WHO: Alicia Spinnet and YOU (Come on, you know you want to). WHAT: Alicia finishes a coffee and makes her way to get coffee to celebrate WHEN:She's not really sure but probably late afternoon WHERE: Diagon Alley
As much as Alicia appreciated and enjoyed spontaneity there were certain things that called for a ritual. She wasn’t sure when it started exactly but she relied on it for the process to feel complete, for things to feel right. This week had been largely productive. QQS was quiet and she had proper time towards working on her latest broom. She needed the concentration, needed the time to go into a zone where the only thing she could see was that piece of wood and the broom it would become.
She hadn’t slept in two days, the adrenaline of a work in progress keeping her mind sharp and her body humming. As she looked at the finished broom however the time hunched over was catching up to her, making her stiff. She couldn’t go to bed just yet though, her ritual wasn’t complete. With the final coat of polish drying on her completed broom she grabbed her bag and headed for coffee. She was hopelessly addicted but couldn’t allow herself any while she was working. She needed her hands perfectly steady and couldn’t risk any involuntary jerks due to caffeine.
A sudden breeze hit her and she couldn’t help but smile, she had almost forgotten the outside in her daze. She would need to test that broom once she had caught up on sleep, not that she doubted its efficiency. It was a fast broom, she could feel it when she made it, and she had no doubt the carving would lend to its ability to take sharp turns. A strand of hair blew across her face and she breathed it in. She smelled strongly of holly, like she had rolled around in a forest. She was sure she looked a sight, hair filled with wood shaving and saw dust but she didn’t care. She had created a broom and that felt damn good. Now all she needed was coffee, sweet, sweet coffee.
