Day 15: 10:02 AM, Theater
Who: Wide Open to anyone
What: A party, just for you!
Where: The Theater
When: 10:00 AM - 12:00PM
Rating: PG

Status: Active

They'd had some trying days, hadn't they, these guests of Vas Captio? They needed a rest, or at least something warm to eat, right? Don't worry, dear ones, those men behind the curtain care very, very much for your mental and physical well being. Yes, yes we do!

For those brave souls who heeded the call into the theater they would find it lavishly decorated. Wreaths and ribbons strung from the balconies, linens were laid out on a long banquet table. Atop the table there are several large platters filled with an array of hot, steaming foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, and ice cold drinks. More specifically characters will find: Hamburgers, Spaghetti, a large crock of chicken noodle soup, a sushi platter, a fruit platter, a large bowl of fresh mixed greens, steaks, and a large vat of chilli. There is beer, and cold water, and <i>coffee</i>.

"Welcome Survivors!" Proclaims a banner strung across the stage.

Captives are welcome to eat and drink to their hearts content. There is nothing wrong with the food dears. Problem is, if you try and take the food out. You see, the moment that you cross the threshhold with your salad or your steak or your chilli, or even your beer it rots. Really rots. The Sushi turns to blackened sludge, the lettuce wilts and goes slimey, and the chicken noodle soup turns and odd mix of black and green as the noodles fall apart before your eyes. Sorry, you all aren't allowed to share.

Party time ends at Noon. Don't worry, we won't let you forget.

Remy LeBeau, Master Thief, mutant, and extraordinary lover, had once again battled his way through the arctic tundra outside. He'd dodged the polar bears, skirted around the mating penguins, avoided the saber tooth tigers, and out run the wooly mammoths to get to the safety (and warmth) that the theater provided. He'd gone out earlier that morning with Dean to collect up plenty of food and haul it to the museum. He'd been sure to eat some, so at least he wasn't starving anymore.

However, that would change once he saw all the food.

He was complaining as he came through the door of the theater, bitching about the sudden temperature change in French, and wondering how they expected him to survive. He had hugged the duplicate of Jack Harkness' jacket closer to his thinner frame and panted out a few breaths once inside. But then he saw the food and red eyes got wide.

Now, the Cajun wasn't a stupid man, but nor was he very cautious when he probably should have been. He was moving out cold, gloved hands to snag up a piece of fruit and immediately took a bite. Oh, that tasted amazing. Really amazing. He snagged himself a plate and filled it with food before snagging a glass of beer and going to sit in one of the theater seats, letting out a contented breath. It wasn't until he was completely finished with his plate (and after he'd had a second one, and a few more beers), half an hour later, that he finally stretched out. He had taking a few moments to rather violently kick out the plastic arms of a few of those seats, to make five in a row that had no arms-- a perfect, long bed. And after some jimmying with the locking mechanism on the seats, he was able to get them to all stay down. Oh, that was nice. He had his own little bed here.

Really, the red-head could make himself comfortable anywhere. He was resourceful. Just look at his bed in the barn!

But, after having realized there was too much here for him to eat by himself, and after trying to smuggle it out of the theater and seeing it rot (that had been disgusting and a horrible tragedy), he'd finally decided to flip open his journal and make a few notations in it.

The other occupants of Vas Captio were lucky that he'd had a few (six) beers, or he may not have told them at all. But right now, he was a little tipsy and not in his right mind. Everyone, mark your calendars, the Cajun was going to share.

Lexie hadn't eaten at all yesterday following her bout with the chocolate in the pharmacy. In fact, even thinking about that whole thing had made her stomach roll in a way that made her mentally promise she'd never touch anything chocolate ever again out of fear her stomach might decide to rebel.

Pulling on her sweatshirt Lexie left the gym. She didn't know where Elliot and Dean had gotten off to; but, she couldn't just sit there all day. Maybe they'd turn up in the Theater? Made sense to her - if there was food, real food; well, Lexie wasn't going to turn her nose up at it. A girl can only live on chocolate, water, and chips for so long. God I hope this guy wasn't kidding.

