Megan had a temper buried beneath all of her bubbly, cheerfulness. It took most people a great deal of effort to draw it out, but Spencer seemed to be quite the master at it these days. "You can't just propose and then say- Oh wait, changed my bloody mind, Spencer!" she exclaimed. "Pardon me for jumping to the idiotic conclusion that a proposal would lead to a marriage!"
It was easy to slide back into that comfortable position. Spencer was warm, and after so many years, they fit together like puzzle pieces, her small frame easily engulfed by Spencer's larger one. The movie could only hold Megan's interest for so long before the comfortable warmth made her eyelids heavy and Miss Jones was sleeping soundly on Spencer's chest.
Or perhaps not so soundly. Shifting slightly in his arms, a soft mumble of "MmmSpencer," escaped her lips as she snuggled closer to him.
