Who: Jack Harkness and Rose Tyler
What: Reunited (and it feels so good!)
Where: Just Outside the Museum
When: Day 15, early evening, around 7ish
Rating: PG-13ish
Status: Active

When she'd first woken up in this horrible place, Rose had been able to acknowledge that it was strange. There was obviously something off about it and it didn't take a genius like her traveling companion to figure that out. Even her slower mind could follow. But now... Now, it wasn't just creepy. It was cruel. There was torture around every turn and fear in most everyone's eyes, even if they didn't show it on the surface. She'd gotten good at watching people lately, and she knew she was in serious trouble just by watching the others. They all were.

Despite warnings to not go off by herself, Rose...was, well, Rose. Going off by herself was what she did best. Right behind getting into trouble alone and getting out of trouble with help. Besides, she wasn't going far. It was getting dark, even if just barely, and she didn't trust herself to not get into real truoble. So she walked outside of the museum, the hostel style environment that the pretty Shannon had invited her to. She hadn't caught sight of Jack yet, but she knew he was around and that's all that mattered. And the Doctor...probably in there being social and meeting everything with a pulse. It was one of those things she loved about him.

Sliding down the wall in front of the building, Rose wrapped herself more tightly in her blue hooded jacket and pulled the hood over her head. She didn't do so in an effort to keep warm; this place was similar to England with its temperatures and though it was likely to get colder as it got later, she wasn't likely to freeze. But it was nice to be able to hide from so many strange faces. As kind as everyone had been, it was still the most surreal thing ever. Plus that feeling that someone was hiding something from her. It was an uneasy sensation, and she curled her arms around her knees as she held her breath and released it slowly, letting the events of the day wash over her.

Rose squealed as she came back down, though she was laughing. Especially considering her landing point. Rolling her eyes, she let him kiss her, then brushed the lock of hair that always flopped in his face out of his eyes. "Liar. You're suuuuch a liar, Jack Harkness. I'd sell every handbag I had to have someone look at me the way you look at him." She kissed him this time, but a sisterly brush of lips against his cheek. "You, Jack Harkness, adore that man. He may be your employee at this Torchwood, but outside? He is so much more."

She'd seen Jack in flirting mode. You didn't travel with the good captain for more than a day or two and not see that. He even flirted with her, much as he was doing just that moment. And there was a difference in his posture, in his expressions, and in his general manner when he was around Ianto. "And he is in, you git, and if he peers out this window and sees you kissing me? I'm not winning his affections any time soon."

Oh how he loved the sounds she made, particularly that high pitched little squeal of hers. There was a grin firmly set into his face as he looped his arms loosely around her waist. "I'm not a liar." Which they both knew was a lie, Mr Con-Man extraordinaire." Moving his hand quickly, he cupped her chin in his hand and stole yet another kiss from her. "If I'm such a good liar, then maybe I'm lying about those looks. Besides, you haven't seen me around him. You're just cooking all this up."

Didn't matter if she was telling the truth. Not like Jack could admit to that.

Jack would always be a flirt, particularly with those he loved. "If he peers out the window and sees me snogging you, he'll either roll his eyes or come out here and look to join us."

He made it really, really tempting to just keep kissing him. It had been a while since she'd gotten kissed, and especially that sweetly. Mickey tried, bless him, but it just wasn't the same.

But he wasn't hers. He never had been, not really. And Rose craved something entirely her own. Despite her love for Jack, she knew he'd never settle down. The fact that he had a lover who'd easily accept him snogging a woman right in front of him was proof enough of that. Rose? Couldn't do that. Every time a woman looked in the Doctor's direction she shuddered. Not that they were dating or anything. Not exactly. Honestly, no one 'dated' the Doctor! He was a Time Lord for Heaven's sake.

So she merely snuggled into his hold on her, resting her face in the warm place between his neck and his shoulder. "You're the worst of liars, Jack Harkness. One might almost believe you were comfortable, you know that?" Absently, one hand reached up to play with his hair. "Anything else I need to know of? Got a girlfriend on the side, too? Kids, alien lovers?"

Of course he made it tempting. That was because he was Captain Jack Harkness who made kissing into an Olympic sport. Jack knew how a woman (or man, or ficus) deserved to be kissed and that was how he kissed. He put his whole heart and soul into it, because he did care about everyone he ever kissed on some level.

No, Jack wasn't hers -- but Jack wasn't really anyone's. Well... the only man who had ever come close to completely capturing Jack's heart was one Ianto Jones. But even as smitten as he was, Jack still flirted and snogged and slept around as he wanted. But Ianto understood Jack's needs and there was that little saying that went if Jack didn't sleep around, Ianto would never be able to sit down.

Still, Jack enjoyed holding Rose so close, enjoyed her scent as it enveloped him completely. "I don't lie. He would try to join us. He may look innocent but there's one hell of a dirty mind beneath those suits." Jack grinned, leaning his head into her gentle touch. "Well, you call be a liar so even if I did tell you the truth about kids and alien lovers, you probably wouldn't be inclined to listen."

Rose adored this man. In all his flirtatious, sexually adventurous glory. She just didn't necessarily want to be on his 'list'. Well. Sort of. Maybe Ianto would be okay with him messing around, but Rose didn't want to be the cause of that. Ianto seemed too sweet.

But she had to giggle at the comment about Ianto's dirty mind. "It's always the quiet ones, you know. They seem so innocent on the surface and then you get them in the bedroom..." Her voice trailed off and she nudged him teasingly with her elbow. Still, she made no effort to sit up. "You know, at the end of the day? I don't know that I could keep up with you!" She was mostly teasing, but she meant it, too. "And I would not call you a liar...okay, sorry, I think I might have to."

What made matters worse was that Jack knew just how much Rose adored him. And, perhaps, had things been different, he would have eventually taken advantage of her. But he knew where her heart lay and he wouldn't attempt to screw with that. So, in the end, all he would do was what he was doing right now. Flirting like hell with her.

"It is always the quiet ones," Jack agreed, getting a bit of a far-away look in his eyes. "Oh that man in the bedroom..." Amazing, he could have that same look that Ianto had when talking to Martha. "You would call me a liar, even if I said I had a daughter."

Rose rolled her eyes and smacked him playfully. He was incorrigable. No matter how much she loved him, she would never be used to him. But then, that was half the fun, wasn't it? Always on your toes with Jack Harkness. And...yeah. Always on other things.

The thought brought a giggle to her mind as she tried to force the images of 'that man in the bedroom' out of her mind. It had been way too long for her to go around thinking that way. In fact, she was pretty sure after that stop in Cardiff, Mickey wouldn't want near her ever again. But then, he deserved someone who could give herself fully to him.

So instead, she focused on his other sentence. "You're damn right I would!" she snorted, rolling her eyes again. "You as a parent? Does her mother know what she got herself into?" Easing herself out of his lap and back to his side, she grinned and shook his head. "Is she green? Polka-dotted? I know! You conceived her on Raxacoricofallapatorius, didn't you? Got yourself a little Slitheen egg somewhere!"
