Entry tags:!dropped, day 16, illyana rasputin, location: forest, remus lupin, spock

Who: Remus Lupin, Illyana Rasputin, and Spock
What: More new arrivals..
Where: The Forest: closest landmark, the Cemetery.
When: Day 16, 7:45am
Rating: PGish
Status: Complete

It had been two days since the Full Moon and the young Remus Lupin looked worse for wear. He had darker circles under his eyes (but they were quickly fading as the strength of the waxing moon left him in its wake), and a gauze square on his cheek, taped perfectly with white, water-proof medical tape, to assure that it remained there. He had a smaller cut over his opposite eyebrow, and several bandaged wounds beneath the shirt he was wearing.. the pale blue shirt, with little white spots. And matching pants. The young man had been snatched directly from the medical wing, straight out of his bed, dropped into the forest of some strange place. And he awoke slowly, hazel eyes cracking open just a bit, before they opened a little more, pupils readjusting to the light filtering down in through the trees. Where was he? The soft hospital bed was gone, replaced by leaves and grass and dirt. And he was slowly sitting up, lifting a dirty hand to his cheek to feel the gauze there. His hand, likewise, had gauze taped across the back. He looked like he'd been put through a blender just recently, or something equally as awful. His mouse-brown hair was already spotted with gray, making him look quite the sight indeed.

But he was looking around slowly, taking in the trees, and wondering what species a few of them were, before he looked down and noticed the bodies around him. He immediately jerked some and pushed up to bare feet, letting out a sudden breath. He was sure, of course, that the other two were dead. The young werewolf, only sixteen a few weeks ago, was stumbling back a few quick steps to avoid those bodies, only to trip over the box behind him and fall into the brush near a tree. The box flipped open and the contents spilled out, hazel eyes falling onto them. Socks? Matches? A book-- no, a journal. His fingers slowly stretched out to pick that journal up, and he might have had a chance to open it, but then his head snapped up at the sound of one of the bodies.

When the woman first started moving, Remus had immediately believed that she was some sort of dead creature come back to life to eat him, or something just as horribly grotesque (he blamed Sirius for that, Remus was more logical.. but all those ghost stories really ate at him sometimes). But when she had begun speaking, his shoulders had relaxed ever so slightly and he'd scooted back more on the ground, curling his legs in and quickly pushing everything back into the little box that he'd tripped over. Who's ever box it was, he was loathe to have disturbed it and felt quite like an idiot for doing it, a little bit of heat riding up in his cheeks the more he thought about it. Remus Lupin, you were an idiot.

"No, I.. don't." He admitted quietly, almost shyly, before he took stock of the fact that the two of them had those strange boxes near them. And if she didn't know where they were, and she had a box.. that meant.. the box was his? It made sense. And since the younger man was barefoot, he was carefully taking those socks out and tugging them onto his feet to give at least a little protection from the stabbing sticks and poking leaves.

But just seconds later, the other body was moving, and Remus was jerking a little, then carefully climbing up to his feet, lifting the refilled box and holding it near his chest as he did. Well, that man was taller.. and.. his ears. Really, it was something right out of a book. Elf-ears. But elves didn't quite.. look like he did. Maybe.. he was an elf-human cross? Oh, that was just disgusting to think about. But then the man was speaking again and Remus glanced to the young woman, then looked back at the man in the.. was that a uniform? Before letting out a slow breath and shook his head some. "Earth." He finally responded. Where else would they be? Of course they were on Earth. It wasn't a facsimile. It really was Earth. It had to be. But why would this man think it wasn't? Maybe he was sick.. escaped from Mungo's, or something. He wasn't sure.. all he was sure of, was that he wanted to find his way home. But without his wand (not that he was able to use magic outside of school anyway..) he'd be hard pressed to do that.

The boy was a bundle of nerves, apparently. Kind of reminded Illyana of Doug when he'd first joined the New Mutants. That thought caused her mind to flash back to the funeral, to Doug's body lying in that casket, motionless. She closed her eyes and turned her head for a moment. Not the time to think about things like that. She looked up as he replied and forced a sarcastic smile on her face. She'd figured as much.

Then, the other man was moving and talking, and she shifted her attention to him quickly, in case he was a potential threat. He was talking almost kind of like 'Lock, with the super-formal, almost sci-fi sounding words. Or kind of like Xavier had, when he was around. "I think it's Earth," she agreed. Not that she'd seen many planets, but she could tell from the way he worded the question that he had. Maybe he was one of the emissaries from the Shi'Ar? She noticed his ears, and her eyes widened just a bit, but she didn't think much of it. When you lived with the people Illyana did, a couple of pointy ears looked pretty normal. "It certainly isn't...." She trailed off, scowling at her almost-slip. Way to go, Illyana, just blurt out all your problems to two complete strangers.

She looked back at the boy, who had been messing with a box before the other guy had spoken. "Whatcha got there?" she asked.
