Hannah’s eyes widened as she realized what Terry must have thought she had been thinking. “Oh no,” she exclaimed quickly. “I didn’t think . . . No, I knew what you meant. It was just a very nice, and therefore surprising, thing to say.” Hannah bit her lip, feeling slightly confused. About what she wasn’t exactly sure. But then that might have been a part of the problem. It wasn’t until a moment later that she realized what she said might be considered rather offensive. “Not that I don’t think you’re nice. You are. I mean . . . Have I mentioned how much I appreciate you doing this.”
Hannah clapped her hands together excitedly. “That’s brilliant,” she exclaimed, suddenly feeling much lighter. While it didn’t completely erase her fear - and she doubted that anything ever could - it did ease it a great deal. “Could you really do that?” she asked in awe. No matter how long she had been a witch, some of the things that one could do with magic still managed to surprise her. “And the whole building too? No one would notice?”
