Experiment Part Two: Doctor Elliot Reid and Doctor Leonard McCoy
Who: Doctor's Reid and McCoy
What: Being blind - fat lot of good that does them!
Where: An undisclosed location
When: Day 15, 11:14 AM
Rating: PG, PG-13

Status: Active

Hello doctor's come on down! You're the next contestant on let's lose our sense of sight! Well, look at you both. Doctor Reid who nearly suffocated (just like poor Sid!) and Doctor McCoy who'd just watched himself disemboweled. Doctor Reid, you're probably feeling a bit congested and hoarse right about now from all that smoke; and Bones? You're all sorts of beat up following your expedition into the world of surgery from yesteryear. You'll be more careful the next time you sedate someone, won't you?

Well, for this pair of well trained hands (or would it be a quartet?) we have an experience in blindness. For now, the room is quiet. It's well lit (though you can't tell!) and it's warm. Very warm. Warm enough that you're already sweating. (Keep your clothes on, Elliot we wouldn't want Bones to see your Va-Jay-Jay!)

So, you two get acquainted. We'll be back with you again soon enough. Oh, and mind the benches we brought in just for you. They're kind of all over the place just waiting for you to trip on' em. We heart you.

This time it was Elliot's turn to flinch as she heard a man's voice. It wasn't Andy's, she knew that much, and the possibility that it could be the person who had put her in the glass cage before and tried to suffocate her, made her freeze in fear. She heard something fall over and she reached our and pushed herself up from the bench she'd knocked into, preparing to run.

"You can't?" She breathed, shivering as she moved forward. She thought she could hear whispering, but maybe it was just the wind. Were they ouside? Inside? She couldn't tell. She moved forward towards his voice, running into another bench. "Frick!" She gasped as her shin connected.

She thought she felt something brush her clothes. "No, I'm not alright," she admitted, wrapping her arms around herself. "Someone just tried to kill me and now I'm blind. I'm not alright."

To confuse McCoy's voice with Andy's would be like confusing the Doctor's with Dean's. McCoy had a smooth, almost southern accent that permeated his words; and it seemed the more slowly he spoke, the more pronounced it became.

"No, I can't," he said quietly, feeling out the bench and taking a seat on it. He could feel that ridiculously close presence and it was unnerving. If she could see his face, she'd know just how very much it made him uncomfortable as demonstrated by the crinkle between his brows and the downturn at the corner of his lips.

"Oh, I know just how you feel." Really, he did. "Now, I don't know where we are, but I'm starting to think this isn't one of that pointy ear'd bastard's training missions.,." He couldn't blame this on Spock anymore, could he?

"Well, you're just about as alright as I am..." Did that sound as cynical as it did. Oops.

Wherever they were it was warm. Elliot could feel the heat like a heaviness bearing down on her and making her sweat. She moved forward towards his voice, inhaling sharply as she thought she felt something else brush her face.

She felt around her with her hands, but was still too high to register the bench in front of her, as she hit her shin on another bench. She reached down and rubbed at it viciously. "Training mission?" Elliot repeated incredulously. He'd thought that all of this was some kind of hazing? Where did he come from that these forms of torture could be considered normal? She hesitated for a moment, wondering if maybe she was better keeping her distance, but the thought of being on her own in the dark terrified her. She wondered if his warm, southern voice was just another cruel trick.

"Please keep talking," Elliot said, hating the way her voice sounded so lost. She took a deep breath and lowered her hands as she moved forward. "I'm coming to you."
