Who: Shannon and Remy
What: Gambit eventually makes his way back to the museum.
Where: The museum
When: 1826 - Day 10
Rating: PG13 - Just in case
Status: Complete

Gambit had left the museum just an hour and a half ago, having backed off when Sam had shown up to watch over Shannon. But the Cajun had stared a while at the Post Office, before walking around to look at the carnage of the town, then he'd stood and stared at the felled clock tower for a while. Eventually, he'd left it and had headed back to the museum, for the items he'd been planning to get in the first place. Sam had, for all intents and purposes, chased him off that first time. So he had never got the chance to explore the museum. He was going to go looking for the Doctor's jacket, the Doctor's journal, and a few of those paintings. Definitely a few of those paintings. Then he was going to get the Hell out of this place.

However, when he approached the museum, he was surprised to find that Shannon was still there, and with Jack Harkness, no less! Jack, though, after an easy greeting, had left to do things that needed to be done, and Gambit was once again left babysitting the injured girl. The aftershocks were still shaking the ground every now and then, so going inside wasn't a wise idea on anyone's part, so he avoided the steps leading up to the museum and came back over to Shannon to stand in front of her, hands pushed down onto the pockets of his jacket. He'd wear that thing the rest of his life. Really.

"You still look tire', Chere. How your side feelin'?" His smile was easy, as it always was, and he tilted his head to the side, hair falling into his face.

"Oui, 'de Doct'r's. He'll wan' it back la'er." He knew he would. So the Cajun had fetched it. "But I get to keep one of 'de pain'in's." Because, well.. he'd pulled them out, damnit! So one was his. If they could find some place stable to live again. "An' you welcome, Chere." He shifted back and very carefully pulled his left leg around to bend it at the knee, sitting in a half-indian style, while he drew the other knee up and wrapped his good arm around it to keep him sitting properly.

When she offered the food, Gambit let a small moan escape the back of his throat and a partially gloved hand moved out to take it. The gloves, now, were worn. They weren't torn up yet, but they were made out of stronger stuff than that, made to withstand a small explosion, as long as he could pull his hand away within the first few seconds, and not be directly next to the object. He slowly took a bite and chewed, savoring the taste before giving her a quick wink. "'De bes' t'in' I ever taste', Chere." Only because he was very hungry. And once the half of a bar was gone, he was turning, and carefully laying on his back in a smooth motion, alongside her, so his head ended up just a foot off her knee. "Jus' saw 'de Doct'r, he's doin' okay. Luna, 'de blon'e, an' 'de boy 'dat t'ink I'm a demon, 'dey bot' in 'de gym now, she got a burn' han', he was 'de poor sap got trample' by 'de deer. Bangge' up pretty good. Watanakimaki," Yes, he knew that wasn't his name, but he couldn't remember anything but the first part of it, "He look like he gonna live, too. An' 'de boy 'de Doct'r pull out. An' E'war'. One guy die'.. I talk to him once, on 'de journal. Nice guy." He didn't even know his name. Somehow, that felt wrong.

"But 'dere wasn' much panic goin' on when I lef' 'de gym, so I t'ink 'dey mos'ly got it un'er cont'rl." Or so he thought. After that last after shock? He could be very wrong. Something else could have collapsed.
