The first thing Chris became aware of as he regained consciousness was a lack of pain and wetness on his face. It was the absence of pain that urged him awake. Was he dead? Had his spirit passed on to heaven? But... if he was dead... did that mean he had succeeded in changing the past?

He sat up with a groan, one hand pushing him up from the ground and the other going to his side where Gideon had stabbed him. It was reflexive, and when he felt torn cloth he opened his eyes to look, shocked to see the skin beneath was healed. How could that be possible? Even an Elder couldn't heal a darklighter's poison; Leo had tried. Chris pushed his hair out of his face and feeling it damp tilted his head back only to squint against the drizzle coming down. Well, he wasn't dead, because this wasn't heaven, or the underworld for that matter. Least not any part of the underworld he had ever heard about or seen. Did that mean he succeeded in changing the past, was that why he hadn't died? He didn't feel any different, and he thought he would feel different if that was the case. Or at least not remember what had just happened to him, because shouldn't have changing the past changed what happened in the future, and changed his own actions? Ugh, thinking about the ins and outs of time travel gave him a headache. But he did need to figure out where he hell he was and what the hell happened, because this was most definitely not San Francisco.

As he looked around Chris noticed he wasn't alone. While he didn't recognize the other man lying nearby his whitelighter instincts were kicking in and he shifted onto his knees as he moved to see if the man was alright, or at least alive. "Hey... hey, are you alright?" Chris lightly shook one of the man's shoulders before searching for a pulse, mostly relieved to find one. Mostly, because for all he knew this man was some sort of demon or darklighter and had sent the both of them to this place.

Chris leaned back when the man started to move, both giving him room to sit up and giving himself room in case he needed to be prepared for an attack. Not that he was really any good at physical fighting. As the man got his bearings Chris took a good look at him and decided he didn't 'feel' like a demon or a darklighter or anything else evil. Didn't mean that he wasn't, but at least Chris was pretty sure he wasn't about to be stabbed again or thrown into a nearby tree.

"I'm Chris. And no, I don't know where we are." He figured such a question was likely the next thing out of the man's mouth, since it would be out of his. But it seemed a safe bet that if the man didn't know who (or what) he was then he probably wasn't responsible for wherever they just woke up at. The wet ground was starting to get to him so Chris cautiously got to his feet, unsure how steady he would be. His body reacted as if nothing could ever be wrong and he again inspected his side, fingers pulling apart the torn and blood-stained fabric to poke at the pale, undamaged skin beneath. Some kind of magic was at work that he didn't know of. It had to be, to heal such a wound. And that was a scary prospect. Unless a darklighter had sent him through a portal... but Leo and Paige had been in the room so there was no way a darklighter would have had time to work such a spell, surely he would have died first if anything. And why wasn't he dead? Chris put a hand to his head, already feeling a headache starting, and he looked around at forest they seemed to be in, hoping to see something familiar.

Connor remained seated, despite the dampness beneath him. Frankly, he sort of hoped if he stayed there long enough, the ground really would become his bed and he could finish up that dream of his and wind up back in the flat, Rex on his face as he so often did. Getting up would mar that image, and make him trapped. Like an animal. Like those creatures in Helen's zoo...

He shook his head, taking a very deep breath before stretching each body part carefully, making sure he remained uninjured. "You alright?" he asked, looking up at the blood stains on the other man's shirt. He seemed nice enough, but you just never knew anymore, did you? What if he was one of those sent by Helen? Another clone? But he didn't look like the cleaner... Ugh, this was getting more confusing every day. Why couldn't have have taken a stable job like...like plumber?

"You look like hell," Connor admitted, his face scrunching up in a very honest assessment of the area around them. "This place is... How'd we end up... I don't remember leaving home, to be honest." Where was Jenny? And Abby, she'd been right there, he'd never forget the feeling of her hand in his. Where were they?

He was looking at the trees, brows furrowed as he realized some of them didn't look like any trees he had seen before. The underworld had trees in some places, or what was left of them, but it didn't exactly rain down there. Maybe it was some weird alternate universe, although that still wouldn't begin to answer the questions floating around in his head.

Chris looked back to the other man at his comment, glancing down at his previously injured abdomen. If he thought about it he swore he could still feel the poison inside him. "I'm alright, I think." He made a face, realizing he really wasn't sure if he was or not, but had enough spirit to chuckle at the comment of looking like hell. "Thanks, I don't really feel it, at least."

