Day 13: 11AM, Woods near the Gym
Who: Lexie Grey, Dean Winchester, OTA
When: Day 13, 8AM
Where: The Forest near the gym
Rating: TBD

Status: Complete

Rolling over on her cot Lexie reflexively tugged up the top of her blanket expecting to feel the breeze on her face at any moment courtesy of the fractured ceiling. She also expected the feeling of the sunshine beating on the backs of her eyelids or the feeling of dew on the exposed bit of canvas beneath her bare feet. Hell, she'd really been ready to feel the twinge in her shoulder as her body weight moved and manipulated the seperation between tendons and bones. No pain came. Lexie's eyes snapped open, half expecting to find herself locked up some place, or without an arm, or without any light at all. Instead, she was in the gym. A gym that was quiet and dark and whole The sun hadn't been up for long at all; and it looked like everyone else was still quite asleep. But, they were all there.

Lexie rolled her shoulder, playing with her range of motion. She could hardly keep quiet as she pulled off the sling and threw it on the floor. She wanted to burn the damned thing. She wanted to burn the whole damned place down! With bare feet she hurried between the rows of cots, down the hallway that was so very familiar and arrived at her room. Her un mistakable room. Dean's flowers were still sitting on the window sill, the cot with the extra padding of cushions was still quite right with the shelves as they should have been, too. Lexie actually gasped. It was all, alright. She knew she hadn't have dreamed all of that; but, yet it all seemed surreal with everything put back in it's place.

Running at full speed back to her cot she pulled on her sneakers. She wouldn't be spending one more minute in this gym. No, she had to get out and breathe. She had to see if everything had been restored. Everything.

Popping out the double doors she was greeted with righted trees and pristine pavement. With facades she knew so well and a serenity that only accompanied early morning. Sure, the sky was dark; but, what did it matter? Everything had been fixed. Everything was OK. She was OK. She didn't know how, but she was!

Lexie started to run, the blood on her scrubs non-existant, it being the only trace that she'd ever been injured at all. There was the pharmacy and the thrift shop. The Theater and the clock tower. Everything seemed to be back. Less than a run now, Lexie was dancing. She veered off, into the woods, coming around full circle with flushed cheeks. With a thunderclap the sky opened up and raindrops thick and heavy started to pelt her. Lexie stopped, looking up at the sky, laughing.

"Is that it?! A thunderstorm?" She taunted. There was laughter in her voice, genuine, real laughter.

Dean grinned, watching her as he came forward. With her face so alive and unguarded she was really quite stunning. He was a little disappointed that she stopped so immediately after hearing his voice. He'd been enjoying her happy rain dance.

The disappointment didn't last long as her smile widened and so did his as she caught sight of him. Then she propelled herself at him and was in his arms in a matter of seconds. That had to be the best response to seeing him he could have asked for. It solidified a couple things in his mind that had he'd been mulling over and wondering about. And it made him feel suddenly just about as carefree as she seemed to be.

He was about to lift her off her feet and give her a good spin in the rain when she jumped away. He couldn't resist. He fell to his knees, groaning. There was nothing wrong with him but he had to play it up. Tease her some.

Holding his arms to his chest and looked up at her pitifully. "Doc, I think you broke 'em worse. Now I'll never play the piano!" He worked hard to keep the smile out of his voice and off of his face but it was a struggle. "I can't believe you'd do such a horrible thing to me, Doc!" he added, looking down at the mud he was know knee-deep in and shaking his head sorrowfully as he rocked back and forth a bit, hugging himself.

Joy, utter joy. It seemed almost wrong to be happy in a place like this, yet there she was with flushed cheeks and a smile wider than the moon. Yet, there Dean was, grinning too. Maybe it wasn't so wrong to just be happy, just this once?

Even as she hopped back, heart in her throat it was hard to dim the unabashed level of glee. She was OK, and she thought that maybe Dean was OK to. Like a bad joke Dean doubled over and the gullible Lexie believed him.

"Oh no... I'm so sorry.., Oh..." She stepped back forward tenatively reaching out and then yanking back. Did she really? 'Now I'll never play piano!' he whelped. Wait, did he just say what she thought he said.

"You!" She bapped him in the shoulder. "I thought I hurt you!" Captain Obvious stating the obvious. She crossed her arms and did her very best to cover up her luaghter with a look of total incredulousness. "I patch you up and this is the thanks I get, I'm disappointed in you spaceheater." Huff, huff.
