Who: Jack Harkness and Remy LeBeau
What: The Cajun comes back to the Post Office and Jack finds him.
Where: The Post Office
When: 2104 - Day 10
Rating: Er, it's R now.
Status: Complete!

The Cajun had spent his entire day in a way he certainly wasn't interested in spending it. He'd wandered around the outside of the town with the Doctor all morning, which had been great, as they were trying to figure out a way out of here.. but then it'd gone sour when the earthquake had happened. The red-head had very quickly become an unwilling hero and had gone around saving people with the Doctor. At first. He'd tried to escape, and after dropping the people off at the gym he'd gone back out to try and get some time away from any further heroics.. but he'd been hauled in again. Then again. And again. He'd been trying to get into the museum all day, and he'd finally managed it just a while ago. And now here he was, having returned to the Post Office to stare at the closed door. He'd jimmied it shut with a stick earlier in the day so it wouldn't be open for all to see in. He didn't want anyone mucking up his escape, if that tunnel really lead to one.

However, he couldn't bring himself to go inside the building, couldn't bring himself to abandon the people here. Or maybe he couldn't bring himself to abandon the Doctor. He let out a slow breath and pushed his hands deeper into the pockets of his coat. He felt like an idiot for not being able to leave this people in his dust and hightail it out of here. Just earlier today, he'd been willing to sell them out. But then.. well.. things had happened. Red eyes lowered to the ground, then back up again at the Post Office. He was only standing about five feet from the door, nearly invisible in the dark, in that  coat.. except for his hair. That red hair stood out in even the smallest bit of moonlight.

He wouldn't get a response at first. The Cajun man had his eyes locked onto the Post Office and was refusing to look away. But eventually, after a few long heartbeats, he did turn his head and look at Jack. Then he broke into a smile and lifted his eyebrows. "You foun' me, Cap'in. Seem like I gotta new stalker, non?" It was a tease, of course, and he turned away from the ramshack building to face the older man, hands pressing down into his pockets as he did. "No, not doin' bad. Bit of a problem, in 'de fores' wit' Le Docteur, but I t'ink we bot' doin' okay." He was actually in quite a bit of pain, but just standing in one place, it was impossible to tell. He wasn't shifting, or walking, or moving.. so none of the soreness was going to be advertised.. yet.

"You look like 'de earthquake miss you entirely. Yan'no doin' okay?" He had pretty easily put two and two together, after talking with the both of them, and the Doctor, and after realizing that they shared a room inside the museum. Remy wasn't accustomed to those sorts of lifestyles (it wasn't welcome, where he'd grown up), but could understand that people found enjoyment out of other people, regardless of their gender.

Tsking softly, Jack waggled a finger in Gambit's direction. "If I wanted to stalk you, I'd have found you long before this." Of course, between the earthquake and everything else, there hadn't been time for Jack to go 'a huntin''. He wouldn't admit it, but Jack breathed a silent sigh of relief when the Doctor's name was mentioned. He knew the other man would come out of this okay, but without the TARDIS around, if he was in danger of dying there would be no chance of regeneration. That sheer thought scared Jack half to death.

"Few bumps and bruises," Jack allowed. And I died. Nothing out of the ordinary. The card of 'I can't die' was going to be saved for another day. "But I'm hanging in there. Ianto will be fine. Broken arm and a good hit to the head." Jack's gaze flicked back towards the gym. "Most of them have been congregating there. Seems like the two doctors who were given equipment? Apparently the Powers don't want to kill, just observe. Otherwise they wouldn't have given us the equipment."

"I t'ink you righ' 'bout 'dat. If 'dey wan' to kill us, 'dey done it 'stea' of brin'in' us here, oui? 'Dey don' wan' us dea'. 'Dey wan' us 'live. It's a game." A game was right. And sadly, it was a game that Gambit was actually.. sort of enjoying. He liked a challenge.

"Gla' to hear Yan'no gon' be fine. You know, you ough' be flir'in' when you can' follow t'rough, boy." Boy? Jack had.. well.. plenty of years on Gambit. Not just in a time line, but he looked physically older than the twenty-two year old Cajun. "You ain' tell me you gotta lil' missus at home." Calling Ianto the 'little misses' had his smile widening out into a very lucid grin. It was amusing for him. "So why you runnin' 'roun' here 'dis late, homme? Ain' you got hero t'in's to be doin'? Babies to save, puppies, kitties in trees, non?"
