With the pesky wrapping finally removed and shoved in her pocket, Lavender was now fiddling with the cork, which soon made a loud pop as she removed it from the bottle. She shrugged in response to his question, taking a large gulp of champagne before answering. "I'm not exactly a guest here, so I doubt they'd like me participating in the events."
The bottle returned to her lips once more, and she smiled ruefully before adding, "Even if that weren't true, it suits me better to pretend what money I have doesn't belong to me. I have a hard enough time keeping myself from splurging on takeaway."
On that note she raised the bottle a third time before passing it over to him. "Seems only fair I share this with you, since you would've replaced it."