Pushing open the double doors and slipping quietly down the aisle, Lexie's jaw dropped first at the decorations and then at the table of food. She didn't see Gambit there, lounging like a kitty cat in his seats. No, she was too transfixed on that banner. "Survivors?" She asked, shaking her head. The very notion making her appetite slide away quite abruptly.

"Gee, thanks."

"Welcome." Came the voice from those chairs. But even with that one word, the accent was unmistakable. Cajun. However, Gambit wasn't sitting up, he was sprawled out on his stomach and contentedly warm, thanks to the beer he'd had. And he was drawing in his journal. Just.. don't even mention that, if you saw it, Lexi. Or he'd draw you.

"'De foo' ain' poison or not'in', bu' you can' take it ou' 'de door, or it rot an' fall 'par'. Ain' pretty." Only after he said that did he push up onto his hands and look up over the backs of the seats. "Lexie, non? You was lookin' f' Dean? Me an' him wen' to 'de house earlier. Grab some foo' from 'dere, ain' seen him since." Wouldn't it figure that it was this strange, red-eyed man who'd seen Dean last..

'Welcome!' She heard and Lexie physically yelped and jumped and she turned to spy the Cajun caught up on that row of seats like a little kid and his coloring book. Dammit! Lexie thought, still quite petrified of the red eyed man. Sure, some people could take physical abnormalities in stride. They could look at them like they weren't looking at them. In Lexie's mind, red eyes meant the devil. She was looking at a man with red eyes. This is not normal.

Lexie clammed up, crossing her arms. "I'm not hungry." Good lie, Lex.

Then Gambit said something that caught her attention. He asked if she was looking for Dean. "No..." Slight lie. She'd put up a note in her journal asking if anyone had seen him; though, she wasn't at the point of searching the town for him. "Oh, I didn't know he'd gone out for the food..." She said, looking back toward the door.

"You know, starin' ain' poli'e, chere. You gon' keep lookin' at me like 'dat an' I'm gon' star' feelin' like I'ma freak or somet'in'." It was a light tease and he languidly pushed up, stretching his back some as he did. Oh, that made him feel light headed. No more alcohol, Cajun, or you were going to throw up all that food you'd just eaten. With a little yawn, he rubbed at the side of his face. He was just about ready for a nice nap, thanks to his full stomach.

"Wasn' you jus' askin' in 'de book wha' anyone seen him? Jus' sayin' I seen him. Wen' for 'de foo', been back 'fore light, he shoul'a been back to where-ever he been sleepin' lon' 'fore now. You worrie' chere?" That was asked with a little curl of his lips. "Ain' gon' hur' you, jus' go an' try 'de foo', tas'e good, promise." And with that, he was turning and relaxing back onto his make-shift couch again, stretching his body like an overgrown lap cat. Ooh, that was nice.

Lexie looked away, her expression far from sheepish and more along the lines of frustrated. She'd been caught staring and that was poor form. "Sorry," she coughed. "She shook her head, looking back up again. "Listen, I have to ask. And I only ask because if I don't ask I'll just keep looking at you funny. And I don't want to look at you funny because you're stuck here just like the rest of us. I mean, I think you're stuck just like the rest of us, but I'm not sure. I mean, you could be part of this whole thing, right? I mean, I don't really know who you are. But, I guess what I'm trying to ask--" Lexie breathed. In the span of that entire run on sentence with little pause and words that ran together as she spoke entirely too quickly she finally took a breath. "What are you?"

Lexie looked to the table and then back to the mutant. "I didn't even know he'd gone," this implied, of course, that Lexie had known where he was before he went for food and that she was probably with him. Usually people weren't labelled as gone if they weren't with you. Another look to the food. Not yet, not until she knew what she was dealing with.

