Remy LeBeau was a rather well known thief in his part of the world.. and in parts of the world that he'd been to on vacation, where certain things had gone missing. The X-Men, as of yet, didn't know anything of his former life and he wasn't in any hurry to tell them about it. What they wouldn't know wouldn't hurt them. So mum was the word for the Cajun, but to those he'd stolen from, his was an MO they would never forget. It wasn't his face that was well known, or even his name, it was what he took and how he took it. They'd given him several names, the most popular of which had been Le Diable Blanc, The White Devil. It was fitting, really, and he'd appreciated it when reading about it. He had an alias.. well, aside from his several other alias'.. okay, so it wasn't that it was an alias, it was that it was such a cool alias! And that had always brought a smile to his face. In fact, the Cajun was smiling even now, as he was moving on silent feet through the long hall of the museum. The room the Doctor had appointed to him had been a few doors down, and the Cajun had appreciated it quite a lot. He'd gone off to bed early, since he hadn't slept the night before. But that also meant that the red-headed devil had gotten up early.  It was just a few minutes after eight, and the Cajun had already gotten himself up and tugged his shoes on, then headed out of his make-shift room to get a better look at the museum. After a half hour of disappointed exploration (okay, so he'd taken a few things and settled them in his room.. for now) he had finally decided that he wanted to leave this place and explore outside. Perhaps get a good look at the walls that were keeping them in. The glass box that had been mentioned to him several times the previous day.

And that was what had brought him to the Doctor's office.. well, the Doctor's bedroom. He wanted to take a walk, but he certainly didn't feel like doing it alone, after giving the 'buddy' speech to a few people yesterday, he'd feel stupid going out on his own today. So he'd chosen himself a partner. The Doctor. No, no, not that kind of partner! Though, if he swung that way, the Doctor certainly wasn't bad looking.. the thought had Remy tilting his head.. but then he shook it to get rid of that image. Definitely not. Unless the Doctor had breasts under that suit and a fantastic-- Definitely not going there! The Cajun winced slightly at the mental image that he'd created and closed his eyes tightly. Out, image! Out! Dead puppies! Dead babies! Logan in a speedo!.. Oh, that had done it. The image of the Doctor was gone, replaced by something much more awful, but at least it wasn't the man behind this door. The door, in fact, that he was presently turning the knob to test it, before he was pushing it open silently. Only enough for his lithe body to make it through, and he was silently closing it behind, before heading across the room with careful steps, until he was right up alongside the sleeping alien. It reminded Gambit of a movie he'd once seen, but now certainly wasn't the time for that. So the Cajun moved to stand with his feet about level with the Rooster-Haired-Doctor's chest, so he could stare down at him like some sort of creepy red-eyed vulture, a smile starting to slowly creep across his face.. and very quietly, he crouched down, leaning forward some so that he was hovering slightly over the (much) older man.

"Docteur." The whisper from the red-head, he assumed, would likely startle the poor man awake. But it was all fun and games for Gambit, right now. It would be for a few more days. He wasn't really taking all of this seriously because he'd been in worse spots before and he'd always been able to get out. He'd always come out on top and this situation wasn't going to be any different, so he might as well enjoy it while he was here, right? It was interesting! There were new people, old people who were from different places, and an alien! A man with knives for hands.. the whole thing, the whole expreince, was fascinating for him and he wanted to assure that he got to take in every little thing, and.. well.. he was actually enjoying himself, for now. Enjoying himself because it was another puzzle he could solve out. It was another prison he could break out of. Another test for him to pass. Another place for him to prove that he was the best. And he would. This was a test, it was an experiment. And Remy was going to win.  "You 'wake?"

"Madame de Pompadour? You met her 'den? You gotta poin' me to 'de place you buy 'dat time machine, Docteur. I've gotta get me one." It was a joke, of course, because he certainly wouldn't know how to fly one, (assuming it was a ship) even if he was able to buy one. However, he was stepping away and moving to lean back against the wall, hand dipping into his pocket to finger at a few of the things he'd picked up along the way yesterday.

"She stole you, eh? Soun' like 'de Docteur has uh crush, non?" Another tease, because with the way the suited man spoke about her, he certainly had more than a crush, but Gambit wasn't going to explore that further. Instead, he was allowing the other man to end the topic there, if he so chose.

"Feels a lil' warmer in here." And if it was too warm out there, he'd be taking off his jacket and tossing it back into the museum, where he'd just have to come find it later, after their little adventure of sorts. "Yan'no, Wolvie, an' uh few ot'ers, inclu'in' you. If 'dere's a big wall of metal glass, I wanna see it for myself." Wanted to touch it with his own hand. Wanted to send a wave of energy through it and explode it. But he wouldn't. Logic told him that he'd blow up the glass, yes. Without a doubt. He could charge Wolverine's skeleton and cause it to explode inside his body (had he gone through with it, that was).. he could certainly charge any object he could get his hands on. But if he blew that glass up, they'd all die. Right? Right.

Still, maybe he'd bring it up to the Doctor later, all the same. Maybe he could manufacture some sort of.. well.. force field? Aliens could do that, right?

The Doctor let Gambit's intrigue about the origins of the TARDIS linger in the confines of the redheads imagination. He didn't need to tell Gambit that he'd stolen it, gone traipsing around the galaxy at the marked displeasure of his kinsmen, and gone on trial for interfering. In fact, what he was doing now might actually be termed interference.

As Remy insinuated that the Doctor had a crush on Reinette the Time Lord sat poker faced. More than a crush, it was sheer infatuation. The Doctor wondered if Gambit had managed to meet his match - and just what his match might actually wind up being like. Something told him that much like himself, Gambit needed someone who might stand toe to toe with him and challenge him. That would be fitting of the Cajun just as it was of the Time Lord.

Ignoring his coat which was draped rather carefully on the back of his chair, the Doctor pushed himself to stand. Turning he slid away the toothbrush and toothpaste. He was ready to go already. "Well, if you'd like to see it, it's not that far from here, actually."

The Doctor was up and running just like that. No breakfast, no special routine. If Remy wanted to see the wall, then see the wall he would. Besides, the Doctor wanted to have a nice long look at it himself while he tried to determine what sort of metal it was bound with for certain. The Doctor could dream of easy answers, couldn't he?

They all could dream of easy answers.. it was helpful, sometimes. And when the Doctor announced that the wall wasn't far from here, he nodded and gestured dramatically towards the door, bowing some at the waist. "You lead 'de way, mon ami." And once the Doctor had headed out of his office, Gambit was close behind, hand slipping into his pocket again, eyes lingering on a painting as they passed by before he took a few quick steps to catch up to his companion.

"Met a few people yes'erday." Conversationally started. "Dunno what 'dese guys are tryin' to accomplish, but 'dey're collectin' a wide range of people. Some pretty strange ones, too." As if the Cajun had room to talk about people being strange. He wasn't even supposed to exist, according to the Doctor-- not that Gambit knew it, of course. An evolutionary link. No interbreeding needed. The human race simply began to evolve on its own.

"Seem like mos' of 'dem are scare'." He breathed in deeply through his nose and forced his hands into his pockets a bit deeper, smiling as he did so. He definitely wasn't one of the scared ones. "You ain' careful, mon ami, you gonna have a rio' on your han's. Fear breeds fear. A crow' can quickly turn from a group of concern' people to a mob of terrifi' people. And people, when 'dey terrifi, 'dey do all kindsa stupid t'in's. Makes 'dem harder to control." Black and red eyes slid over to his friend as Gambit stepped up to tug the door open and allow the Doctor out first.
