Experiment Part Two: Dean Winchester and Selene
Who: Dean and Selene
What: Watching, just watching
Where: An undisclosed location
When: Day 15, 11:01 AM
Rating: PG-13, R, perhaps.

Status: Active

Welcome to the panic room, for all your panicking needs! Here, my lovelies, you'll find a pair of cots, a shelf of food (and even a packet of blood, just for you Selene! We wouldn't want you eating Dean before this was all said and done!), and a wall of television monitors. The steel walls are impervious, darlings; though, you can bang on them all night long if it'll make you feel better! The door is easy to point out; though. any hinges or pulls are set into the thick steel and unable to be tampered with. Clearly, this place is meant to be a safe house; keeping you safe from the world and the world safe from you!

There are a total of fifteen monitors on three shelves. For now, they play the home shopping network. The sound is muted, but you can see that if you want you can buy a Pedi-Egg for $14.99. Next up we have a line of camping equipment; that must make both of your hearts go pitter pat!

Well, Dean, following your time with our surgeon you'll find a few deep scratches; but nothing like what you thought was happening to you (oops!) and Selene, you seem unscathed. Wasn't that a nice fellow who'd kept you out of the fire? Oh, but you are still quite bloody; sorry we didn't have time to clean you up!

Well, kiddos, get comfy, show starts soon!

Dean was dazed at best. Delirious at worst. His body ached and sharp pains shot through him from time to time like reminders of the holy terror he'd been through. As if he could possibly forget the scalpel and the sadistic bastard who seemed to function beyond the reaches of reality.

Rubbing his head to stem the tide of the headache forming there, Dean sat up from the cot. He would really have rather closed his eyes and slept until there was nothing left. Two things prevented this. The fact that he was never going to think of himself as safe ever again and the probability of nightmares including the screams he'd heard and the ones he'd done himself. The only thing he could think of right now was that he hoped to heaven that Lexie was not going through anything remotely like what he'd just been through.

His eyes wandered from his still blood-covered clothes and skin, over the shelf of food and across the television monitors that vaguely reminded him of late nights on the road in those motels with the Magic Hands beds where quarters and a few infomercials could settle anyone into sleep despite the lack of a working AC unit. Or company.

But he did have company. He'd never seen her before either and the idea that there might be other glass bubbles besides the one he had been in began to formulate and bloom in his mind. Was this like the Matrix in some way? He'd watched that movie on late night cable too. People in a computer program or in large harvesting machines being put through the rigors as some higher power saw fit. Could she be his female equivalent in some other glass covered experiment?

"Hey," he said and coughed as he suddenly realized his voice worked properly again. "Hey, are you okay?"

Whatever they gave her was making the vampire dream... horrible dreams. Sights of a world crawling with lycans that turned faster than they could be killed. Of people with rotting flesh who still tried to walk and breathe as they selfishly killed those nearest them. Later, when she remembered them, she would know that they weren't dreams but ancient memories. Dark sights from before her time yet flashing through her head as if she had lived them all. It hadn't been like this when she drank Viktor's blood all those centuries ago.

One moment she was out cold, quite literally as her chest didn't move and her heart was barely beating, and then next she was jerking awake, drawing in a heavy gasp of air and a hand raised to grab at some unforseen attacker. When she realized she was in a different place she uncurled her fist and raked her fingers through her hair, only to lower her hands and look at the dried blood that still clung to her skin. ...wait, she could see! If the vampire were the praying type she just might have done so. As it was she didn't have much time to absorb that fact as the much stronger scent of blood, and the sound of a quickly beating heart, told her she wasn't alone. The voice helped too, which she noticed easily was quite different from the Doctor's. Oh hell, she hoped he was alright. Normally the vampire wasn't so quick to care but anyone who kept her from turning into ash kind of gained her trust rather quickly.

"Much better than I was." Bright blue eyes swept over the room and Selene got up, walking to the monitors. It reminded her of their safehouses, whoever set it up definitely knew what they were doing, except there were no controls she could get to. She then turned to the door and set about running her hands along the edges, searching for weak points. There were none. She could probably impact the steel but she doubted she would be so lucky as to break it. The feel of that seemingly iron grip was very vivid in her mind and if the beings here were strong enough to manhandle a vampire then they most likely would build a place like this strong enough to resist her abilities. "Fucking hell..."

Finally she could ignore the man no longer. She'd been managing fairly well but being trapped in a small space, there was only so far she could go to get away from that oh so familiar smell. And that wasn't counting the drying blood on her clothes. No, his smelled fresh, and that was dangerous. "What happened to you?" Selene remained by the door as she looked him over, not trusting herself to get too close. Her bloodlust had already been piqued when she tried to clean the blood off her skin back in the other room. Again she had the thought that all this was done with a clear purpose. Trap a vampire in a room with fire, now with a bloodied human. Why was she being tested?

Dean watched the woman with as curious a gaze as he could manage. He was simply exhausted. The pangs of pain from the previous part of the experiment were constant but fading slowly, thank goodness. He sighed, not out of frustration but purely reflexively due to the stress he had been under. He wanted to sleep so badly but here he was. There was a girl with him. He couldn't sleep. He had to be sure she was safe from whatever the fuckers had in store next for them. He was sure it wasn't going to be rest and relaxation. No Magic Hands today, Winchester.

