Entry tags:!complete, day 17, jenny schecter, location: theatre, remy lebeau

Who:  Remy LeBeau & Jenny Schecter
What:  Remy finally tracks down Jenny.
Where:  In the Theater - Jenny's room.
When:  Day 17, 6:28am
Rating:  PG
Status:  Complete

In her room. Of course. Where else would someone be at o'dark thirty? Okay, it wasn't that dark, the sun was starting to rise.. and Remy was antsy. He'd had a particularly fantastic day yesterday, especially last evening as the sun had been setting. So he was, of course, in a particularly good mood. And though he and Jenny had been avoiding one another, he had finally decided he was going to go over there and find out exactly what was going on, and exactly why she was upset. Because really? The Cajun had no idea, he was genuinely confused.. he'd never understood women. No man really did. Even the gay ones who claimed to.

So he'd finished making his way from his barn to her theater, up the steps, down the row, down the steps, through the hall, and to the indicated door. A gloved hand rapped a few times on the wooden obstruction, before he was nudging it open with a hip and sticking just one hand through, a twinkie trapped between his fingers. His last one. He couldn'f find any flowers, so the small sugar-packed snack would have to do. Only after the twinkie had been sighted would the Cajun nudge the door open further and stick his head in with a smile. "You decen'?" Even if she wasn't, he was pushing the door open and coming inside, then leaning back against it to close it behind him.

If Jenny had known that in spite of the possessive he'd spoken to her as the Insider, his lack of ability to be loyal was the thing that had caused him to leave her by herself in the morning the night she'd stayed in the barn, she might not have even responded to his journal entry. It was just as well at this point because she now had a clearer idea of what she wanted. He'd made her decision for her and she was in all actuality grateful. It also meant she was going to play too. There was no reason to demure anymore.

She watched as he rummaged through the tiaras with interest, wondering if he was going to actually dress up in one of the dresses and affect an Audrey Hepburn accent to go along with it. She wasn't sure what he was doing until he removed the tiara she'd been wearing and replaced it with one he liked more. Which was a strange move but not unwelcome. She tilted her head at him, giving him a curious smile. She would have asked but he was talking again so she held her tongue.

"You don't think that when they take me down they won't expose him for having known too? That's not very nice of you not to warn him, Remy, but suit yourself," she said with a smile.

Her eyes glittered in the waxing sunlight and she knew the tiara sparkled as well because she could see some of its reflection dancing on the wall opposite the window. "The only other person who knows is L but I didn't tell him out right. He knew. Guess that's why we're - well." She shrugged and laughed lightly because she had no idea how to define what she and L were.

Reaching for the Twinkie again, Jenny broke the seal and pulled the sweet cake from the wrapper. Breaking it in two pieces, one larger than the other, she offered him the larger piece. "Did you know," she asked, taking a small bite of her piece, "That I once did performance art? I think you might have enjoyed it."

"He can take care o' himself, chere." Gambit promised with a smile, shifting his body some on the makeshift bed as he did, stretching out tight muscles before he let out a breath and relaxed again.

"You an' L? Don' tell him you been here wit' me. Homme don' like me 'nuff 'cause I been stayin' 'roun' Laura." Red eyes rolled up, but it was clear to tell that he was amused, instead of upset. He couldn't care less what some man, whom he'd never met, thought about him. He didn't even care what people he actually had met thought about him.

When the Twinkie was offered out, Gambit lifted his hand some to decline. Honestly? He'd had so many Twinkies in this place that he planned never to eat one, ever again. Even when he got out of here, he'd run from Twinkies. No, no more of that yellow, sugar-coated goodness, thanks, Jenny. But he was smiling all the same, curling his fingers closed again and tucking that arm under, so he could resume his languid state.

"Oh ye'h? Wha' you do? You dance?" Careful, Jenny. Don't tell the acrobat that you danced, or you'd end up dancing for him, and that wasn't what either one of them needed right now. "Or you an ac'ress?" Either one, really, would have been nice. Because now that she said she performed? He was going to expect a performance!
