If the epithet hadn't given her a clue, his name certainly hinted at his familiarity. In school Lavender had regularly attended Quidditch games (regardless of Gryffindor's involvement in them) for what she called the eye candy. She vaguely recalled their being a member of the Slytherin team named Adrian, though he wasn't in her year. Nonetheless, she wasn't of a mind to hold that against him, especially since she was technically supposed to be working.
"Lavender," she replied by way of introduction, before responding to his earlier comment. "I'm not quite so bold. I merely claimed this as a job well done." She nodded back toward the doorway. "I'm responsible for the centerpieces today. My first official job under my own name, for my own kind."
She hadn't meant for that last comment to sound so... elitist. Lavender never held any regard for blood status in general. But it was one thing to create something for strangers under her boss's name, and quite another to present something to the world that was so much a part of her. She took the bottle back with a grateful nod, and quickly took a large swallow.
