Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!complete, day 14, location: in town, remy lebeau, shannon rutherford, the doctor (ten)

Who: The Doctor and Remy and Shannon
What: Experiencing the effects of the additives and answering journals.
Where: The Post Office/Clock Tower
When: 0957 / Day 14
Rating: PGish
Status:  Complete
Reminder: The Post Office and Clock Tower are the sites where the additives all mix.

It hadn't been long before they'd gotten far enough away from the Carnival, and the Museum, that the laughing and er.. other side effects had sort of become less noticeable.  But the pair had slowly made their way towards the side of the town, to the Post Office and the Clock Tower not far from it. That was when they had finally slowed down enough to sink onto a bench not far from the Clock Tower, so that they could see the Post Office across the way. And while Gambit had leaned back bonelessly into the green bench for a little relaxation, he noticed that the Doctor had begun prattling on in his journal. The Cajun had watched for a few moments, before finally sitting forward and flipping open his own journal to follow the progression of the discussion.

And there, on that bench, the two men in matching coats (Remy just loved your coat, Doctor, thanks) sat and stared into the books in their laps, with Gambit laughing every once in a while (he couldn't help it), or looking around curiously for food, or even swatting at a pegasus that was flying around his head. But strangely enough, he really wasn't that chatty.. yet. That would take longer to seep in, and it first came in the form of writing, where he began jotting down notes in his book, too-- his smile becoming wider as time went on. Then he was laughing. But it wasn't the gas.

Sorry, Doctor.

A rational man would wonder why he'd spent so much time since landing in this place thinking of Rose. The obvious answer would be that this place, with all of it's terrible features had one very important component: it brought people in from other universes. If they could manage to bring people here from places that the TARDIS could not go; perhaps they might reach her? Perhaps he might be able to tell her once and for all? Perhaps... The Time Lord swept the thoughts away with a brush of his hand back through his hair and a hard blink. For now, seeing Rose dancing happily around the TARDIS was enough for him. To see her popping in and out trying to lure him inside with her was a fine enough memory to revel in. There were far worse things that could be pulled form his mind and he was thankful that at least this experience was a positive one.

"I remember," he said quietly. Part of the phrase sent to Rose, part of it in response to Shannon

As the human cat rolled off the bench the Doctor found himself nonplussed. There really wasn't anything he could think to say in response to graceful falling or heap landing. Though, the laughter that rose up from the Cajun the Doctor knew he was alright. He wondered why this place saw fit to give him and everyone else such happy memories. It almost made him worry.

Shannon couldn't hold back a huff in place of laughter as Gambit rolled right off the bench entirely. When he started to laugh, though, she sat back again and laughed until she could barely breathe. "Oh, my God, you just fell right off!" she pointed out unnecessarily.

Looking back at the Doctor, she raised her eyebrows. "Are you okay?" she asked thoughtfully, tipping her head just slightly to the side as she ran an absent hand through Remy's hair. The look on the Doctor's face was inscrutable. Though, a new smile crept over her lips as she felt tiny-Boone using a chunk of her hair like a rope to climb up toward the top of her head.

"Seriously, I'm starving," she announced loudly as her giggles began to die down. "I want some potato chips. I haven't eaten potato chips in, like, six years or something."

When Shannon started laughing at him, he pressed a hand to his face and laughed harder, but it drifted off as she began to pet her fingers through his hair. Oh, Shannon, be very careful about that. Red eyes were falling half-lidded and a slow sigh found its way out of the Cajun's lips. That was nice. Still, she was mentioning wanting something to eat, and Remy shifted some onto his side, but remained there on the ground so Shannon could keep her fingers in his hair.

"I t'ink 'de man in 'de bunny sui' made outta chocola'e. An' I'm pretty sure 'de sui' made outta marshm'llows." Sure enough, as he was saying the words, the man under the mask was slowly pulling it off, and revealing his very chocolate head, like something out of that chocolate-man Axe commercial. The red-head made a noise deep in his throat as he watched. He wasn't sure he could eat anymore sweets.. but still, the idea of a giant chocolate man in a marshmallow bunny suit?

Priceless.

"Wha' 'de hell's goin' on, Docteur?" By now, thankfully, the pumps had shut off, but the gas was still lingering inside the glass box, and would, for another few hours.