Running a hand through his hair, Chris shrugged, wrestling with those questions himself. "I have no freaking idea. Last I knew I was dying." And he really hadn't known what would happen to him. If he was going to die from the wound or fade as he did when Piper and Leo almost didn't have sex in time to conceive him or who knows what else. As he looked around more Chris noticed two metal boxes on the ground, like little ration boxes he'd seen pictures of in history books, and he squatted down to examine one. "Vas Captio..." he murmured aloud as he ran his fingers over the writing on the top of the box. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?" His Latin was a little rusty, but he was pretty sure one of the words had to do with imprisonment. That couldn't bode well.

Connor scrambled to his knees, now that he realized he wasn't about to die. At least, not just yet. Maybe he'd slipped through an anomaly and didn't know it. But there were rarely people in anomalies. And he couldn't see the shining light of the doorway through time gleaming anywhere nearby.

He reached for the other container, reading the top just as the other bloke had done, then opening it. Because really, what were the odds a poisonous snake or a deadly gas was going to come out? Oh. Right. With his luck? Pretty good.

But all that sat inside was a book, a journal of sorts. A pair of socks. Some water. It looked like a very puny version of some wilderness survival kit. Well, they did seem to be in the wilderness. "I'm Connor, by the way," he added, not meeting the other man's eyes. Because really, he just couldn't be entirely sure about him yet. Even if he did seem trustworthy. So did plenty of other people, until it was too late. "Connor Temple. Of the Cambridge Temples," he added in a snooty accent, then laughed a little. May as well make light of the situation till they found out if they were going to die at least. "I'm...kidding about that. We're not really...right, anyway. What's this," he continued, picking up the book. Were these things meant for them? Maybe.

Chris was still examining the box, not nearly as eager to open it as the other man. It could be some sort of Pandora's Box or something for all they knew. Usually a box was just a box, but it was entirely possible for it to be something else and -- His thoughts paused when the other man opened his box and nothing evil or wicked floated out of it. Hmm. Apparently it was harmless. Good to know.

He opened his and frowned at what was inside. Although socks would likely come in handy, with the rate the rain was coming down. Chris closed his box after a quick peek-through, not wanting everything inside to get wet in case he needed it. Instead he looked over at the other man and watched him poke through his things, brow furrowing again at his rambling. "Nice to meet you, I guess." Was it really, when they'd both apparently come to somewhere foreign to either of them? "I've no idea." Chris was standing up again, holding the box in one hand as he looked around. Was this place all wilderness, or was there more to it? More importantly, what was it and how could he go about getting out? He needed to get home, either to the past or the future. He had to know what happened, what had changed, if anything. Chris thought about trying to orb home, closing his eyes as he prepared to do so, but he couldn't sense Leo, or anyone. He couldn't sense the house which should have been as easy to orb to as to the heavens. "This is not good." he muttered to himself. Maybe it was an alternate universe... one where the Charmed Ones didn't exist. That was too frightening a thought to ponder.

"Wha'ever you tryin' t' do, ain' gonna work." Came a sudden, smooth voice from the forest beyond them. And there the Cajun came, through the thick underbrush, crunching it wetly beneath his boots. He was trying his best to keep his clothes mostly dry, hence why the Doctor's coat was pulled up so high, the collar popped and pressed against his neck, and the front of it buttoned up tight. He had woken up just a few moments ago with a few of his fellow captives, and after a quick session of talking (or arguing, in some cases), Remy had left them behind and begun wandering out through the forest on his own. He'd taken a path down, instead of over, and had missed the town entirely.. instead, he'd come across what appeared to be new people. But you never could tell, since he certainly hadn't met everyone here.. something he found strange, considering he'd been here a week and a half and there weren't that many of them to begin with! The Cajun, of course, was on his way to the barn, he wanted to get 'home' and get dry as soon as possible. But he was always willing to stop and talk with the new captives. It had sort of become a thing of his. Maybe from now on, he'd go actively, looking for people in the mornings.. the idea made him smirk. The greeter for Hell. Almost as bad as Walmart!