"Oui, stuck here 'de same as you. An' non, ain' par' o' 'dis whole t'in'. An' I'm wha' 'dey call a mutan'." He sat forward again, crossing one leg and letting the other dangle, half indian-style. Casual, comfortable. That was the way he liked it. "I'm uh human, jus' like you, bu' I go' somet'in' in me make me differen' lookin', 'dey say it's uh muta'aion of 'de human DNA. So I ain' technically human, I guess-- we a differen' species, bu' still close enough we ain' comple'ly differen'. An' don' go t'inkin' I look 'dat differen', 'cause I don'. He leaned back more comfortably into the chair backs behind him once he was done with his speech, eyebrows lifting slowly.

"Ques'ions?" Because, apparently, he was willing to answer them. Get a few beers in him and Remy sure loved to talk.

Jenny wandered in to the area. It had been some days since she'd holed up there in the hidden hallway of actor rooms. The place she'd spent so much time worrying about someone finding her before she killed herself when she'd been tossed inside the game for betraying her captors. The place she'd attempted to explore with Locke in order to give him his medication which she'd been sure to bring with her since they weren't planning on giving it to him. Except he'd gone and gotten himself expelled or killed or whatever.

She wasn't interested in the food. Or the people here. She couldn't bring herself to be okay with Remy just not. Not with what she knew about him and how cooly he treated her all the time. The one person she wanted to spend time with was L and he was busy. With Laura.

There were thick paper plates on one table and plenty of fruit. She filled up an entire plate on that stuff and settled on the fringes of the area, in the shadows, to pick at the fruit. The plan was to be left alone while being near people even still and most likely she would be.

The Cajun, after prompting Lexie, then staring down in his journal to write a few things, finally looked up and around. Poor Lexie wouldn't get a chance to answer his cheeky question. "Now I feel like uh ass. Why you ain' c'mon ov'r here, chere? Go' plen'y room. Ain' gon' bi'e. Where you been?" Curious Cajun, who was turning to lean on the back of his seats and brace his arms on them, hands folding and resting there, so his chin could settle atop them as those red eyes focused intently on her. He was in Jack Harkness' jacket, of course.. and a button-up dress shirt now. But it didn't matter.. it'd been about time he changed his clothes.

And soon, he'd be recommending it to the Doctor. Blue suit. Really?

"I'm not worried about you biting, Remy," she said quietly from where she sat. She'd asked him to leave her alone and he'd ignored her request so what was she to do now? She didn't trust him anymore. Remy really didn't have it in him to be a good person. She knew that now, not just from reading it on a piece of paper but she'd experienced it.

Why he looked like he was trying to fit in with the Time Lord and the Immortal side kick she couldn't say. It was strange and had she not known what she did about him she might have trusted him even more with him in that get up. Instead it fueled her feeling of betrayal.

"I didn't mean to interrupt you, chere. Go back to what you were doing, please." Her voice was pleasant and she forked a piece of cantaloupe, pushing it past her lips in a languid manner before chewing it with a smile.

"Why you bein' so col', chere?" He was pushing himself out of the chair with slow, graceful motions. But his knees gave in and he had to sit back down. Hah. Oh, he was light headed. No more drinking for Mssr. LeBeau. Even if he wanted another glass. If he couldn't stand, it was time to say that enough was enough. At least he was still in a semi-state of clarity, and was able to speak (mostly) intelligently.

"You ac'in' like you ma' at me. Wha' I do now?" She was, surprisingly, acting like his wife. She'd been very hot and cold with him to, when they'd met. She was excited, then she hated him, then she thought she loved him, then he was a bastard, then she hoped he died, then he killed her brother, then she tried to kill him.. big mess. Like a normal marriage.

If anything, Jenny was not behaving like a wife. She was unhappy with how she had put aside her usual feelings and become attracted to someone with a fucking dick. It wasn't like her even if Tim had been the love of her life and no relationship with a woman had ended happily since she'd decided to give up men. Remy? Well he was disappointing. And if he was going to suddenly figure out how she was feeling after ignoring everything else, he was going to get less satisfaction than he bargained for.

