Shizuka Doumeki ([info]throughyoureye) wrote in [info]vas_captio_rpg,

"I've never heard of anything like that," Domeki admitted in response to her description of the glass wall - but that wasn't entirely true. Silently, he reflected that her words made the barrier sound just a bit too much like the observatory windows in the zoo - the sort that allowed anyone from the outside to look in but kept all the dangerous creatures from escaping. "Hn, I don't like the sound of it at all."

Her apologetic look caused him to quickly shake his head. "Don't worry. I wasn't being entirely truthful either. I do know another, too - a boy named Watanuki who was one of my classmates. I haven't seen him in person yet but I've seen him writing in the journal." For a moment, he paused to reflect on the fact that there were approximately fourteen people in the town but he supposed that the number shouldn't have surprised him - there was no real reason to expect the situation to be limited to a select few even if a large number made it hard to guess any common element amongst all of them. "The gathering, later, should really be something to see with that many people."

Briefly, Domeki appeared amused by her sudden lose of her train of thought but he nodded slightly to her words. "I've heard the same - I'm sure you'll remember to tell me, sooner or later."

"There seem to be many people in that situation - who seem to only be waiting for their purpose and their real life to begin." He spoke softly and his attention seemed to drift idly. When he spoke, he had no particular 'people' in mind yet a few familiar faces filled his memory. "Some people spend their entire lives in that tense state of uncertainty but there are others who only need the right situation to draw them forward into the world. It is usually only through stress and unfortunate moments that one fully steps into the world, but..." Domeki allowed his words to trail away as he closed his eyes. There was no point in him speaking further. His forte had never been in cheering people or reassuring them of their worth - that role had often fell to Watanuki; all Domeki could really do was act as a support as much as possible.

"Mm," Opening his eyes, he nodded as she pointed to the church. "Are you sure you still want to go?"