The slightly damp red-head (the trees caught most of the water, thankfully, so he wasn't wet to his bones yet) came to a stop a few feet away, always cautious in case they attacked, and lifted a hand up, spreading gloved fingers in a sort of welcome wave, though his hand didn't move at all. Maybe he was just showing that he had no weapons? Of course.. really, he was the weapon. But shh, not many people knew about that. He didn't want to get attacked over it, because a lot of people here believed in demons. Speaking of which! Those red eyes were focusing intently onto Chris, his eyebrows lifting with a smooth, charming smile. "Bonjour." Wonderful, they were in France! Or maybe not. He did speak English, and that accent.. well. Lord knew if either one of them would know that accent.

Red eyes slid over to Connor next. "Bonjour." He greeted similarly, finally lowering his hand down and pushing it once more into the pocket of his trench coat, to join the other. "M' Remy LeBeau, one 'de prisoners here. Soyez bienvenus à la boîte de verre." Welcome to the glass box, didn't that just sound all sorts of exciting?

Connor's French was weak. No, weak would be the wrong word. Connor's French was just plain bad. If they'd been spirited off to France--and it was hard to tell with three distinctly different accents around--he was basically screwed.

He'd been reaching out his own hand, clad in fingertipless gloves, but when he realized this Remy was only waving or...something, he awkwardly turned the motion into a tap to his head. His trusted fedora had fallen when whoever had placed him there had...well, placed him there. But it lay nearby, and he bent to scoop it up, tucking it under his arm. "Okay, prisoners? I don't know about this guy," he said, tipping his head in Chris' direction, "but I haven't committed any crimes. That I know of." The last bit was mumbled under his breath. The ARC was government approved, right? And sure, he'd made some risky decisions now and then, but never anything...illegal. Mostly. "And who dumps their prisoners in the dirt, anyway?"

And furthermore, why was their greeter eyeing them with red eyes? Had they come to the future? It was possible. So far they hadn't discovered mankind's changes and evolution in their searches, but who was to say they wouldn't?

The voice from behind startled him and Chris spun around, absently thankful it didn't seem wet enough, at least where he was standing, for him to end up slipping and falling on his ass. His dark eyes took in this new person, narrowing sharply when he caught sight of the peculiar eyes. Down right demonic. Chris tensed, the mere sight of this new person seeming to support his theory of foul play being involved in whatever got him here. Although... French? He couldn't say he'd met a French demon before, though plenty were capable of whatever accent they wanted, depending on what their purpose was.

"What the hell are you?" Chris snapped, not really caring about the 'who'. The name didn't ring any bells and hell, he'd given false names plenty over the years. A name alone could rarely be trusted. He didn't do anything, yet. But he did have one hand free and that would be all he needed to defend himself at the moment, assuming his abilities still worked. He almost wanted to strike out at the apparent demon without cause for attack, just to see if they did in fact work. If his powers had been stripped... well, he was screwed.

"Oui, prisoners. We all prisoners here. Ain' gotta do not'in' wron', jus' gotta catch 'de eye o' 'de people runnin' 'dis place." He gestured in a smooth, fluid line, upwards to the sky, clearly indicating someone who was 'up there'. But it certainly wasn't God, make no mistake. He actually meant that there were people watching over them in this strange glass prison. "An' 'dis place ain' no normal prison."

He might have gone on to explain more, but then the other man was demanding to know what Gambit was, and that earned a curling, cutting smile. If he had a dollar for every time someone asked that question, he'd be a rich man. "I'm uh Cajun." As if that answered all of the questions burning in that other man's eyes. He, sir, was a Cajun. That was all you needed to know. It was all anyone needed to know. Soon enough, they'd all learn different, they'd find out exactly how dangerous the smiling, joking red-head was. But not yet. Not many people knew, after all.. The Doctor did. Jenny did. And Shannon did. But Shannon was missing and.. well. That left only two people. That was good, in his book.

"'Dis place called Vas Cap'io. An' i's uh big glass box. An' 'dem boxes you got 'dere? 'Dey got uh book in 'dere, wha' you use t' communica'e wit' the ot'er people here. 'Bou' for'y o' us. An' like I say, 'dis ain' no normal prison. 'Dey do 'xperimen's here, an' 'dey kill people. 'Dere was fif'y o' us, two days ago. Jus' for'y now." Remy inclined his head some, but didn't show any remorse for the fallen. He didn't know any of them. He didn't really care. They weren't his people. There was only one of 'his' people here.. and she was one of them.
