Day 13: 6AM
Who: The Doctor and Open
When: Day 13, 6AM
What: Being perplexed and unamused.
Where: The Carnival
Rating: PG to start
Status: Active

The Doctor hadn't returned to the barn. He didn't want to go back to the couches or the floor boards or the scent of moldy hay. Not in the least. He didn't want to sit there all wet and annoyed and be totally immersed in the sensory experience that was a broken barn. Instead, he went to the carnival with all of its ruin and found a nice bumper car to sleep in. Just like he had the first night. A bumper car, alone. Sequestered.

They'd all come out of the experience in the watery room relatively unscathed. He imagined that at least a few of them would be afraid of not only water, but also confined spaces. That was to be expected. If they weren't a bit more skiddish, the Doctor would have been amazed. So, when the Doctor quietly slipped out of the group he made his way through the chaos and ruin to the place he felt most comfortable - the shell of a holiday park. Arms and legs were flung haphazardly as he tried to find a comfortable spot and when he did the very soggy Doctor fell asleep.

Cue morning. Sunshine. Tweeting birds. Gentle Breeze. All that. The Doctor woke up from a dreamless sleep and immediately groaned. This place wasn't as how he'd left it, not at all. The place where the roof had caved in had been restored. The Ferris Wheel had been put back into place and the littered debris that had been cannibalized the day prior seemed to have soaked into the ground overnight. "What?!" His voice cracked as the Doctor shifted. There was no pain in his back, either. "What?!!?" The Time Lord growing more perplexed by the moment. This didn't make one ounce of sense. not one.

Pushing out of the pleather-cased interior the Doctor stepped out onto the slippery floor and quickly made his way out of the enclosure and onto the path that meandered through the fair grounds. Everything was back as it had been. The Doctor scratched his head. Perhaps they weren't in the same town any longer; perhaps they had many of these towns. There was no way that all of the damage could have been repaired in just a few hours, no matter how powerful the people behind the curtain were.

So, the Doctor walked at a lollygagger's pace, looking over the rides and games he'd already memorized. Why wasn't he happy?

"Sightseeing? Hmph...useless contraption. Not cost effective for anything." Ramirez wasn't amused by a toy to look at things. From his perspective, ships were much more effective ways to scope out the surroundings and had military uses.

Ramirez was the type of person who was very judgmental, and only respected those with power and who actually appeared to have power. Anyone he deemed weaker than him was simply and inferior being that needed to be controlled.

The Silvite looked up at the weather as well, smelling the moisture in the air. Rain. He was used to being surrounded by constant storm clouds, he lived in Valua for ten years which never had a patch of blue shown. The man looking at him again caused him to look back, expressionless as before though looking irritated.

"...Why do you call yourself by a medical title? Isn't that rather insulting to the profession?" He merely looked at the extended hand, before looking back up and not changing his expression. The respect he'd started to gain for this man, under the impression he was a doctor, was begining to disappear. A man calling himself 'The Doctor' and not being one? Foolishness.

Those suggestions he heard sounded like hovels he'd rather not be in. A barn? There were better things to do than sleep with pigs. The journal he recognized and reached into his coat, pulling his out. "I found it when I awoke, and saw I could commincate with someone else from my home thats here. Do you have any clue whats going on with this...Vas Captio thing?"

"Things always look a little different from above..." The Doctor replied hopefully. He could tell that this leisure activity was somewhat lost on the man in front of him; which was slightly amusing to the Doctor. He wondered where the man had come from; he could think of a hundred cultures who would probably react in the same manner, he didn't want to go and peg the wrong world.

"It's not a medical title, it's my name," The Doctor replied with a cheeky grin. When people got annoyed, the Doctor got a bit more cheeky. He didn't like to encourage anger, and generally his insults were masked in some sort of sideways grin and quickly spoken word. Hey, he was better than the previous version of himself that ran around calling everyone a stupid ape; at least he tried to insult intelligently.

"It would appear we're to be the subjects to someone's idea of experiments," The Doctor said more seriously, the smile slipping away from his features. "They take people, every other day, usually. They take them and they sometimes don't come back." Like Martha Jones.

"There's someone here you know?"

The man stated the obvious. He was from above, he knew this. Ramirez's eyes slanted a bit in annoyance, but this 'Doctor' obviously wouldn't know where Ramirez was from. Another fool trapped here by someone or something. It was however opening his eyes, and caused him to realize there could be something greater to seek in the universe. Domination of Arcadia seemed trivial now.

"Its a medical profession. You're using it as your name, which is aggravating." He decided to be upfront about it, let him know he was annoying. Ramirez was usually very blunt and to the point about things, but walking away from such a strange person wouldn't answer any questions. He could The Doctor probably had a better idea of whats going on and how to get out than the others. Though that cheeky grin needed to go.

"Experiment? If thats what this is, its a very strange one. And dangerous to put all of us together. They must be very powerful, or very stupid. When I find them, I will dispatch them." Of course, he needed to acquire a rapier somewhere. It was more pleasing to slice a man's throat than to rely on magic.

"Somewhere here? Where?" He didn't quite follow. Did The Doctor mean their abducters, or there was literally someone in else in the carnival?
