Day 13: 11AM, Woods near the Gym
Who: Lexie Grey, Dean Winchester, OTA
When: Day 13, 8AM
Where: The Forest near the gym
Rating: TBD

Status: Complete

Rolling over on her cot Lexie reflexively tugged up the top of her blanket expecting to feel the breeze on her face at any moment courtesy of the fractured ceiling. She also expected the feeling of the sunshine beating on the backs of her eyelids or the feeling of dew on the exposed bit of canvas beneath her bare feet. Hell, she'd really been ready to feel the twinge in her shoulder as her body weight moved and manipulated the seperation between tendons and bones. No pain came. Lexie's eyes snapped open, half expecting to find herself locked up some place, or without an arm, or without any light at all. Instead, she was in the gym. A gym that was quiet and dark and whole The sun hadn't been up for long at all; and it looked like everyone else was still quite asleep. But, they were all there.

Lexie rolled her shoulder, playing with her range of motion. She could hardly keep quiet as she pulled off the sling and threw it on the floor. She wanted to burn the damned thing. She wanted to burn the whole damned place down! With bare feet she hurried between the rows of cots, down the hallway that was so very familiar and arrived at her room. Her un mistakable room. Dean's flowers were still sitting on the window sill, the cot with the extra padding of cushions was still quite right with the shelves as they should have been, too. Lexie actually gasped. It was all, alright. She knew she hadn't have dreamed all of that; but, yet it all seemed surreal with everything put back in it's place.

Running at full speed back to her cot she pulled on her sneakers. She wouldn't be spending one more minute in this gym. No, she had to get out and breathe. She had to see if everything had been restored. Everything.

Popping out the double doors she was greeted with righted trees and pristine pavement. With facades she knew so well and a serenity that only accompanied early morning. Sure, the sky was dark; but, what did it matter? Everything had been fixed. Everything was OK. She was OK. She didn't know how, but she was!

Lexie started to run, the blood on her scrubs non-existant, it being the only trace that she'd ever been injured at all. There was the pharmacy and the thrift shop. The Theater and the clock tower. Everything seemed to be back. Less than a run now, Lexie was dancing. She veered off, into the woods, coming around full circle with flushed cheeks. With a thunderclap the sky opened up and raindrops thick and heavy started to pelt her. Lexie stopped, looking up at the sky, laughing.

"Is that it?! A thunderstorm?" She taunted. There was laughter in her voice, genuine, real laughter.

There was some underlying sense to this that days had passed since he'd seen her. Either it truly had, therefore the amazingly miraculous recovery of everyone and the town, or seeing her so happy had become such a foreign thing that it just made it seem like a long time had passed.

If he thought about it, he hadn't ever actually seen her happy like this. The first time they'd met she had been distressed by the cold. Perhaps when she'd been pulling splinters from his hand but that had been such a short interlude that he hadn't seen much beyond Business Lexie. Then the earthquake and aftermath had completely strained her as far as he could tell. He'd been worried she might snap under the pressure which was why he'd forced himself to attempt the damned teeth writing. Well, that and he wanted to talk to her. He wouldn't deny it. Especially not in the sight of her like this. His appreciation of and attraction to her had increased significantly in a matter of moments.

Dean grinned up at her as she stood there with her arms folded across her chest, looking very cute and kissable. He laughed as he got to his feet. "You can't hurt me. Winchester stock is tough as nails. Besides, it would've been a good hurt, Snobo." He pried one of her hands away from her and kissed the back of it with an amusedly contrite expression. "Forgive me?"

They were getting soaked. Raindrops the size of quarters were pelting left and right with heavy clacks upon the now quite muddy ground. Someone, somewhere thought it was very funny to have both of them stuck out in the rain. So, they turned up that fawcet and cranked up the thunder. In this world of manufactured weather, it seemed like the man behind the curtain was seeing just how much water they could take.

Dean was grinning back up at her. She knew he really was Ok, it was hard to fake a grin like that and she'd seen him try. "Weeble wobble," she couldn't contain the quirk of her lips. He reached up and tugged at her hand and she let him, pursing her lips.

"Fiiiine," she teased, giving his hand a gentle squeeze and a tug. "You wouldn't happen to be waterproof, would you?" She was trying to tug him up out of the mud. "Because, if you are, I'd really like to know your secret," she shouted that last bit over a rumble of thunder.

Maybe she'd tugged a bit too hard there because her hand slipped out of his, sending her staggering backward a few steps. Rainslicked with mud creeping up her pant legs. As much as Lexie wanted to continue laughing at the rain the harsh reality of a chill was running through her.

She canted her head, "You coming?" She was already walking fairly slowly in the direction of the gym. No point in running, she was already quite soaked to the bone.