"Cold? No," she said with another smile and another fork of melon into her mouth. "I'm content to sit here on my own. I did ask you to leave me alone but you didn't. And that's fine. But I have to ask. Did you expect me to fawn over you or something? I'm sorry. I don't usually fawn. Melon?" she asked with a grin and held up a fork with melon attached toward his mouth.

All the while she talked with him her face held a very pleasant, smiling expression. That he'd bothered her was not apparent at all in her eyes. It wasn't like she'd asked to be there with him last night. He'd asked her and she'd shown up. Only to be left by herself to awaken alone. What was she supposed to feel? He'd never made any claims to wanting more than a warm body beside him she had no right to act like he had so the fact that he'd hurt her feelings was never going to be plain on her face. She would hold that card close to her vest and take it to the grave with her.

"You angry at me. Why? I ain' done not'in' to you." Yet. "C'mon.. Jus' tell me why, leas'?" And he very nearly went over to get that piece of melon, but his unsteady legs and the worry that she might actually plunge the fork into his mouth and them up into his brain.. sort of.. you know.. worried him. So he shook his head some at the offering.

He'd pass, thanks.

"'Dis 'cause yes'er'ay mornin'? 'De nigh' 'fore? Wha' I do? I say somet'in'? Do somet'in'? C'mon, can' jus' 'ten' like you ain' ma'. Know y' are." He tilted his head some, letting it roll a little to the side on his hands as he watched her closely. For some reason, he felt a little guilty, but wasn't sure why. He had nothing to feel guilty for, after all. It wasn't like he'd had sex with her then got up and left when he was done (and he'd definitely done that before). So why was she so angry at him? Angry to the point of being nice. That was the worst kind.

Whatever happened it was her fault. Not his. Which was another reason why she wanted him to leave her alone. She hadn't been able to make up her mind what she wanted and now that L was busy with Laura again it felt as though she'd been just dropped into the middle of nothing again. All by herself once more. Even if she wasn't willing to admit it to herself, she'd wanted someone to care and give a shit about her. Someone she could call her own. Wasn't that what she always wanted?

But truth was she couldn't pin Remy down any more than she actually wanted to do that anyway. He was a free spirit. Something she wished she was and there was no way in hell she was going to try to make him feel bad for what he was. That was why she was being nice. That and to protect herself from him knowing just how ridiculous she really was. If he could forgive her for being the Insider and still want her around, she wouldn't show him any more of her completely messed up personality.

"You didn't say anything, Remy. You didn't do anything. I'm not mad," she said and smiled, eating the melon she'd held out to him with a shrug of her shoulders. "Did you read my file?" she asked, coyly, canting her head and fluttering her eyelashes playfully at him. All deflection, all smiles.

Fina had woke up especially late this morning, she had taken the clothing she'd been taken with and folded them easily in a place and hide them away for now. Finding something at the Thrift Store in a equally feminine dress with a sweater over it, the colours were not matching to her personality, nor face. The dark greens and blues didn't fit her at all.

When she arrived on the scene, her eyes perked briefly and she slipped into the Theater, smelling food near her. Fina's stomach growled, the beautiful Silvite went to the table with the food and picked up some soup and cold ice water.

The blonde looked around at the to others and kept a friendly, but shy smile to those around. For now, she was more interested in eating.

Choosing to ignore the scary-ass Cajun, Lexie sort of sidled up to the blonde who was chowing down. Lexie wanted to be hungry in the worst way. She wanted to want food just like everyone else here was. Instead, her stomach was in knots in a combination of worry and mild upset. She was annoyed because she hadn't heard from Dean, though he said she would. Didn't he know she was a worrier? On top of that, she hadn't heard from Andy or Elliot. What was up with that? Where were her friends? What about Sam? Now, you could see why the crinkle of skin between her brows was deepening by the moment. The mild rolling of her stomach came at the thought of all the chocolate she'd eaten the day prior. Ooomph.

With a smallish smile, Lexie extended her hand to the girl. "Hi, are you new?" She asked, trying to appear as nonthreatening as possible. "I'm Lexie."

