It would be, he mused, if he had some company. And not just any company either, but good company. Good, fun, hot company. Because then he'd have an excuse to actually be out here in the middle of effin' nowhere and he'd have a reason to be investigating. Instead, he was roaming around without a single clue as to what he was even doing here, much less how he got here in the first place. But so far, the only other people he had seen were the two he had woken up with. Ugh, even just thinking that made his skin crawl. Not to be misunderstood, the girl was hot. Extremely so.

Sexy and fit and built. And just plain sexy. But her male companion was a different story and he seemed to love making a general ass of himself. Jim shrugged it off and pushed them out of his thoughts. He had other things to worry about it then a disgruntled clown who had nothing better to do than try to assert his 'masculinity' by picking fights. Not thinking about this anymore, he reminded himself and looked around at his surroundings. Everything looked the damn same to him, it was trees around trees, around more trees. And to make matters worse, he couldn't see anything above them.. maybe if he climbed one he might be able to see a building..

Without a second thought (besides, I'd better not die), he picked a large tree and put his kit at the base of it. The trunk was thick and sturdy. He grabbed a branch as high as he could reach and began his climb up. Jim kept climbing quickly until several branches under his left foot snapped loudly and fell to the ground. He slowed his progress but managed to make it above most of the foliage and looked out, another branch snapping. He could see.. something that looked distinctly like a tower.. a clock tower? Kirk mused and looked closer around, noticing a small building that looked more like a shack than anything else near the path he had been walking on. He let out a frustrated sigh before he felt the branches below his feet trembling. "Oh shh--" his words got caught in his throat as both the branches snapped under his feet, and he fell, landing on a sturdier branch, right between his legs.

"OHH SHIT," he groaned, turning over and landing on the ground on his feet before toppling over. Owww, he cried mentally, cradling his jewels pathetically. Did he already mention he was not having a good time?

He could feel Little Kirk crying.

The two of them said that they worked for the same company - well, more accurately, Leonard said they worked for the same company and Jim just agreed - but Shannon wasn't entirely sure, based on the tone of the answers, whether they were telling the truth or lying through their teeth. It didn't really matter, she supposed. It wasn't like it was a big deal where they worked, anyway. She didn't care as much as she seemed to be simply by asking. So, she shrugged.

When they both seemed at least marginally interested in a tour, Shannon deflated slightly. She didn't actually want to be giving a tour of this horrible fucking place, but she supposed the least she could do was show them around enough so that they could survive. They'd need to know where the pharmacy and gas station were and she supposed probably also the gym - since the doctors seemed to have congregated to create a clinic there - and the thrift shop would probably be at least a little beneficial. They did, after all, look pretty ridiculous dressed alike as they were.

"Onward ho, then," she said, gesturing for them to follow as she headed back out and onto the dirt road. "As you can see, it looks like hell, mainly. There's only short supply of hot water, toilets if you know where to look, junk food rather than actual sustanence, and no creature comforts whatsoever," she explained as she led them up the road.
