"You are unbelievable!" she exclaimed. "I didn't want to force you into a marriage, Spencer! I wanted you to want to marry me, which really isn't that bloody much to ask when someone's already proposed!" She hated when Spencer yelled. He was an awful lot bigger than her, and though she knew he would never hurt her, he was still pretty damn scary. It made it a lot harder to hold her ground, but she did, as she always had. "You moved the relationship forward, Spencer. You can't just drag it back to where it was!"
"Maybe you didn't want to break up, but you obviously thought we were going to, didn't you? Should I have just hung around waiting for you to end it? It doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense, does it, Spencer?"
Megan giggled as she adjusted in his lap. "I was happy to see you. I was always happy to see you." Well, okay, there were a few choice times when that wasn't entirely true, but that was another story entirely.
She returned his smirk with one of her own, though a slight blush crept upon her cheeks. "One hundred percent effective," she replied. "Though I like to think I returned the favor now and then."