He wished he could say otherwise, but really, it was the draw of coffee that brought him to the theater. He had left a note for Jack and the others at the museum and headed over to the theater. Once there, he paused with his reddened nose in the air and peeled off the blanket he had been using as a makeshift coat to set it aside.

"Oooh, that.. that smells heavenly." At the table, Ianto ignored the banner and reached for a cup to fill to the brim with hot coffee. He'll eat too, most definitely, but for the moment, his attention was riveted with the scent of coffee tickling his nose. When he sipped, his eyes closed and Ianto sighed. "Oh, I've needed that for a week."

When the other two showed up, Gambit breathed in through his nose and pointed a bare finger at Jenny, lifting his eyebrows as he did so. "We gon' talk la'er, chere." But he really didn't have a lot of interest talking so publicly with her, not with three other people all standing around them. Ianto, he knew. Lexie, he knew. And the blonde.. he did not. But he could already tell Jenny was angry, and if it was because he'd been so flippant about flirting with.. well.. anything that walked (how would she *know* that, anyway? Was she spying on him? That was sort of attractive.. in a stalker way). Then he didn't want to make things worse.

"'Don' you Bri'ish boys go f' 'de tea?" Questioned with a slow grin to the Welshman.

"Generally, but some of us move with the times." Amazing what a cup of coffee did for Ianto's demeanor. "I should ignore it. I'll only want more tomorrow. But I couldn't. This is so bloody good." As he sipped and spoke, Ianto filled a plate. Normally, he went the vegetarian route (personal reasons, none of them moral, really so he was reaching for the soup and greens and veggies, mainly. Spaghetti and sushi, too. It was an odd meal, but one that'd be filling and he hoped one that'd taste so damned good.

"I'm going to make a pig of myself, I'm afraid," he said as he refilled his coffee cup.

Journal slipped into the pocket of his greatcoat and hurried from the museum to the theatre. Honestly, the promise of coffee was enough to drag him out, even if he commented that he had standards where coffee was concerned. Granted Jack would have taken coffee flavoured water at this point, only if it had a tiny amount of caffeine would he be happy.

Which found Jack walking into the room, seeing Gambit wearing his Coat and forced himself not to start something. Coffee first, finding out the full message and then deciding what to do about Gambit and getting the Coat back to Ianto. Even though Gambit had the duplicate, Jack didn't remove his own -- call him paranoid.

"Ah, coffee," Jack said, plucking the cup from Ianto's hand unceremoniously and taking a long sip. Now that? Was coffee. Hell, it was better than he thought it would be. Not what he was used to but better than instant. Jack took another sip from the stolen cup, making no move to give it back. "And now, the message?"

It was eleven o'clock by now, the party was half over and the Cajun was actually feeling nice and warm inside, thanks to the few beers he'd had. And though he'd had some trouble standing a few moments ago, he was pushing up to his feet now and taking a moment to steady himself, before flashing a grin at Jack and Ianto, then gracefully sliding his way past his row of chairs that had acted as a very nice couch for some time. Gloved hands pressed into the pockets of his own greatcoat and he was slowly, carefully making his way to the door. The chill outside would certainly help to sober him up a little and lessen the heat in his cheeks.

"Enjoy 'de par'y." He waved a hand idly but wasn't bothering to glance back, only sent a side-ways look to Jenny, offering her a brilliant smile before he disappeared out the door of the theater. It was warmer to him, now, but that'd wear off soon enough. He sort of wanted to find The Doctor, so he'd start the slow trek towards the carnival and poke around there for a bit.. just in case.

Aaah, the message. Ianto calmly fixed himself another cup of coffee, since his was perloined, and held out a plate towards Jack, all the while smiling. He nodded a bit as Gambit headed off, wearing that lovely warm coat. But since Ianto had coffee, nothing could bother him at the moment.

He leaned in and whispered very softly into Jack's ear. "You're an idiot, but I love you."

