Narcissa was sitting in the parlor having her evening cup of tea as she always did when she heard a knock on her front door. She couldn't help but ask herself who would be calling on her this late in the evening without any warning. The maid answered the door before Narcissa could even get up out of her chair. "No, you go back in the kitchen and finish your break. I will answer the door" was all she had to say as she walked up to the maid. When Narcissa saw who was at the door she slightly taken aback; why would Hermione Granger be visiting her? What reason could she possibly have to come here this late in the evening? Narcissa had to admit that she had to admire the younger woman for having the courage to show up here unannounced.
As the maid walked back into the kitchen Narcissa stepped back from the door and looked over at Hermione "Please come in". They may not have been the best of friends or anything of the sort, but Narcissa had always been a lady and she believed in showing courtesy even in the worst of situations. "Would you like to join me for some tea in the parlor? I can step into the kitchen and get an extra saucer if you like". As she waited for the young woman to continue Narcissa looked around the house to make sure no one else was around; she may have not approved of the death eaters, but she still allowed them in her home on occasion, and regardless of what most people thought of her Narcissa did not want to see anyone hurt. Thankfully no one else was home at the moment, so the young woman would be safe here for now.
