Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!complete, day 11, location: barn, logan, remy lebeau

Who: Logan and Remy
What: Taking a walk into the woods, and Remy goads Logan into a fight. Because let's face it, Logan's going to blow up on someone, might as well be the Cajun, who can hold his own!
Where: Near the Barn
When: 2012 - Day 11
Rating:  Logan and Remy? R. Very R.
Status: Complete

The cleaning up of the barn had gone surprisingly well, they'd gotten a fair amount done and Remy had (finally) agreed to actually help them do real work. So he wasn't as injured as he had wanted them to believe, but it didn't mean he wasn't in pain. He certainly was in pain, just not as much as he said. Surprise, the Cajun was a liar. However, once the work of cleaning up the barn had been done, the Cajun had reminded Logan that it might be good for them to look around the surrounding forest for some sort of timber to make some torches, or a few fires to light the town. They didn't, after all, have any electricity at the moment and thus they had no light after dark. And that meant, of course, that once they got into the forest, even while the sun was still just barely up, it would be relatively dark for the pair. That had never really been a problem for Logan, Remy knew.. and it wasn't much of a problem for him, either.

So, after letting the others know where they were going, the two mutants were headed into the forest alone.. and once they were far enough away from the barn, the Cajun was speaking up. "You t'ink you helpin' 'dese people, Logan? Non. You gon' hur' someone, 'cause you can' get your temper un'er control. You gon' blow up at someone an' kill 'dem, you ain' careful. You take me on, non? Get out somea'dat energy out." Of course.. Logan fighting with anyone, especially the cheeky, injured Cajun wasn't a good idea. Sure, he could do some flips, as he'd demonstrated.. but there wasn't any way he could hold his own against Wolverine. No one here could. Right?

Wrong.

When the subject was changed, Remy just smirked and shook his head, but then looked skyward, at the shimmering glass above them. It was dark now, the sun had gone down during the fight and seeing in the forest would be difficult, but they could see one another fine, for now.

"Oui, a way to ge' ou'. You try cuttin' up 'dat glass wit' 'dose claws uh yours yet, homme?" Gambit was slowly pushing up to stand, finally, then he returned to touching at his injured shoulder. It wasn't out of place again, just throbbing hard all over again. There went his twenty-six hours of healing, all gone to waste. At least it was an excuse to rest, right? What he really needed, was a sling.

Really, Gambit had considered using his power on the glass too, but... no. It just wasn't a good idea. He was sure he could do it, but.. exploding glass everywhere? With as big and thick as it was, it'd be like setting off an atom bomb in the middle of the town. And, well, even Logan wouldn't survive that.

"First thing I did when I got dropped here." Well, aside from be VERY pissed off. "Didn't so much as scratch the shit. Dunno what the hell it's made of, but it ain't /normal/ glass." Logan says. "Was wondering if we might be able to dig under it. They always forget shit like that."

Logan got to his feet too, head cocked slightly to one side as he did a quick listen-check to make sure nothing nasty was moving around. Last damn thing they needed right now, which probably meant it'd happen.

"Ain' no diggin' un'er it. De Doct'r an' I look at it, too. Goes deep. Goes high. Can' go 'roun' it. Doct'r say we gotta move it." He was very carefully pushing his left hand into his pocket (oh, that hurt) while he used the right hand to gesture as he spoke, some fingers gloved, some fingers not. Better to hold a charge that way.

"You gon' be stayin' in 'de barn tonigh', Logan?" Because the Cajun (apparently along with a few others) had decided that the barn was a good a place as any to sleep. Better than a tree, in any case. The graceful Cajun, so feline in nature most times, could certainly have made his home in a tree, or on a bench, or anywhere, really.. but he was a city boy, through and through, and didn't really appreciate the fine arts of 'camping', so that couch was the most welcomed thing in the town, even though it smelled terrible. He'd much prefer a bed in a fancy hotel and room service.. but that wasn't going to happen any time soon.

"Damn. Well, it was a thought. Though how the Doc thinks we're gonna move the damn thing, I'd love to know." Logan says.

"Prolly not, but I'll bunk down nearby." Yeah ... no way in HELL is Logan sleeping someplace full of people ... not with his nightmares.

Unlike Remy, Logan was quite comfortable, thank you, out in the boonies, and could make himself a nice little lair to sleep in with a minimum of fuss and bother. "'sides, still gotta patrol. Would /not/ put it past the idiots running this place to dump a pack of lions on us or some shit tonight."

"Aw, you gon' protec' me? 'Dats so sweet. Gon' stay near, wa'ch over me while I sleep? Brea't heavy on my neck?" More poking fun. His shoulder hurt like a bitch and it was a nice way to ignore the pain, by picking fun at Logan. Vous voyez, mon ami, you like a dog." This came with a slow gesturing, using his good hand. "You loyal when you wanna be, you protec'ive. An' you coul' sleep anywhere. Non?" Where Remy, the cat of the relationship, was very much the opposite.