Yes, the message. Jack took the offered plate, balancing it over his cup of coffee. He watched as Gambit wandered of, wearing the coat that should be around Ianto's shoulders. Later, yes, later he'd work on getting the coat back.

Jack smiled, slipping an arm around Ianto's waist and kissed the corner of his mouth. "That wasn't all of it. There were things about the Doctor in there too."

"Oh, worked that out, did you?" Ianto nibbled from the things on his plate, pausing now and again to sip at the oh so wonderful coffee. A full belly went a long way towards making people feel better, and he glanced around at the others in the room, nodding to Jenny and the girl he hadn't met yet politely. "It said," he whispered quietly, so that it wouldn't carry past them, "I know you love the Doctor, but I know you love me, too."

After that, he pulled back, just a little, eyebrows up and a smirk on his face and popped a piece of fruit into his mouth.

"Yes, I worked that bit out," Jack replied with a roll of his eyes. "Given that the word 'doctor' was untranslated? I figured he had something to do with it." Even though he had his own plate, it was more fun to steal things from Ianto's plate. Which was why he nicked a strawberry and popped it into his mouth.

"The next bit," Jack said, keeping his voice as low as Ianto's, "was that you can't imagine life without me. Correct?" Jack ate a grape this time, pulling the skin off with his teeth then swallowed it. "What was the last bit?"

Ianto rolled his eyes when things were stolen off his plate, but he didn't comment any other way. Besides, he thought it was sort of funny (at the moment) that Jack was doing that. I still say a code would have given me at least a chance to figure it out." And when Ianto didn't dissuade Jack from stealing things, he continued to do so even as he filled his own plate.

"Neither have you for that matter," Jack replied. He nudged Ianto with his hip. "And again, what was that last bit?" He asked Ianto. "You're avoiding now. You've already told me the rest of the message. So what's the last bit?"

Ianto eyed the burgers again, trying to weigh caloric intake against old trauma. The trauma won out and he ended up slurping up spaghetti instead. Carbs would just have to do. Still, he wouldn't bring up his problems if Jack wanted a burger or even steak. Ianto looked over Jack's plate to see if he could steal anything in return. Just because fair's fair.

"The last bit's the easiest. I love you." God. His ears went very red at that admission and instead of looking at Jack, he bustled about the table, munching on whatever he found tasty.

Ianto may have been avoiding the burgers but Jack sure as hell wasn't. He grabbed one for his plate, moving to grab a handfull of chips next. He popped one into his mouth, attempting to sheild the plate so Ianto couldn't steal one.

"You know, you're cute when you blush," Jack said, chuckling. He moved down the line with Ianto, hand brushing his hip in that coupley way he tried to avoid, but was finding easier to be here. In such a different place, they needed to indulge themselves a bit more. Which was why he said the next part. "Good thing, you know. Because I do love you too," he whispered in Ianto's ear. There may or may not have been some stuttering and pausing to get through the last part though.

How fair was that? Jack shielded his plate from Ianto but also stole from Ianto? He still did his best to look over Jack's plate curiously. Even if he was blushing quite a bit.

"Oh. ..well. Good. Good." He also had no idea what to say to something like that. Briefly, he tipped his head against Jack's. Yes, it was dangerously couply, but things like that helped pull them through to another day. How many others had found solace in one another, after all?

After a moment, he pulled away and picked up his cup. "Come on, let's find a place to sit. Jenny's over there. I don't know the others."

It was incredibly fair if you asked the Captain but then again, he was the one making out like a bandit right now. Fine, he'd be nice. He uncovered the plate enough for Ianto to be able to steal a chip or three. And that blush. God that blush.

They'd eat their fill and Jack would be dragging Ianto off to a place to be named later.

"The main reason I don't way it that often. I like rendering you speechless." Jack closed his eyes for that moment Ianto leaned in, taking the opportunity to rub his nose against Ianto's temple. Yes, a coupley moment, but after everything, Jack thought they deserved it.

