Her intent had been to climb to the top of the clock tower and see what could be seen. If the town was so small, surely she would be able to see all sides of the glass prison from that height. But the smell and sound of mortals kept her away. After the trying day she had had, she had absolutely no desire to deal with anyone new, particularly at night. Those unnaturally blue eyes of hers were likely to spark suspicion much easier at night than in the daytime after all. So she fell back on her second plan, which was to explore the museum in search of some sort of weapon, preferably a decent blade. Again, the presence of several mortals frustrated her. The building was of good size and she probably could have managed sneaking around just fine but she felt it wisest to exert caution. That, and several centuries of avoiding mortals was a hard habit to break. The forest was deemed too dangerous when she had no idea the wildlife that could be lurking and so the vampire silently scaled the building to hide herself on the rooftop. Not an ideal place, true enough, but it was a hard to reach location and on the off chance any lycans appeared they would not be able to sneak up on her there.

Selene tucked herself away behind a few air vents and what had once been either a large heating or air conditioning unit, and that was where she awoke only a few hours later. She could feel warmth against her face and as she cracked open her eyes she gave a rather feral hiss at the sky. One hand yanked the collar of her trench up over her face as her body curled up tight, back pressing firm against the metal behind her. Blasted sun. But after a few minutes she uncurled, remembering that such light could no longer harm her, even if she was on some other planet, or whatever the Doctor had told her. The thought made her wake up more and she slowly sat up, yawning wide. Right. It wasn't just a ridiculously horrible dream. As she stretched out one leg her boot connected with something soft and she quickly drew her leg back, wide awake in an instant. Now what? "Oh, you have got to be kidding me." She reached out with one hand to pick up the blood bag even as she looked around and spied others. A reflexive sniff told her nothing so she carefully tore open a corner and dipped two fingers in, then angrily tossed the bag aside. She didn't need to taste the liquid, it was far too thin a consistency and lacked the tell-tale scent of blood, even synthetic.

"Fucking bastards!" The vampire reluctantly licked her fingers clean, not wanting to wipe them on her coat now that she had finally gotten all the dried blood from the first experiment off her clothes, and got up. First they smeared blood all over her clothes, then they stuck her in a room with a cut-up mortal and a bag of real blood, and now they were blatantly taunting her. It wasn't right. She only had so much control; eventually the bloodlust would win out, even if her body wasn't to the point where she needed the blood. Making her way to the edge of the rooftop, Selene hopped over the side with barely a glance, landing on the ground on her feet easily and relatively quietly. She needed to finish exploring the town. Maybe find that pharmacy Gambit mentioned, or the gas station. Those places sold pocketknives and the like sometimes. Anything to keep her mind off temptation.

What was it she said the day before? The sheep don't invite the wolf in for the night? It was starting to feel like far too accurate a statement.

His comments about trying to get out set a frown on her face, though she managed to keep back a sigh. There had to be some way out. It just didn't make sense to her for there not to be. But she certainly had no answers. Her attempt to penetrate the glass had failed as well. At the comment about being out late part of her almost wanted to chuckle. It was both late and early, really, and she was most used to settling down for the day at such a time than being up and around. "I'm not much for sleeping on floors, really." Not that a roof was much better, though she had felt safer. "I thought it might be a good time to look around, while the place is quiet." She refrained from commenting that she wasn't like most others, doubting it was particularly wise.