"Wha' you gon' do when you get outta here, mon ami?" He thought he knew the answer.. but he sort of wanted to hear it from from Logan's lips.

"Shit no. Not protecting you. There do, though, happen to be a good couple dozen people here who couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper sack, though. And with all the buildings so messed up, trouble can just walk right in."

The comment about Logan being like a dog earns Remy a swipe at the head. "Watch it, red-eyes." Logan snarked. Then his expression went predatory, deadly.

"What the fuck do you /think/, red-eyes? I'm gonna have some /fun/ hunting me some asshole. Got a score to settle with the jackass that set this shit up." Yeah, predictable. Logan does not take kindly to being caged. Much less caged like THIS. "After that, dunno. Depends on what the deal is if we get out, where the hell we're at and whether or not we can get back to where we belong."

"Re'-eyes, really? You can' be more crea'ive? I know you more crea'ive 'den 'dat. You ain' never call me re'-eyes 'fore." It was really strange for Gambit to hear that nickname. "Gambit." He repeated his name, as if it would be hard for him to figure it out for himself. But at least Logan wasn't calling him 'Gumbo'.

"Yeah, yeah, af'er 'de hun'in' an' 'de killin'. Wha' if you can' get back do where you suppose' to be? 'De Doct'r say he ain' ever hear' of mutan's. Be jus' you an' me here, 'den. None o'ters."

Logan snorted. "I like keeping shit simple. 'swhy I call Cyke One-eye most of the time." Well, aside from the fact the nickname pissed Scott off.

He shrugged. "If I can't get back, I'll prolly explore a while. See what's what. Find someplace as far from Rorschach as I can get, so I don't kill the asshole just on principle. Build a place, if I gotta, if there's no people or places to live beyond the glass."

Yeah. Logan's wants and needs are pretty damn simple.

They certainly were. Gambit wanted a five-star hotel and silk sheets. He wanted room service and pretty girls with their mouths hanging open. He wanted good food, lots of alcohol, and no one to tell him 'No'. His needs and wants were certainly not simple.

"Jus' like 'dat? Gon' settle in an' make 'de bes' of it? C'est inattendu. You amaze me everytime somet'in' come outta yo' mou't." As the Cajun walked alongside him, all long-limbs and grace, he was stepping carefully over the fallen trees and limbs in their way, left over from the earthquake. He had the urge to hop over them, but didn't want to jar his shoulder. "You gotta t'in' 'bou' protec'in' people can' protec' 'demselves, non? Maybe you preten' t'be normal, be a cop." He'd have to 'pretend to be normal' to get that sort of a job. Especially if there were no people like them around here, outside this box.

"Well, if there ain't no way to get back where I belong, ain't no point throwing a fit about it. Just gotta make the best of whatcha got."

The thought of himself as a cop made him laugh. Hard. "Damn, red-eyes ... didn't know you had that much a sense of humor. Me? A fucking cop? Not likely. I'd never be able to explain the lack of scars and shit from getting shot or jumped by some idiot."

Not to mention the whole not having proof he existed to GET a job as a cop. Or the fact he'd never make it through training, nevermind the lower echelons of cop ranks, without putting his fist in a superior's face.

"Nah. I'd probably end up doing something else." Probably cage fighting again, if it existed.

"Maybe you can' get back where you belon', you come wit' me to where I come from, non? Same t'in'. You less apt to stick 'dem claws in my belly 'den 'de shor'er version o' you." The Cajun wouldn't mind having this version of Logan around. They seemed to get along better.. of course, that was because this Logan knew nothing about Gambit. He'd only known him two days and he hadn't been around him long enough to hate him yet.

"That'd mean there'd be two of me in one place though." Logan pointed out. "Could get a bit ugly." To put it /mildly/. "Though it just might be worth it, to see the look on Cyke's face when he realizes he's got two of me to deal with now."

"Oui. Two of you, 'dat mean twice 'de figh', non? 'De enemies run away screamin'." That made his lips curl up into a grin and Remy laughed at the thought, shaking his head some and sending red locks in every direction, gracefully stepping over a tree limb as he did.

"Not only 'dat, but you have someone you can figh', an' not worry 'bou' hur'in'. Get a good spar in. No hol's barre', oui? Jus' a free-for-all."

"Certainly something to think about, if I can't get back to where I belong and you can get back to where you belong." Though Logan's of the opinion that they'll all either be able to get back to their points of origin, or they all won't. Not pick-and-choose.

Gambit was of that opinion too, he just didn't want to think about it that way. Then again, if he couldn't get back to where he belonged, it wouldn't really matter. He didn't 'belong' there anyway. It wasn't his home, it was just some place he slept. Some planet that gave him air. He didn't need to be there, didn't even want to be there, really. A new place would be just as acceptable.

"We oughta be hea'in' back to 'de barn, non? 'Less you gon' stay out here tonigh'?" He'd said that he was planning on it, but Gambit figured he'd ask, just in case.
