Who: Kaylee Frye & OTA
What: Looking for River and Logan
When: Day 12: Afternoon
Where: Outside Library Ruins
Rating: TBA
Status: Active

Kaylee was incredibly worried. She had left the gym in the early morning, looking for River, looking for Logan. Despite all her looking, however, she found absolutely nothing. She had gone missing, for two days, could not remember a single thing. No one had given her the 'Goodnight Kiss' to muddle her memory and knock her out cold on the floor of Serenity like Cap'n and his 'wife.'

River had been on the cot next to hers, sleeping as peacefully as she could be expected to. The younger girl had been badly injured, and while Kaylee had gone off to help Edward reattach his leg, she had spent a good deal of her time hovering over the girl. Simon was not here to do it, and River was crew. Crew meant family. You watched out for family.

She stopped outside the ruins of the Library, nervously looking around, hoping that Logan would just come out of the wreckage.

He did not come.

House needed to get out -- no matter how hard it was for him to walk at the present, he needed to get away from the gym before anyone else could come up to him. Yes, he knew he was a doctor and yes, he was aware of what his duty was. However, at the same time, he wasn't used to having to give out this much individual attention. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

This was why he had a team and was why he spent his days in his office while the rest of them did tests and whatever else he had them doing.

And so, House hobbled from the gym and began moving slowly about the town -- not caring where he was going only that he didn't have to see patients.

It was approaching the library (or what was left of it) that House began to realise just how bad the situation was. Why the hell was he brought here in the first place? If it was to be a nursemaid, well, he'd happily go back thank you very much.

Since having his leg reattached by Kaylee, Edward had been cheerfully taking advantage of the ability to walk again. Though he didn't move very quickly, he liked to explore, and he adored meeting new people, and even after the Earthquake, nothing could disillusion the young man. Especially since he'd been reunited with Kim. Ever since that had happened, Edward didn't think that it was possible for anything to go so badly wrong that it couldn't be fixed again.

Approaching the library, he caught sight of a dour looking man, not quite elderly, but not spry with youth and vigor, either. Toddling toward him as quickly as he was able with his recently reattached leg, he started to trail the older man (who wasn't moving very quickly, either... was he injured?)

"My name... my name is Edward... hello? Where are you going?"

Moving around the Library, with the odd hope that if she just stepped a bit further this way, it would suddenly be all right in some way, Kaylee caught sight of one of the doctors who had been working in the gym.

"Doctor House?" The words had just left her mouth when Edward with his wild hair and sweet, scarred face came into view, toddling along as he did. An odd pair those two, neither moving swiftly nor smoothly. "Edward?"

Kaylee looked over her shoulder, over at the Library's broken remains, the corpse of knowledge, and then back at the two men who were quite at odds in every possible comparison.

House looked at the man, well... No, man was the best way to describe him even if he looked like the inside of a kitchen drawer. House really couldn't help it -- he stared. First the heel spring lady and now this? What the hell was this place? He was beginning to feel like the only one who didn't have something odd going on with him. Then again, he could wake tomorrow to find his cane sticking out of his leg.

Things could be worse.

"Ah, Kaylee," House said, the barest hint of a smile gracing her face. He glanced at Edward. "Not going anywhere, or anywhere fast really. Needed to get out of the gym for a bit. Suppose the same question could be asked of either of you. Don't think there's much to check out of the library. And yes, the pun was intended."
