Day 9 - Evening
Who: Granny Weatherwax & Gregory House
What: first meeting, general grumpyness on both parts, hat and cane searching
Where: Thrift store
When: Day 9, Evening
Rating: TBD
Status: Active

After parting with the Doctor, Granny took the small black book from her pocket and peered suspiciously at it. Among the writing and scribbles there was a part that looked like a map. The witch stared at it for a while, turned it upside down experimentally and decided that she couldn't make heads or tails of it.
She put the journal back in her pocket and headed towards what seemed like the center of the small town.
Before heading towards the place the Doctor had told her about, she decided to finish her walk around the streets. She didn't like the place one bit. It was like a giant trap coiled about them.

She stopped her trail of thoughts when she noticed a couple of mannequins with garish dresses in a shop window.
The inside of the shop looked deserted, but this didn't stop Granny from walking up to the door and opening it. It was unlocked.
Granny was a firm believer in the fact that witches had the right to go wherever they pleased, so she had no restraints in walking inside and starting to look around.
The clothes in the store looked terrible, typical foreign fashion she thought. However she wasn't going to miss this opportunity of looking for a new hat.

House wasn't thrilled with the state of the store, but when you've had your hands deep inside the bowels of a human, a dirty store didn't seem quite so bad anymore. He ignored the state of the store, intending to get in and get out, grab a cane and just leave.

However, seeing someone else inside put a definite cramp in House's style. Under normal circumstances he would have ignored -- oh who was he kidding. An older woman looking through a pile of hats? House couldn't pass up the opportunity to mock. "Please, keep trying every single one on," he said, passing her by, limping past a pile of books. "I'm sure one is bound to fit properly."

Granny turned to glare at the new arrival, who turned out to be a middle-aged man walking with a marked limp.
"These hats," she said sternly, "are all wrong!"
Of course she was referring to the lack of black pointy hats, since no witch would have ever dreamed of wearing any other hat. She didn't even recall where she'd got her hat from, but Gytha (who was more wasteful and tended to change her own hat every decade!) got hers custom made from the nearest haberdasher.

"Who are you?" Granny asked the man. From the way he'd walked in she doubted he was the owner, but maybe he could point her in the direction of the nearest hat-maker.

"There's nothing wrong with them," House replied, limping towards her and the assortment of hats. "Their only crime is being a few decades out of style, perhaps, but there's nothing inherently wrong with them." House kicked at one on the floor. "Outside of the one missing a good portion of the brim, it's perfectly fine."

House had no idea there was a particular hat she was referring to, besides he was going to be an asshole no matter what.

"Who am I?" House shrugged. "Doctor Gregory House, chief diagnostician at a hospital quite far from here. And you are...?"
