Day Eleven - Afternoon
Who: Andy Gallagher and Sarah Vida
What: Taking a break from the chaos
Where: Outside the gym
When: Day 11 afternoon
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete, dropped

Now that the dizziness had long subsided and the pain in his leg was dull but tolerable, Andy felt the need to get out of the gym. Satisfied that Elliot and Kim were all right and Lexie was as okay as she probably could be, all things considered, he felt pretty okay with going out of the gym. They'd be all right.

It took a little effort to get around the rubble to greet the-- Oh. All right, greet the rain. But, he leaned against the side of the gym, closed his eyes, and let the rain wash over him. It felt like washing away the lasting effects of the previous day, at least a little. Andy had seen too many people in the gym in horrible shape. Even Elliot hadn't looked so hot, after the fact, but she'd been making rounds and doing her thing, looking completely unaffected. Andy needed a break; looking around at all those people injured worse than he was made him feel sick and guilty.

"Fuck," he said quietly to himself, closing his eyes and leaning his head back, letting the rain come down on his face and drip down his cheeks like tears. Someone else's tears, maybe. It was sickeningly ironic, maybe. He wasn't really sure. All he knew was that it was nice to be out of the stuffy gym surrounded by people worse off and being completely unable to do anything for any of them for his lack of knowledge.

Andy's eyes opened again at the sound of a familiar voice he couldn't quite place. Straightening his head, he noticed Sarah and gave her a small grin that didn't quite reach his eyes. "And so we meet again, stranger," he replied. "I'll live," he added in response to her question.

After a short pause, he pushed off the side of the building. "Shit it's good to see you, you know that? Long time since last," he reminded her. Then, he lowered his voice considerably and asked in a tone meant only for her to hear, "how are you holding up?" The place must've positively reeked of blood; she must be going insane, by now, he thought sympathetically.

Sarah smiled at Andy's response but still looked his condition over, "Are you sure there isn't anything I can do to help you?" she asked, concern written all over her face. Though she secretly knew he would shrug it off. The last time she had seen him he may have been in bad shape but was still willing to go hunting with her.

"Yeah...it's been a while." she said still thinking about the last time she saw him, "Too long."

Sarah knew exactly what he meant when he asked how she was doing. Surprisingly she had managed to keep her secret down to only two people, Andy and Laura. Laura was inevitable since she is also dead but Andy had seemed to keep his word so far and Sarah appreciated it.

"I've honestly been better." she shrugged, "I went hunting just after the mess just to be safe. I got out of it alright--just a broken wrist which should be good by tonight at the latest--I've been making rounds around the gym ever since. In hopes of extra protection for it." she went to lean against the side of the gym with him and crossed her arms over her stomach, "What about you? I am really happy to see you survived...I heard others weren't as lucky..." she looked down sadly. Sarah was a member of the Night Watch and so far she felt that she was failing her job miserably.

Shaking his head, Andy gave her a small smile. "No, I think everything that can be done has been...unless you've got some super secret power up your sleeve that'll heal me faster or something," he replied. "It's just annoying because the fucking thing was finally healing. I just got my stitches out two damn days ago. The dude that runs this place is a BITCH!" he replied, shouting the last word as he raised his head to look up at the sky again; as if he was addressing that person or people. After a short pause, he looked back at Sarah, pushing his wet bangs off his face. "But thanks, seriously." With that, he offered her a small smile as if to drive the gratitude home.

"To say the least," he agreed. "You should hang around more often, peaches. Last time you came 'round, we fuckin' had something decent to eat," he joked in an effort to lighten the situation a little. It was a defense mechanism. Anything Andy could do to try and lighten things up, he would. Easier to smile than to cry, after all...especially when you were a guy.

Andy's eyebrows raised slightly as she spoke and he nodded. He was glad to hear that she wasn't gonna go all crazy tree-runner-upper-wolf-throat-ripper-outer on him or anything. "You heal fast. Lucky," he teased, giving her a gentle shove with one hand on her shoulder. The latter part of her statement made him wonder if, like, he was supposed to hug her now or something. Awkward... "Yeah, I've been better myself, but I'm alive, so I can't complain too much," he replied. Then he paused. "Yeah, some--wait, what?" he asked, confused as fuck as her words actually processed in his head. "Are you saying some people died?"