He glanced down at himself when she asked what happened to him. He almost laughed, the sound coming out in a short, mirthless snort. "Alien probes or something. Naked and strapped to a table while some jerk on a power trip played god."

He wasn't about to share the details with her. For one, she was female and no girl he'd ever met would want to hear about him being sliced open and explored while fully alert. For another, he'd begun to feel shame while on that table. Shame for being so weak as to have been captured and put through this type of thing twice. He wasn't going to have any chick flick moments over that tidbit of information.

"What happened to you?" he asked, though she didn't seem to be a great deal worse for the wear. Of course. Because if she was his female counterpart that was further added shame. The girl could hack it where Dean could not. Right. Thanks for the greater emasculation.

He sank down in the cot again and tried to ignore the infomercials as they flashed bright colors through the room and against the metal surface of the walls like a carnival ride all around them. He was unaware that every move he made sent a waft of his scent and his blood toward her. He was too undone to really notice anything other than the fact that she was strange. Those bright blue eyes would cause him to wonder in a bit but for now he was resting and waiting for the next shoe to drop.

One of her brows raised curiously at his comment, or at least at the first part of it. When he mentioned being strapped to a table her mind flashed on some of the set-ups in the coven's safehouses, where the lycans were questioned, or experimented on, or whatever it was they did with them. That wasn't part of her job description so she'd never particularly paid attention. Hearing about his ordeal, though, made her feel a little less worked up about hers. She hadn't actually been hurt after all, just close to.

"Taunted, shoved around, and nearly pushed into a fire. Which might not have been so bad if I hadn't been somehow blind at the time." She said it so matter-of-fact, as if she hadn't been both panicking and raging on the inside. But this human didn't need to know that.

And she was certain he was human. The scent of his blood alone told her that. Speaking of... She turned away from him and walked back to the monitors, both to inspect them more closely and to try and distract herself. Catching her reflection in one of the screens she could see the state of her eyes, and a quick swipe of her tongue over her teeth told her that her fangs were still slightly extended. Great. Well, he did look exhausted. Perhaps he would pass out and then she wouldn't have to worry about him noticing anything strange about her. Not that it would keep her from wanting to keep that fresh blood from going to waste. Cursing incoherently under her breath, Selene turned her attention to the shelf of food only to have to hold back a groan at the familiar sight of a packet of blood, which she was quick to shove behind cans to hide from both their views. They wanted her to feed... whoever the hell 'they' were, they had to. And it might just be too much temptation for the vampire to resist.

To Dean's nose, he smelled like rancid meat. The blood drying on his skin and into his clothes made him remember the bile that had risen to his throat when he'd been under the surgeon's unseen blade. Restlessly he shrugged out of the offending shirt, leaving himself shirtless in the flashing glow of the infomercials. He could see the strange peach color of his skin in a warped reflection on the wall and watched as the green shirt, a blob of color, was tossed onto the floor beside the cot.

The girl was odd at best but he'd seen some pretty bizarre people in his time. She had a way about her that seemed both graceful and barbaric to him. But that was just brief glances in between taking off his shirt, glancing around again and settling into the cot once more. She was attractive in that dark, emo sort of way. He wondered if she'd ever thought about updating her look. The least of their worries here though. It was the trivial shit that was occurring to him now. That made him chuckle just as she did her incoherent cursing. He hadn't heard her though.

"Sounds like they want us to sit tight and wait for even more fun and games. Whatever happens, we'll make it through this. That's the fun. For them." And he knew. Oh did he know. He could almost feel the tattoo they'd forced on him when they'd taken him the first day. The one that had burned black and ominous over his head for so long. He wasn't going to think about it now though. Just get through the present, Winchester. Keep her from harm as much as you can and get through it.

"So what do you do in the real world? Law enforcement?" he guessed, toying with the idea that everyone he'd encountered had tried to apply to his real world profession since he wasn't exactly forthcoming about what he really did. He and Sam had given every profession in the book from traveling clergy to door-to-door vacuum salesmen to evade answering that question. He'd bet she had an equally secretive occupation. She was, after all, his female counterpart. Wasn't she?

The rustling of fabric made her glance over and she just as quickly glanced away. If she stared too long she would swear she could see the pulse of his blood under his skin, tapping out a beat and just waiting for her to have a taste. No! Mustn't think about feeding. Think about trying to get out of this place, wherever it was. She again went to the door and rested a hand where a knob might normally be. Perhaps if she hit the door at an angle where it joined the wall it would bend enough that she could get a decent hold? Metal was tricky, and less familiar to her than stone or wood.

"Who's they?" His talking drew her attention, and she noted how different he seemed from the first person she'd encountered. Younger, that was for sure. Didn't sound as confident either. But Selene was used to that, from human and vampire alike. "Where is this place?" It was probably obvious she was new. Didn't even have her survival kit yet.

She lightly crossed her arms over her chest, doing her best to ignore the dried blood on her coat -- that was going to be a pain to clean off, perhaps she'd get to it here shortly just to distract herself -- and leaned a shoulder against the door. From where she was she could see him and the wall of monitors easily, and should any noise come from the other side of the door she could hear that as well. "You could say that."