"Fantastic." Jack eyed Ianto's plate. "I hope you got enough for both of us..." He gave a small wave in Jenny's direction.

"Who's the stuff on your plate for, then, if I have to get enough for the both of us?" he asked, leading them towards chairs and offering Jenny a smile. She didn't look like she much wanted company, but Ianto was still open to joining her, if she changed her mind.

For now, he satisfied himself with stealing crisps from Jack and trying to ignore the fact that his ears were burning red and that inside he was jumping around and yelling like, well, a drunken Welshman.

"The stuff on my plate is for the fantastic looking bloke I met on the way over here," Jack teased. "Have to make sure there's enough left for him." Only Jack would possess the uncanny ability to say 'I love you' and to talk about the latest piece of ass... even if he was talking out of his arse right now.

Jack smiled as Ianto stole food from him, sliding a foot beneath the table and rubbed affectionately against his calf. "So this stopwatch you got..." Jack's voice trailed off, smirking.

Free food and Ammy were never good things. Well. Let's put it this way She'd eat a person out of house and home. That's not to say that the goddess would actually do it (even if the home's residents thought she would), nor that she absolutely needed sustance. She could go days, months, even centuries without a bite, but when it was offered... She couldn't say no.

Amaterasu had indeed made it to the theatre in one piece, despite running herself ragged yesterday, which she didn't mind very much in all honesty. Despite what that thing had said, Amaterasu was not a wolf, which had left her feeling slightly agitated at best. But, if everyone else was fixed, then she would not complain; they were possibly safe, and whole (or close enough to count).

She stalked over to the fruits and vegetables, taking only a few of what was relatively untouched until she could gauge how much would be left over. She would eat only then. When the Sun Goddess was certain that the foods she took was not going to run out any time soon, she bit in to a bananna, then apple. They tasted delicious, but she restrained from eating them like some pig (no matter how satisfying that would have been).

She'd been dismissed. All but interrupted in mid-sentence with a finger held up and a side-long remark about talking later as other people found their way in. It felt like a punch to the gut and Jenny wasn't sticking around to stand in the wings and be ignored. She'd wanted to be ignored before but at this point, after having begun the conversation, being ignored felt insulting.

Slowly she stood and smoothed the edge of the new sundress she wore against her thighs. She was done with her fruit and she put the paper plate into the plastic garbage pail provided at one of the edges of the party area. With one glance over her shoulder at Remy, she walked away. If he wanted to discuss anything later he'd have to find her this time.

Edward was new to the festivities. He moved more slowly than other people did, due to the weight of the shears hanging off both of his arms, and his constricting leather suit didn't help at all with his mobility. However, he was happy to have finally arrived. There were so many colors, so many people! They all looked like they were having so much fun. Edward would have been content to simply hang back and watch, since it had been his experience that people occasionally got nervous or frightened when he just suddenly appeared.

Just then, he noticed a pretty, brunette girl who didn't look like she was having a good time, at all. She was throwing away her food, and she looked like she was getting ready to leave. If she was sad, maybe Edward could cheer her up... he toddled over to the girl, probably interrupting her attempts to leave the party completely.

"Hello... hello, my name is Edward! It's a nice party? Are you having fun?" he asked hopefully.

She was going to go back to her little room in the theater and do some writing. It was the only thing on her mind now that she was headed out of the area of the party. She was determined not to look back at Remy again but rather get herself away. So she didn't quite see Edward until he spoke to her.

"I - oh!" Jenny stopped in surprise, her eyes slightly wide. Her mouth made a small o for a brief moment before forming a broad smile. "Edward! We finally meet. I'm Jenny."

She had heard all about him in the journals so his appearances wasn't alarming. It was more the suddenness of him being right there, speaking to her. His voice sounded exactly as she had imagined it from reading his words in the journals. Sweet and gentle.

"It's a very nice party. But not for me. I was just leaving. You go ahead and enjoy yourself though, sweetie. There's a lot of food." She continued to smile at him and even though her words seemed dismissive, she hadn't walked away either.
