Padma sighed, meeting her sister's gaze again. It was understandable, she realised, that Parvati would follow someone she loved into this. Padma had only known a family love and, while that bond was strong, it left her free to do as she wished most of the times. She wasn't sure if she could imagine giving up her dreams to make someone else happy, something that left her feeling unsettled and uncertain about that time that could come when all would be laid on the line and she may have to choose between them.
"I know," Padma murmured, sighing, defeated in her quest. She moved up the bed, sliding into the space next to Parvati, leaning her head upon her twin's shoulder. "I just..." She frowned, pausing, trying to find the right words so she wouldn't make her twin angry again. "I'm sure you'll find a way to make sure you education doesn't go to waste, yeah?"
There was another pause. "You know I just want to be sure you're happy with this, right? I mean, if you're happy than I can rest easy." She gave a little smile, a hopeful glint in her eyes. "Though going through training won't be the same without you, I have to say." Acceptance seemed the best path right now, the best way she could figure things out and come to terms with the fact that her sister didn't want what Padma wanted out of life. And perhaps that was okay, right? Or at least it had to be.
