The first thing Chris became aware of as he regained consciousness was a lack of pain and wetness on his face. It was the absence of pain that urged him awake. Was he dead? Had his spirit passed on to heaven? But... if he was dead... did that mean he had succeeded in changing the past?

He sat up with a groan, one hand pushing him up from the ground and the other going to his side where Gideon had stabbed him. It was reflexive, and when he felt torn cloth he opened his eyes to look, shocked to see the skin beneath was healed. How could that be possible? Even an Elder couldn't heal a darklighter's poison; Leo had tried. Chris pushed his hair out of his face and feeling it damp tilted his head back only to squint against the drizzle coming down. Well, he wasn't dead, because this wasn't heaven, or the underworld for that matter. Least not any part of the underworld he had ever heard about or seen. Did that mean he succeeded in changing the past, was that why he hadn't died? He didn't feel any different, and he thought he would feel different if that was the case. Or at least not remember what had just happened to him, because shouldn't have changing the past changed what happened in the future, and changed his own actions? Ugh, thinking about the ins and outs of time travel gave him a headache. But he did need to figure out where he hell he was and what the hell happened, because this was most definitely not San Francisco.

As he looked around Chris noticed he wasn't alone. While he didn't recognize the other man lying nearby his whitelighter instincts were kicking in and he shifted onto his knees as he moved to see if the man was alright, or at least alive. "Hey... hey, are you alright?" Chris lightly shook one of the man's shoulders before searching for a pulse, mostly relieved to find one. Mostly, because for all he knew this man was some sort of demon or darklighter and had sent the both of them to this place.

Remy could think what he wanted, but Connor was in no danger of being charmed. For one, not even the prettiest of boys could turn Connor's eye. He was nerdy, not gay. For another, his heart belonged to one Abby Maitland and one day she was going to figure that out. They were meant to be, he knew it, and no one would change his mind. Especially not some partial demon guy thing.

"I've seen weirder," he commented with a shrug, turning to Chris. He didn't elaborate on what and instead looked at the other man with concern. "Are you okay?" he asked. It hadn't occurred to him that the display of...magic? Whatever it was, that it might have hurt his companion. "What was it you were trying to do, anyway? Elevate or something?"

Oh, Connor. One day you'd truly grasp this other-worldlyness that you'd become a part of. Today just wasn't that day.

Chris caught the 'us', which really didn't mean much to him since he had already figured Remy as something non-human. It just told him there were a few others who might have some sort of powers. As the Cajun rambled on he was biting back a sigh. Great. This place sounded way too similar to the future he had come from originally for his liking. Whether that meant he was better or worse prepared than some was up in the air at the moment. He did know one thing, and that was that he didn't want anyone doing experiments on him. His kind was rare enough, he didn't want anyone trying to figure out how he worked or something.

"It wouldn't be the first time someone's tried to kill me." he easily replied, absently noting down in his mind the name the Cajun tossed at him. Winchesters, hmm. It didn't sound familiar, but it was good to be aware of any possible enemies. Chris did make a bit of a face when Remy practically taunted him about the whole demon thing. "Maybe you're not a demon, not from my world, but that doesn't mean I trust you." At least he was honest.

It was the concern more than the questions that turned the hybrid's attention back to Connor and he managed the barest of reassuring smiles, nodding slightly. "I'm fine, other than the headache all this crap is giving me." Questionable entity with demon-red eyes not included. He looked at the other man a moment, debating a moment on what to tell him. Well, if there was, in fact, some sort of reason why the two of them had appeared in this place together -- like that he was supposed to look out for Connor while they were trapped here -- then he supposed it couldn't hurt to tell the truth. "Kind of. I was trying to teleport to..." Saying the heavens probably wouldn't go over well. It was far easier for people to handle demons than angels for some reason. "... another plane." It wasn't a lie, at least. "But there's something up there. I don't know if it's a physical barrier but it's there." A frown darkened his face as he said it. The idea of being trapped anywhere, for any reason, didn't set well with Chris.

Gambit grinned some as Connor asked about Chris' well-being. Well, the red-head certainly wasn't going to do it, so it was good that the other man had! And when he questioned what he was trying to do, Remy spoke up at the same time Chris did. "T'ink he was tryin' t' telepor'." Though, he stopped talking after that and shifted red eyes to the formerly glowing man and cracked another grin.

"Oui, 'dere's de glass I tell you 'bou'. Bu' ain' jus' glass. Stronger 'den 'dat. Look, you two jus' go on insi'e an' fin' someone in 'dere, talk t' 'dem. 'Dey gonna tell you 'de same t'in's I did. You see. G'wan." Even as he was urging the two, he was sidestepping and shrugging up his jacket to bring it closer to his neck. "I gotta fin' uh frien' o' mine, make sure he doin' okay. You two gonna be alrigh' here, non?" Even if they weren't, he was going to leave anyway. Because they would be fine, though they might think not.

Connor liked to think of himself as a confident sort. Maybe not suave or graceful or anything like that, but confident in who he was. No, he wasn't cool, and he'd embraced that. Yes, he worked with dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures on a daily basis. He'd embraced that, too.

So when Remy 'Gambit' LeBeau asked if they were going to be alright in that butchered English of his? He simply shrugged and nodded. "Course we are. What else are we going to do, run and hide? Not gonna do us a lot of good, that." He looked at the gym in front of him and wondered if he really dared to go in. It didn't look like any of the gymnasiums back home, but that was a big city and this was BFE. Maybe this was normal for them.

"Don't happen to know what year it is here, do you?" he questioned before the red-eyed man could leave. Time Connor could deal with. Teleporting...well how much did that suck that Chris could do it and he couldn't?

He shot Remy a look when he chimed in about teleporting. It could have been a guess, but he sounded a bit too confident, especially with that grin on his face. So if he wasn't a demon, or a darklighter, or from some coven of witches Chris had by some fluke never heard of... what was he? And what was it he could do? It was aggravating to think he might have to actually look for Remy at some point to discuss abilities. Best not to think of that now, or his irritation might lead to him showing off another ability or two because he wasn't thinking straight.

Chris just waved a hand dismissively, turning his gaze to the building for the moment. It inspired about the same amount of confidence in him as it did in Connor. "I actually don't mind the run and hide strategy, but it does get tiring after awhile, unfortunately." More mentally than physically, at least for him, but he didn't need to talk about that.

"Non, none o' us do. We don' even know wha' plane' we on, bu' i' ain' Ear't." Yeah, he'd leave the two of you to chew on that. He offered up another smile and lifted a gloved hand to wave at the pair of them (really, it was more a wiggle of his fingers) before he was backing off, then turning and heading off in the direction of the museum.

He had a Doctor to find!
