Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!complete, day 14, location: in town, remy lebeau, shannon rutherford, the doctor (ten)

Who: The Doctor and Remy and Shannon
What: Experiencing the effects of the additives and answering journals.
Where: The Post Office/Clock Tower
When: 0957 / Day 14
Rating: PGish
Status:  Complete
Reminder: The Post Office and Clock Tower are the sites where the additives all mix.

It hadn't been long before they'd gotten far enough away from the Carnival, and the Museum, that the laughing and er.. other side effects had sort of become less noticeable.  But the pair had slowly made their way towards the side of the town, to the Post Office and the Clock Tower not far from it. That was when they had finally slowed down enough to sink onto a bench not far from the Clock Tower, so that they could see the Post Office across the way. And while Gambit had leaned back bonelessly into the green bench for a little relaxation, he noticed that the Doctor had begun prattling on in his journal. The Cajun had watched for a few moments, before finally sitting forward and flipping open his own journal to follow the progression of the discussion.

And there, on that bench, the two men in matching coats (Remy just loved your coat, Doctor, thanks) sat and stared into the books in their laps, with Gambit laughing every once in a while (he couldn't help it), or looking around curiously for food, or even swatting at a pegasus that was flying around his head. But strangely enough, he really wasn't that chatty.. yet. That would take longer to seep in, and it first came in the form of writing, where he began jotting down notes in his book, too-- his smile becoming wider as time went on. Then he was laughing. But it wasn't the gas.

Sorry, Doctor.

Shannon had appeared from right behind the TARDIS. Rose was making all kinds of faces at her as it appeared she thought that the other blonde was getting in the way of her happy moment. Perhaps Rose was right. Entirely out of character for Shannon she came right up and started hugging. Really hugging. It was the gas, making people act strangely, and in Shannon's case making her hug. Not that hugging was bad; it was just different.

"Did you hear me?" He asked Gambit, nudging the other's head with his elbow. "No more trying to get Jack's coat." It was like he was lecturing a ten year old.

The Doctor slouched, putting his hands behind his head as he looked up at the sky. His brain was telling it was orange and red like that of Gallifrey. He could see the second sun and he wondered if he walked to the glass dome if he'd see the western mountains or the field of Plenitude. Even if it were fake, it'd be so nice just to think he could see it. It always sort of scared him that he might forget what they looked like.

Eyebrows arched slightly, Shannon watched as a tiny ten-year-old Boone appeared, sitting on the Doctor's left shoulder. He smirked and raised a finger to his lips, as if to tell her not to tell the Doctor that he was there. Shannon grinned back and nodded. The Doctor didn't seem to notice as he chastised Remy and that was when Shannon laid back on the road.

Boone moved, too, sitting on her chest and looking back at her making funny faces. "That's fine, I'll go get something later," she said, distracted as she crossed her eyes and stuck out her tongue to match the silly expression on the mini, young-Boone's face.

"Hey, Doctor, do you remember when we first met? I thought you were an Other and you were going to kill me. Isn't that ridiculous?" she asked, giggling. The giggling ceased, but only for a half second, as she finally processed the position in which Remy was laying. "You look really comfy..." she said with a smirk, wagging one finger at the mini Boone on her chest in a the-Tony-living-in-Danny's-mouth-saying-Redrum sort of fashion.

When the Doctor pestered him about Jack's jacket again the Cajun waved a hand as if swatting away a fly. "Oui, le père, je comprends." Yes, daddy, he understood what you were saying. And he didn't need you to remind him. Besides, he had a duplicate of your coat now, he didn't need Jack's. He liked brown better any day.. he'd just sort of wished it was leather. No matter.

"Very comfy, chere. 'De Doct'r got nice legs." Not really. They were too thin, and kinda bony to rest your head on. Not comfortable at all. But really, anything was comfortable right now, compared to the bench he'd just been using. But he was quiet for a few moments before finally speaking up.

"Anyone else hallucina'in'?" He had to ask, and was lifting a hand to point at the large man in the bunny suit standing behind Shannon. "Or is 'dere uh homme in uh bunny sui', stan'in' 'dere?" Don't be alarmed, Shannon, your hallucination would protect you from Remy's.. much stranger hallucination.

The Doctor smirked as Gambit said he understood what the Doctor was telling him. This was important, even if the mutant didn't know why. If Remy let up on chasing Jack's coat then maybe Jack would feel just a little bit less threatened by him. That was the Doctor's hope, anyway.

They were all kind of babbling, weren't they? Caught up in happy sort of daydreams. Well, except for Gambit; but, the Doctor chose to ignore that for the moment. There was Rose, in that pink dress of hers. She was all ready to go for a ride on the moped with him. She was trying desperately to figure out how to put on that helmet without mussing up her hair. "Lots of hairspray!" The Doctor called at her as she ducked back into the TARDIS door. Sure, he knew he was talking to air, but so were they, and that was OK.

"I lost my.. friend.. Rose, to a parallel universe and right now she's standing right over there..."

As Remy answered her question, Shannon found herself arching her eyebrows as her eyes slid up the Doctor's legs to meet Remy's. "Duly noted," she said more to herself than to him.

Following his finger, Shannon looked behind her and saw no man in a bunny suit. The Doctor's voice pulled her focus and she looked in the same direction he was; again, there was nothing. Lastly, the sound of someone blowing a raspberry at her made her look back at her ten-year-old teeny, tiny brother bouncing up and down on her too-empty stomach. "My dead brother is using my belly as a trampoline. Except, he's tiny and twelve years younger than I last saw him a couple weeks ago..." she replied dreamily.

Shannon looked away from Boone, although she patted his head gently with one fingertip, and back at the Doctor. "Remember that time when you talked about Rose with me in the museum after the smoke monster came? OH! And remember when you drew her in the journals? She's so pretty," she said absently as her stomach growled.

Her eyes moved back to Remy and a mischievous smile crept over her lips. "Remember that time when you told me I was better...?" she asked, ignoring the tiny Boone's angry protests when she sat up and sent him tumbling to the dirt road. Leaning closer, she batted her eyelashes at him.

"Yeah, I 'member." He admitted, though his eyes were fixed on the large man in the bunny suit behind Shannon. Oh, he was coming closer. Remy rolled some, but it was too much, and he rolled straight off the bench, off of the Doctor's knee, and landed in a boneless heap (how was it that he could even manage to fall with grace? it was just sick) there on the dusty ground at the Doctor's feet. He let out a slow groan, and rolled over onto his back before opening his eyes again to stare up at the bunny man, who was leaning over him.

And the Cajun burst into laughter. Well, at least the two strongest additives in his system now were completely harmless. He wasn't humping the Doctor's leg, or Shannon's, er.. or Shannon. And he was no longer chatting away aimlessly at nothing, or craving strange and exotic foods. No. He was laughing like a school boy about a man in a bunny costume. That was slightly disturbing, really. Everyone else was having such fond, happy memories.

And Gambit was dreaming up a man in a bunny suit. Maybe he'd hallucinated up some crack and had been snorting it, and wasn't sharing with the Doctor.
