What: Terry isn't have a great day.
Where: St. Mungos
When: Day before Terry leaves for his trip.
Status: Incomplete.

"No, you don't understand. I don't want to be checked in." Terry said, running a hand through his hair. "I just need something for stress. My doctor told me what to pick up-" He showed her the small prescription paper. "He said you're the only place that has it."

There Terry was, at the counter of the clinic at St. Mungos. He'd been having an argument with this woman for about five minutes now and he'd already talked to someone else for about ten before that. Things didn't seem to be going anywhere.

"Sir," She said, head leaning on her hand and doodling on a paper in front of her. "If you want to see someone you need to fill out the papers and be checked in."

"But I don't need to see someone or be checked in! I already know what's wrong with me!" He exclaimed, frustrated. Just talking to this woman was causing his stress levels to rise. "Look." Terry started, taking in a deep breath. "I have stress issues. My Doctor gave me a prescription to something he thinks will help. I just need to pick it up. You see I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow and I need to be able to do my job, and if I'm stressed--"

The woman pushed a clipboard toward him. "Fill this out to be checked in and then we can help you, whatever the problem."

Terry looked at the clipboard, then the woman, then the clipboard and then the woman again. "Just forget it. Believe me, you've more than helped already." Oh yes, she'd helped him alright. Helped him right back into stress mode. Terry shook his head and headed toward the door, hand fumbling around in his left inside pocket.

It had been a frustrating morning. Between incredibly grumpy patients, fellow Healers breathing down her neck about this or that, and continuous restless nights, Padma Patil wasn't in the best of moods. Cranky was the best way to phrase it, though that was going lightly upon her. Thankfully, someone had pushed her out of the ward she'd been working in (Spell Damage) and promptly told her to take a break. So, muttering under her breath, Padma stalked down to the break room, sat down for about five minutes, and then went back to whatever she'd been doing before.

Well, that had been the plan at least. But, chancing a glance down the hall, a light frown crossed her features, quickening her step as she called out, "Terry?" What in the world was he doing here? There was instantaneous worry settling in her chest, an uneasy feeling as she caught up with him. "What're you doing here? Is everything all right?"

"Bloody woman..pushing me right back to what I was trying to avoid..." Having gotten a handle on his pack and lighter, Terry was about to step outside when he heard his name being called. Turning his head to identify the person, he saw Padma approaching him.

"Padma," He said, a small, yet still flustered, smile appearing on his face. "Everything is...alright. I guess." He shoved the items back in his pockets. "I was trying to pick up some medicine my doctor suggested. I'm leaving for a business trip tomorrow so it'd be helpful to have. Apparently this is one of the only places that has it on hand, and those women at the desk, I talked to both of them and they didn't seem to understand. Kept insisting I get checked in or some rubbish. Made my problem worse, actually. I was about to give up." Terry paused, and sheepishly pulled out the slip. For some reason he hadn't thought of finding Padma, or Aidan for that matter. "Actually, and I don't want to bother you or anything, but, um, do you think you could, er, send me in the right direction to pick this up?"

Padma listened patiently, grasping the slip of parchment in her hands as her light eyes read over the prescription. It was a simple enough thing to get her hands upon, though, of course, it was hospital procedure to admit someone for a check over before administering the drugs. But Padma knew how she could step around this without stepping on anyones toes.

"Well, technically I can't simply give this to you, despite the signed notice from your personal doctor," Padma began as she glanced to Terry again, "but I could do a quick check-over before handing it over. I promise, it won't take long and, besides, it's more for them to see that I'm following everything correctly." Usually Padma wasn't willing to cut corners, but perhaps today was just a special kind of day. "How does that sound?"

"Oh." In Terry's defense, neither woman had even tried to explain anything to him. "Well, in that case, yeah. That sounds good." He gave a relieved sigh. "Thank you, Padma, you're a life saver." He ran a hand through his hair. "This isn't going to cause you any trouble, is it? Because I could just go back and wait if it is."

"It's hardly any trouble," Padma shot the welcome witch and her accomplice a look as she breezed past them, slowing merely to make sure Terry kept up with her. Honestly, was it so hard to explain the way things worked around here? Apparently it was to them, though Padma had never been a fan of either woman at the front desk as she grabbed a new clipboard, securing the parchment with the prescription upon it along with the information she was supposed to obtain from the exam.

"Besides, if you waited you wouldn't get me and then you'd get stuck with someone who may not be as good as I am," Padma teased as she reached an empty exam room, opening the door, waiting for Terry to step in first. "You don't have to sit on the table unless you really feel like it, by the by," She added as she closed the door behind them, flicking her wand to let some more light into the room before her eyes went down to her papers upon the clipboard.

