Jack had been standing around in the wings of the gym for a little while, watching the people from a distance with some distaste. He didn't want to get roped into helping take care of anyone, that was for certain. But he also wasn't sure he could leave the poor little winged woman all by herself in that den of the wounded. So he was sticking close, not wandering too far away for her sake. Or perhaps his own. She was an adventure and he hadn't seen much in this place yet to indicate it wasn't just a sleepy little, land-locked, boring town.
He left the gym after a while and trudged slowly, aimlessly around the building. He had found another bottle of rum somewhere. Perhaps someone had thought it would be a good idea to have it on hand for a surgery if the ether ran out. Or whatever it was the doctors and their bizarre machinery used.
That was why he was at least one sheet to the wind by the time he saw the black-haired girl sitting in the grass. He ambled over to her with a friendly smile, his fingers wiggling somewhat effeminitely as he waved to her. "Good day to you, lass. What fine weather we're having." Then he flopped down beside her in a messy Indian-style seating arrangement. "Hello."
