Who: Rose and Remy
What: Discovering that the kidnap/experiment wasn't just a bad dream
Where: The Thrift Store
When: 12:54 PM, Day 15
Rating: PG
Status: Complete!

The first thing Rose noticed upon regaining feeling in her body was the cool chill of the air. Her first thought was that she was home. Not where she wanted to be, not fighting those Daleks as she'd originally intended, but home at least. Mum wouldn't believe her, and Mickey would likely blog about what she'd told him, but there you had it. Then she could get back to the task at hand. Figuring out what to do with her life knowing the Doctor and Jack were out there fighting for theirs.

But as her eyes slowly opened, she knew instantly that wasn't the case. She wasn't warm in her bed, nor was she on her front walk. This wasn't even London. Rubbing her eyes, Rose attempted to focus on getting her vision back. What she saw was appalling. A ghost town. That was the first thing that came to her mind. And she was slumped by a building. Well, at least someone had the courtesy to set her upright instead of letting her head lay in the dirt.

She didn't even try to stand up. Everything felt weak, weaker even than when she'd woken up next to old crotchety whatshisface. Instead, she pulled her knees up to her chest and glanced around, trying to figure out where she was or if anyone knew what was going on. According to Dr. House man, they didn't, but surely there couldn't be a whole city where no one...

Well, alright, maybe there could. They'd found entire planets where no one had a clue. Cities should be obvious.

That? Was possibly the weirdest freaking thing she'd ever heard. "Did you actually say ninety-ninety three?" Maybe she'd heard the accent wrong? "I mean... two-thousand five here, mate, are you sure about that?" People pulled from different times... That sounded like Dalek style work. Just another reminder of what she should have been doing.

Or...perhaps already did. If Jack was there...and alive and okay and still sporting around that bloody coat... Though she may have failed hullabaloo, she wasn't exactly stupid, either. Time was complicated. Insanely so. More complex than she could ever dream. Something wasn't adding up. But somehow it already was. "The beanie's cute on you," she chose instead, focusing her eyes on the top of his head instead of the swirling in front of her eyes. Focus and she wouldn't faint.

"Oui, 'das where I'm from." He smiled easily, and was moving forward to stand in front of her. "M'sure." He promised, tilting his head a little to the side as she mentioned the hat was cute. He, of course, didn't know what a 'beanie' was, but he liked the way it sounded coming out of her mouth. And when she started to look a little weak and her eyes went a little foggy, he stepped in again and wrapped an arm around her back, tugging her in against him to steady her.

"You doin' okay, chere? Maybe you wanna lay down, non? You look like y' gonna be sick.." He smiled a bit more and began walking back, slowly tugging her along as he did. And yes, Rose, his body was all hard planes and muscle. With Jack and this guy here, Rose would be having a hard time not bouncing back and forth.

Rose flushed a bit, smiling sheepishly as she was pulled against him. Definitely more than flirting at that point. Mostly because she wasn't just flushing from her shock at the very idea that Jack might be there. It'd been a long time since she'd let anyone other than Mickey hold her close.

Reaching up to steady herself didn't really help either, as the only thing to reach towards was this incredible stranger's rather firm chest. She couldn't help herself. She giggled slightly. "Hi there," she said, then laughed harder. "Oh, sorry, I'm being a right idiot, aren't I?" Ducking her head, she allowed her hair to cover her face, which was bright pink. "I'm okay. I'm fine, really. Just...still in a bit of shock, I think." And more than a little grateful to be a damsel in distress when this was her rescuer.

"You ain' bein' a idio', don' worry." He assured with a easy, charming smile, before he began to move his feet, urging her into a short, slow dance. "C'mon, Rose. You gon' be fine. You wanna stick 'roun' uh lil'? Wha' you say? I grab you some wa'er.. ge' you somet'in' t' ea'.. an' you take uh nap here, non? I go' 'de bes' place in 'de 'tire town." He assured her again, before slowly bringing their dance to an end, after a full revelation, and he spun her around to face the bed, then wrapped those long, strong arms around her from behind, hands clasping in front of her waist.

"See? Look a' 'dat. Ain' look comfy? You take uh nap here, you gon' be jus' fine." In which time, he'd watch her a bit and make sure she was okay, before going out to meet the Doctor. He was pushing back taking her on this little tour. But he would, eventually, and he'd drop her off at the museum when he did. But not yet.

Good God he was comfortable. Did he know how comfortable? She had to wonder. Some men, like Jack, just did. Some, like Mickey, thought they were but just weren't sure. And the Doctor... Well, Rose was pretty sure he'd never know just how easy it was letting him hold her and make the bad things go away.

But Remy wasn't the Doctor, as comforting as he was, and her face fell a little. Napping might bring nightmares. But it had been one hell of a day, and it couldn't have been quite late afternoon yet, even. "I... You're sure you don't mind?" she asked, glancing up at him waywardly. "I mean, I don't want to impose. You've got some amazing digs here." Despite herself, she giggled at her choice of wording. It was just so completely un-Rose. Like Rose trying to be cooler than Rose actually was. And maybe she was trying to impress, just a little bit.

"Non." He laughed some and slowly released her, to nudge her towards the large couch-turned-bed. "G'wan. Comfy." He promised her, lifting his eyebrows and tilting his head some to the side. "An' I wake you up soon, d'accord? Ain' gon' le' y' sleep all day." He reached out to tug some on her hair with a smile, before nodding towards the comfortable blankets again. "Gon' be 'de bes' place you ever sleep here, fille." He assured simply, before taking a step back and pushing gloved hands into his pockets once more.

She sure was pretty, and he was wondering if she and the Doctor... no. Definitely not. The Doctor would have said something. Right? Right.

Rose hesitated and took another look back at him. Oh, Mum wouldn't just kill her, she'd slay her alive. Now she wasn't only going home with strange men, but sleeping in their beds. And this bloke was like Jimmy times ten. Only sweeter.

And she told him so. "You're sweet," she offered, turning around to stand on her toes and brush a kiss against his cheek. "I'm honestly hoping I'll wake up and find this is some cracked out dream. And if it is, I'm glad you were in it." She took a seat at the edge of his make-shift bed, running a hand over it to discover how soft it really was. "Perfect," she declared, beaming up at him. "Worth every blanket and sheet you stuck in there." Carefully, she kicked off her trainers with the toe of each foot. Even if she was sleeping in a stranger's bed in the middle of nowhere, she wasn't putting dirty feet in his bed. Bad manners! "Promise you won't let me sleep too long? I still need my tour, after all."

His smile broke out wider across his face when she kissed his cheek and he lifted a hand to brush over the spot. That had been nice. "I hope 'dis a dream too, chere." But he only came closer to stand and watch as she climbed up onto the 'bed' and complimented it. He laughed some and nodded once, tucking chilly hands back into his pockets. "Won' le' you sleep too lon', promise. Gon' wake you up an' give you y' tour soon. Bu' gonna le' you sleep firs'." He bent then, once she was settled in, and he tossed the top blanket over her, making sure to cover her head with it, laughing as he did. "G'wan, relax. You gon' need you streng'h."

With that, he was stepping away and moving to the couch on the other side of the free-standing couch, settling down on his back with a sigh. Felt nice.

Rose giggled as the blanket fell over her head and she wiggled out so she could peek over the top. "Sweet and silly," she added, smiling up at him. So long as he didn't kill her while she slept, she ought to be okay there. And then she'd have plenty of time to figure out what happened next.

But for the moment, her head hurt, she was tired, and her mind was in a thousand different places. With the sound of Remy going about his time, Rose breathed a deep sigh of her own and fell more asleep than she had in days.
