Day 13: 11AM, Woods near the Gym
Who: Lexie Grey, Dean Winchester, OTA
When: Day 13, 8AM
Where: The Forest near the gym
Rating: TBD

Status: Complete

Rolling over on her cot Lexie reflexively tugged up the top of her blanket expecting to feel the breeze on her face at any moment courtesy of the fractured ceiling. She also expected the feeling of the sunshine beating on the backs of her eyelids or the feeling of dew on the exposed bit of canvas beneath her bare feet. Hell, she'd really been ready to feel the twinge in her shoulder as her body weight moved and manipulated the seperation between tendons and bones. No pain came. Lexie's eyes snapped open, half expecting to find herself locked up some place, or without an arm, or without any light at all. Instead, she was in the gym. A gym that was quiet and dark and whole The sun hadn't been up for long at all; and it looked like everyone else was still quite asleep. But, they were all there.

Lexie rolled her shoulder, playing with her range of motion. She could hardly keep quiet as she pulled off the sling and threw it on the floor. She wanted to burn the damned thing. She wanted to burn the whole damned place down! With bare feet she hurried between the rows of cots, down the hallway that was so very familiar and arrived at her room. Her un mistakable room. Dean's flowers were still sitting on the window sill, the cot with the extra padding of cushions was still quite right with the shelves as they should have been, too. Lexie actually gasped. It was all, alright. She knew she hadn't have dreamed all of that; but, yet it all seemed surreal with everything put back in it's place.

Running at full speed back to her cot she pulled on her sneakers. She wouldn't be spending one more minute in this gym. No, she had to get out and breathe. She had to see if everything had been restored. Everything.

Popping out the double doors she was greeted with righted trees and pristine pavement. With facades she knew so well and a serenity that only accompanied early morning. Sure, the sky was dark; but, what did it matter? Everything had been fixed. Everything was OK. She was OK. She didn't know how, but she was!

Lexie started to run, the blood on her scrubs non-existant, it being the only trace that she'd ever been injured at all. There was the pharmacy and the thrift shop. The Theater and the clock tower. Everything seemed to be back. Less than a run now, Lexie was dancing. She veered off, into the woods, coming around full circle with flushed cheeks. With a thunderclap the sky opened up and raindrops thick and heavy started to pelt her. Lexie stopped, looking up at the sky, laughing.

"Is that it?! A thunderstorm?" She taunted. There was laughter in her voice, genuine, real laughter.

Dean had been on his way back to the gym to see for himself if everyone else had been healed as magically as he seemed to have been. Waking up on the road had not been a fun experience. He'd been attempting to get somewhere after helping Shannon & Ianto with the search for the ten who'd gone missing yesterday. Next thing he knew he was face down on the dusty cement.

Instinctively he'd used his hands to push himself up but then it occurred to him that it should have hurt like a bitch. His hands were supposed to be broken. Unusable. His jaw sure as hell hurt from all of the writing he'd forced out of it with pen between teeth yesterday. But his hands were fine. In fact, everything was fine. He'd flipped open the journals and seen others talking about a reset or something. Game apparently had been reset. The buildings looked the same as they had the first day he'd arrived. He wanted to see if everyone had been so lucky. Especially Lexie.

He was still trying to get the dust out of his nose as he approached the gym in time to see Lexie come running out. She hadn't seen him and he was about to chase after her to be sure she was okay when he saw the smile on her face. No sling either. He stopped and watched her run instead, a smile of his own creeping across his face. He had never seen her so carefree.

Leaning against the building, he watched - was she dancing? - until she was out of sight, figuring she'd be back eventually. Sure enough, her path took her in an arc through the forest and he could hear her laughter. That laugh. He knew it so well now considering how often they'd laughed together.

Ignoring the thunder and the sudden shower, something he probably needed anyway after waking up on the dirty road, he made his way toward her laughter even as the sky darkened beneath angrily knitted clouds. "You'd think after all we've been through that's all you'd want!" he chided playfully. "Wet scrubs contest?" he asked as he came to a stop beside her.

Pink cheeked and vibrantly alive, Lexie was absolutely, positively dancing in the rain. Her arms swung about willy nilly as she jumped up and down to a song in her head. She wasn't in hell, not right now. No, she was in a place where everything was OK again. Where everything was whole and right and fine. Er, well, as fine as it could be inside a giant glass dome. Her arm worked; the buildings were safe, things were good.

Perhaps that was why it had been so easy for her to let go and just dance in the rain and challenge the clouds and almost invite the people controlling this place to throw something else at her. Lexie Grey felt like she might actually be able to take on the world. She could feel the excitement in her toes and she knew that maybe she could take the whole place on, wall and all. She could!

'You'd think after all we've been through that's all you'd want!' she heard, looking suddenly like a kid caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Bouncing stopped. Dancing desisted. Flailing, clearly, was not more. Instead she turned, spying Dean coming up from the gym with a look on his face that only made her smile widen. "Wet scrubs contest?" He'd asked and she didn't even have it in her to respond.

"We're OK!" She cheered, turning to face him. It wouldn't do just to have him standing there; this whole thing called for a celebration. A real celebration! A party! A something! Any gap that had been between them was closed nearly immediately by Lexie wrapping her arms around his middle in a giant hug.

Lexie froze. Wait, maybe he wasn't OK, too? Oh no! Jumping backward like she'd touched a hot stove she covered her mouth. Oh, no.. "Wait, Ishouldhaveasked," she blurted. "Ribs, arm, hands?" Pleasebeokay, pleasebeokay.