"Now let's see...I think I can have you fill in this top box here-- it's just basics, like height, weight, full name, date of birth, et. cetera." Padma gave a little grin as she handed over the clipboard, busying herself as she reorganised some of the supplies upon the countertop nearest her, needing something to do rather than simply sitting around waiting for him to be finished filling it out. A part of her was slightly worried-- what did Terry need for stress related issues? Of course, she knew her friends were going to have their secrets (Merlin knows she did) but all the same, a worried chord struck inside her chest and she tried her best not to let it show. She had to be a Healer, not a friend right now.

Terry smiled as he stepped in the exam room. "Good point; not to mention it's likely that you're the nicest person around. Well, you and Aidan." He laughed a little at the thought of Aidan running around giving exams and all that. Terry, deciding not to sit on the table, took the form from her and started filling it out. "Terrence Benjamin Boot," He winced slightly at his full name. "It's been a while since I had to reveal that information." Once he finished filling out the necessary information, he handed the paper back to Padma.

"So.." Terry thought for a moment; should he tell Padma about why he needed stress medication? It probably seemed odd. "Do you know a lot about this stuff he's prescribed me? He said it would work out with my always changing schedule, the different time zones and traveling and all that. And it would help to, you know, calm my nerves and all that better." Okay, so he was babbling. He shook his head and took in a deep breath. "Sorry. It's been an odd past couple days."

Between the snog session with the same woman Aidan had slept with the night before, finding out about it and going into a major stress attack which caused him to start stress smoking again, going over plans about the DA in the back of his mind, planning his work trip which included a presentation and trying to convince Scotland to hold the next World Cup, and getting his apartment into a decent, clean state before he left, Terry felt like he was in pieces all over the place.

Being known as the 'nice person' wasn't such a bad thing, Padma had to admit. It meant she could wind up with patients who wanted to keep seeing her and, despite her general attitude at the moment of grumpiness, it made her smile just a little. Her head turned as she saw him holding the clipboard for her and she took it, glancing over the sections before she sat down in her own chair.

Clicking the end of her pen in and out (yes, she should have been using a quill but, honestly, she loved using pens), she glanced up, back at the prescription, and then spoke. "Yes, I do. I know it's nothing too heavy-- just enough to help get everything back in working order when you're in periods of high stress or if you have an anxiety disorder." She gave a little shake of her head, a smile and a chuckle to herself. "Merlin, sounds like I should be on this and not you," She joked lightly but she was back to all seriousness again in a moment.

"Is everything all right?" She wasn't speaking as his doctor then-- she was speaking as a friend. "I mean, you don't seem like yourself."

Terry nodded at her explanation; it really did sound like just what he needed. Maybe his doctor wasn't such an idiot as he thought.

Then she turned all serious and worried, and Terry actually felt a bit bad appearing out of nowhere and ending up right in the middle and Padma's day. "Yeah, everything is alright." He paused. "This past week has just turned out to be a bit crazy- a lot has been going on that I didn't expect." Terry thought for a moment and ran a hand through his hair. "Sometimes stress kinda bundles up and hits me all at once. I went to the doctor to find better possible alternatives to dealing with it, and he gave me that." He motioned to the prescription slip.

Terry stood there, looking at Padma, and the idea of inviting her into the reformation of the DA came back into his mind. She was smart, worked well on her feet, and was damn good with spells. They needed people, and Padma would be wonderful to have around. She'd probably be able to keep him and Aidan on task and focused if they got a bit, well, like they usually were. "Padma, I want to ask you something, but but I do I need to know if you can keep it to yourself? Not mention it to anyone, including your sister?"

"Well, there can be other alternatives to using medication to aliviate stress, you know," Padma added after a moment's thought. "Breathing techniques, visualisation, and I know there's a book of some sort out there that's supposed to help." There was a moment where she paused and then chuckled lightly. "Sorry, I mean, the potion will work fine. I guess Aidan's been wearing on me a bit more than I thought he was." This, of course, wasn't a bad thing, especially when she saw the reasoning behind looking into the alternative forms of keeping oneself healthy.

She shook her head lightly, leaning herself against the counter, the smirk wearing down to a curious expression-- something caught between a frown and, well, blatant curiosity. Oh, never ask a Ravenclaw a question like that, baiting just enough where she found herself completely intrigued, despite not knowing what Terry was going to ask her. "I can keep a secret," Her arms folded across her chest, Padma bit her lower lip. Hell, she'd kept quite a large secret from her sister for weeks now, which showed something though exactly what she wasn't quite sure of yet. "Tell me."
