Who: Elliot Reid and OTA
What: Shoe Shopping
Where: The Thrift Shop
When: Day 16, Late Morning
Rating: PG
Status: Active

Elliot had been disappointed to read in the journals that Andy wouldn't be coming back to the church, though that had more to do with the fact that she suddenly found this place to be the creepiest place alive rather than her missing out on the breakfast he'd promised to bring back. Still, it seemed less scary in the daylight.

Or it had been until she'd sat up on her pew to find the picture of Sacred Heart sans her. She'd stared at the picture for a long time, running her fingers over the faces of her friends. JD, Turk, Carla, Dr. Cox, Janitor, even Dr. Kelso. What she wouldn't give to see any of them right now. She didn't cry, though she could feel loneliness and homesickness building in her stomach as she'd forced herself to move out the church doors and towards the Thrift Shop, the picture folded and tucked into her jacket pocket.

The sun was warm and she shrugged off her jacket half way there, throwing it over her arm as she walked. She didn't run into anyone on the way and for a moment she was scared that somehow the people in charge had wiped out everyone else, leaving her alone, but then she opened her journal and read the entries there. When she reached the Thrift Shop she pushed open the doors and started looking around for another pair of shoes. While she was at it, she could use some more clothes.

Dean turned off the engine of the Impala and stepped out. The radio still blared and he sighed, shaking his head. There was something so wrong with this backdoor gift but he couldn't put his finger on it. He knew though that he should save some gas and the best place to leave the car seemed to be here near the Thrift Shoppe. There was a back street with no buildings on it across from the store. It didn't seem likely anyone would bother it there and he could work on her in peace.

Except what he needed were a few tools he thought he'd seen in the shop the last time he'd been there with Tonks. Slamming the door he started walking toward the shop with a slightly annoyed glance over his shoulder at the screaming vocals issuing from the radio. If he had to hear more stupid men crooning in girlish voices about taking someone's mama out all night his head might just explode.

Picking up the pace, Dean jogged up to the door, listening to the bell above it tinkle as he entered. The flash of blonde hair in the racks made his heart stop. Luna? But she was dead, wasn't she? He followed her silently, wanting to see a glimpse of her face, inform his mind that he had been given the wrong information. Luna wasn't dead. She couldn't be. He smiled as he caught sight of the hair again and reached out to touch her shoulder. "Where have you been?" he asked with a chuckle that stopped with a sudden suck of air, the smile frozen on his face.

Elliot hadn't heard the door open and so the sudden weight of Dean's hand on her shoulder caused her to scream and whirl around. She was still feeling jumpy from the previous day's experiment and the shock of finding herself suddenly not alone had caught her off guard.

She blinked at him, trying to register the blank smile he was giving her and trying to decipher the words he'd said right before she'd screamed. "Sorry," she said, lowering the hand that had shot up to her chest. "You scared the crap out of me."

She bent down to pick up the jacket that had fallen to the ground. "Oh, you know being kidnapped and stuck in glass boxes to be suffocated then being blinded and stuck in rooms with fires in the corner." She straightened up and looked at him. "Nothing unusual. You?"
