WHO: Remy & Jenny
WHAT: Remy offered Jenny a piece of his couch.
WHEN: Day 13; 2208.
WHERE: The barn
RATING: PG-13, perhaps?
STATUS: Complete

Gambit certainly hadn't been lying about having a comfortable piece of furniture to stretch out on. With other places now to sleep, the red-head had been more-or-less left alone in the barn, and he'd kicked out the arms on two of those couches, pushed two of them front-to-front (the ones without arms), then had pushed a third one to the head of those two butted-up couches, to make a strange rectangle of sorts, which had three sides, and one place to crawl into the middle. He'd put the third couch there, of course, so his feet wouldn't hang off the end. That just wouldn't do at all. He'd braced two of the three couches against the walls of the barn (he'd pushed it into a corner, of course), and the third couch had another couch (the last one) pushed up against the back of it, so it wouldn't slide out and leave him on the floor in the middle of the night.

So it was no wonder that the Cajun had refused to leave his little sanctuary for the day. He'd just been happily lazing around on the couch, wishing for something other than sugar to eat. He'd talked to Dean just moments earlier, and was quite content knowing that he'd be eating real food sometime tomorrow. This morning, at least, the young man had gone further into town and had snatched himself a shower. Cold though it was-- he'd washed his jeans and socks while he was in the shower, but his trench coat had been ruined, along with his tank-top, so on the way back to the barn he'd made a quick detour into the Thrift store and had grabbed a few things. Like the button-up blue shirt he was wearing at present. There was a white undershirt beneath it, and he had it unbuttoned half way, with the sleeves rolled up to just over his elbows, exposing the gloves he wore religiously. They weren't long, stopping just before his wrist bone, at the end of his palm.

He was shoeless, but fresh socks (also from the thrift store) were happily on his feet. Having a shower and fresh clothes had done wonders for the Cajun. The replica Doctors Coat was hanging over the arm of the head couch, for his later use. Because yeah, it was his now. His. Back off, Doctor.

In fact, he'd been laying on his back there, a pillow tucked under his head (also thanks to the thrift store.. he'd found a pillow case, but no pillows.. so he'd torn open some stuffed animals and stuffed the case full, then tied it off - he hadn't made two, unfortunately.), but when he heard footsteps, he was sitting up and turning his eyes towards the entrance of the dimly lit barn. All he had for light was the moonlight coming in through the windows. It was enough for him, really.. he had pretty good eyes, in the dark.

"'Dat you, Chere?" Prompted into the darkness around him.

In the moonlight, Jenny could just make out his form again as he went to rest on the couch once more. She was struck by how at home he was in this horrible place. She'd never get used to it here in the glass bubble. Though she would never give up what she'd learned here, she wasn't going to make herself comfortable and hope to stay anymore. It didn't matter that there was no one on the outside wishing she was coming back. There was something else to live for now.

Just the two of them. That was good to know. Jenny relaxed some and smiled a bit more widely even if he couldn't see it well. "That's good. I've done the whole group-sleep thing and it was more elbows in the face than I'm interested in."

Jenny wrinkled her nose when he patted the cushions and sent up a waft to her of the mildew that hadn't been quite so pungent before now. She moved slowly to sit beside him, not appearing too eager because she both wasn't, due to the smell, and wasn't going to give him a reason to think she just couldn't wait to be near him. Part of her felt that way, sure. Another part of her was so unsure if she was doing the right thing by anyone these days that she was going to make herself neurotic if she kept thinking about it. So she wouldn't.

Time to switch gears, Jennifer Schecter. She leaned back as he had done, but on one elbow, turned on her hip to face him. No, you kept your word and I'm grateful that you did. I'm not sure who the new person is. I don't have an inside track anymore. Not that I want to really. I'm through with sneaking around," she said and smiled sweetly at him. "But is that why you invited me over? To ask me about the new jackass in the journals?"

"Oui. An' t'ask why you done wha' you done, an' t'offer you a twinkie." He shifted on his elbows and wiggled his eyebrows some. How he could be so playful in this horrible place.. well. How he could be so comfortable here, as well. He was like some freak of nature. But really, it was better than being depressed and emo about it, right? Why bother? It only made things worse, not only on yourself but also on everyone around you. It brought down morale. That wasn't what they needed right now.

Not that Remy cared about anyone in this place.

"An' I kin'a miss a nice warm body sleepin' nex' t'mine." That last part was said with a wider smile that could have indicated that he was joking, or that he just found it amusing. Really, he rarely had a warm body sleeping next to him. Most often, it was sex-and-go, whether on his part or on theirs. It never mattered, though. He usually didn't want to see the person come morning, anyway. Definitely not if he'd just stolen everything from their wallet. Then he hoped he never saw the woman again. Woman, because it was very rare that he found himself in that sort of position with a man. Not for a few years, at least. Not since he was a teenager.

Well, and that once with Jack. But they hadn't been in a bed, and there certainly hadn't been sleeping involved, or sex, for that matter.

He made a vague gesture behind him, to the make-shift pillow he'd fashioned. "I even le' you use it, you stay, Chere." Offered with another lift of his eyebrows. Tempting man.
