Experiment: Selene and The Ninth Doctor
Who: The Ninth Doctor and Selene
What: They're new and they're being experimented on. Think of it as a welcome to the wilderness moment
Where: Undisclosed location
When: 8:00AM
Rating: PG-13

Good morning, new arrivals!

The Ninth Doctor and Selene will awaken in an extraordinarily well lit room. However, your character and their fellow subject will not be able to see as they have been stricken blind. After 10 minutes a slow sing-song voice starts very quietly repeating "See no evil." "You can't see me." "Can you feel me?" The Doctor and Selene will immediately start feeling gentle brushes of wind around their face and any exposed skin. They will not be able to catch the responsible party.

Additional information about this experiment to be provided as play progresses.

"Come on, Selene. Come towards me." It was another order to her, as he kept his hand out, moving slowly but steadily closer, to try and locate her in the darkness around them. "Being scared and lashing out isn't going to do any help. We're going to get out of here and we're going to find out what's going on. And neither one of us are going to get hurt in the process. Now come to my voice." All sense of play had now been drawn straight out of his tone. The Doctor wasn't amused anymore, this woman was clearly beginning to become upset (and really, she had every right). She sounded angry, but anger was often a good disguise for fear. And fear made logical men into mad men. That wasn't what he wanted.

"We're going to be alright." He assured her again, the smile having returned for just that brief moment. Confident Doctor.. he was bordering on arrogance, but few people had ever pointed that out to him. Few people had ever wanted to. His arrogance always pulled him (and thus, whoever he was with) through hard times. He was clever and he knew it. No, better than clever. He was fantastic. And he was doing his best to ignore the tugging on his clothes. It wouldn't do to be worried, or scared. It took a lot to scare The Doctor. This was more like a game.

For now.

She could hear its steps and tried to settle herself, tried to call on her tracking instincts. Her eyes were wide open but she forced herself to close them and keep them that way; if she was blind it would do nothing to keep her eyes open other than to dry them out, and possibly allow for injury. That, and if her vision were to come back suddenly it would be far more of a shock to her system if her eyes were already open and adjusted to not seeing. It was easy to tell herself these things, harder to follow when her first instinct was to strike out.

The man's words sounded almost chiding to her in light of her own anger at being toyed with. But he did have a point. If they were near she could at least rule out what noises he was causing and what were from whatever was with them. And, should he at some point become a threat, it would be all the easier to take care of him if she knew precisely where he was. The vampire didn't say anything, she just listened to his steps and where his voice was coming from. Turning, she walked carefully a few steps, one hand out both to reach and prevent her from running into anything. Not that it entirely kept her from being startled when her fingers brushed his, and it took nearly everything in her not to fall into defensive instincts.

"There we go. See? I'm not that scary, except maybe my face. Lucky it's dark enough in here that you can't see that." His tone was light enough once again and he curled his fingers around hers and stepped in closer, near enough he could bring his leg in against hers and keep the contact with their legs and hips, releasing her hand in the process. He wanted his hands free, but he also wanted to know where she was at all times, both to keep her safe, and to keep himself safe.

"Who's that? Trying to make contact in the dark? Not really the best way to make friends." He had the distinct feeling that someone was listening, but certainly wasn't trying to make contact, nor to communicate with them. This was something completely different. This seemed like a trap. Or a test. Or something as equally planned out. This hadn't been just something that the both of them had fallen into.. they'd been brought here, he was sure of it. What he wanted to know, was how they'd plucked him so easily out of his TARDIS, and where Rose was. Rose had to be around here somewhere.. even if he'd been taken, he knew she wouldn't just leave it like that. She'd come after him. He knew she would. And that meant she was here.

It took restraint not to pull her hand back and she wasn't surprised to see he seemed to have a similar thought about staying close. "I don't think the problem is the dark." she remarked dryly, turning her head away from where she now knew he was to try and pick up on whoever was in there with them. The vampire listened to him talk to whatever was there watching them, glad someone else was there to do it since she wasn't really into taunts and goading. Action was her method. Shoot, stab or hit first, ask questions before they died. Of course, she wasn't about to let some mortal order her around either. "Back to back would be wise, leaves us less vulnerable." She spoke as she moved, not standing right against his back but close enough their bodies brushed, close enough they were still aware of the other. "And I don't think they want to make friends."
