Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!complete, allison "tex", day 13, leonard church, location: thrift store, open

Who:  Tex & Church (OTA, if someone wants?)
When:  0812, Day 13
Where:  The Thrift Store
What:  Tex and Church are.. er.. in their underwear. Need clothes.
Rating:  R for language.
Status:  Complete

Waking up mostly naked in a forest wasn't Tex's favorite way to wake up. Her favorite way to wake up was naked beneath the man walking to her right-- but he'd never know that. Really, what she'd rather do, is wake up naked in a pile of money. And guns. And ammo. Sure, it'd be a little cold at first, but they'd warm right up. That would be the good life. Of course, there were no beds made of money, guns and ammo here -- not that she'd seen, anyway.  It was disappointing, but she'd deal with it. She'd dealt with disappointment all of her life... just look at her ex. At that thought, she looked aside at the taller man as they walked. Six feet six inches was a little on the short side for a Spartan.. they were normally six-eight, or six-nine. And the girls were normally six-six or six-seven.. so the pair of them, really, were rather short for Spartans. It hadn't ever bothered either of them before. But Tex did feel particularly short today, without her armor.

She needed to get ahold of The Director and find out what the Hell was going on here. But that thought drifted out of her mind as they slowly came to a stop in front of a building that proudly announced it was a thrift store. She hoped there was no one in there that would mind them simply.. taking things. Because she had no money and she certainly wasn't going to pay with anything else. She was just going to take what she wanted and walk out. So when she pushed the door open and went inside, she was glad to find no one standing at the main counter.

"FInd something to wear." An easy command to Church, as she headed for the racks of jeans.

It was a disappointment that Tex had managed to slide into those tight jeans before Church had looked over at her… but he would live. His eyes lowered to watch the progress of the tank top until the bottom of it settled down to cover her abdomen, and only then did he lift his eyes back up to her face. Call him a dog, call him a pig, he didn’t really care what you thought of him. Just a part of his oh-so-charming personality.

“No, I wasn’t. Thought it’d be a great idea to run around here in a pair of socks that have been God-knows-where.” Because all Church knew (while he fancied himself as good looking as God…) knew was that they’d been in some box that he’d woken up next to. A box that had contained seemingly useless supplies, with a town so near by. If they’d been stuck in that forest? He would have been glad for the soggy matches, the bottled water. Even the socks, because it got cold at night. But now? Not exactly. In fact, he was considering replacing the socks already on his feet with another pair from the thrift shop, but he wasn’t sure he could trust the clothing here any more than something he’d sporadically woken up with in the middle of foreign woods.

“Anyone ever tell you that you talk to much?” As he said it, he was moving to a rack of shoes and pulled a pair of black sneakers off (they seemed to have a thing for black, didn’t they?), lifting a foot up so he could try it on. Too small. The next pair, however, was a fit and he pulled on the left shoe for the right already laced up, tying it off before turning his attention back over to Tex. She was really pretty… but she was also really annoying. Who had died and put her in charge?

Regardless of that fact, he was taking a few steps towards her. “Oh, you mean you think that there might actually be people around in this obviously inhabited town? My God. Someone pinch me, because I must be dreaming. Pretty and smart? How could I ever be so lucky?”

"You're just as obnoxious when you can't remember me. Why is that? I thought you were just an asshole because you knew who I was, but I guess it turns out that you're an asshole all the time. It figures." She rolled her eyes up and shouldered the backpack before lifting a hand to shove his shoulder good and hard, to get him the Hell out of her way. "Don't stand too close to me. And don't stare." She'd been telling him not to stare his whole life, but he still hadn't gotten the hang of it. He hadn't even really tried, that she'd seen.

"And don't question me when I'm giving you orders. Just shut up and listen." She didn't know how long he wouldn't be able to remember anything.. maybe a week, maybe a day. Maybe for the rest of his life. And really, it might not be so bad, as long as he got the hang of listening to her when she gave him orders. The rest of the Blue Team had. But Church always had to be the difficult one. God, she hated him sometimes. And as she let her eyes sweep down over his body, then back up to his face, she shook her head some. No. She hated him all the time. What an asshole.

"Are you going to try to be productive or are you just going to keep bitching? Because we can stand here all day and listen to you whine and moan about this, and wax poetic about how beautiful I am. I don't really mind. I have a lot of time to waste. I'd rather be wasting it straddling that gorgeous Captain back there, but if I have to waste it arguing with you, I'm okay with that." She lifted her eyebrows expectantly, before crossing her arms over her chest to look as pissed off as she could manage. And she was very good at looking pissed off.

“Fuck you.” Was Church’s easy response. Though when Tex came forward and shoved his shoulder, he snapped a hand up, a quick reflex, and took hold of her forearm tightly. What the hell was that? With a little jerk, he pulled her around to face him, and leaned in to speak quieter near her face. Leonard fancied himself intimidating, but he wasn’t sure there was going to be any intimidating this woman. She was pretty feisty… though that wasn’t ever a bad quality in a woman, in his opinion. Wait. Where was that opinion even coming from? He couldn’t ever remember being interested in women – but then again, he also didn’t think there was anything wrong with that. Why was that? There was a little too much to think about there, so he shoved it to the back of his mind and shook his head.

“Like I said. You don’t want me to stare, then stop acting so hot and bothered.” With that said, he was shoving her arm away and moving past her, towards the door. “I don’t take orders from you.” Said simply. He hadn’t ever had a woman CO, hadn’t ever had a woman training officer. There hadn’t been any women on Onyx or Reach other than the female Spartans… and most of them really couldn’t be considered women, really. “Don’t flatter yourself, either. You’ve got a nice rack – “ Rack. Where had that word even come from? He shook his head again. “You might have a nice rack, but that doesn’t give you any sort of authority. So back off, bitch.”

With that, he was pushing a hand into the glass door of the thrift shop and moving outside. Apparently, he didn’t have a moral code, either. Because Church was walking out with the clothes he’d stolen on his back. He hadn’t taken any extra, like Tex had.. he could always just come here and snag some more, if he was here long enough to need them, right?
