Who: Sam Winchester & Andy Gallagher
What: Remembering Cold Oak
Where: Starting at the church and heading towards the clocktower
When: Day 9, Morning
Rating: R
Status: Active

Sam had only been drunk a handful of times in his entire life and somehow between the few times he always forgot just how horrible the morning after a night of binge drinking was.  He'd been sick earlier, though he was grateful that he'd been able to make it out of the museum and out of the sight of any of it's inhabitants, especially one, before he emptied the contents of his stomach on an unsuspecting bush around the back of the building. He couldn't really think of anything that would've been more embarrassing than having Shannon witness that, except maybe having Dean see it.

He also found himself grateful for the fact that he hadn't yet consumed all of his tic-tacs from his welcome package so that he could put them to good use now. He'd made his way back into the museum and while he normally wouldn't have touched Shannon's supplies without first asking permission he'd taken the liberty of helping himself to her supply of Aleve and a bottle of water. She probably wouldn’t even know, considering she was still sleeping in one of the rooms with Ianto and Jack, though he wasn't entirely sure if she'd care or not. He wasn't sure what had happened between them, but she was definitely acting as if he'd done something wrong. Something that was most clearly evidenced by the fact that she'd decided to sleep with someone else the night before without so much as telling him she was going to do so. Not that she necessarily owed him an explanation, he'd just forgotten momentarily that she didn't. Which was maybe the most disturbing thing of all.

A quick look in the journals had given him an excuse to get out of the museum and had him headed towards the church to meet up with Andy. The pretty day was absolutely wasted on him as he battled the raging headache that remained untouched by the Aleve and squinted against the morning light. Even the sounds of the birds annoyed him as he made the trek from the museum to the church, his shoulders slightly more slouched against the sunshine than they normally would've been. He had finished the water bottle by the time he reached the church, his thoughts moving to his father and his brother as he surveyed the lonely graveyard. By the time he reached the church door there was a part of him that had wished he knew some place where he could curl up alone and go back to sleep and then start the day over hangover free. 'Course wishful thinking hadn't exactly gotten him anywhere before, he didn't exactly have a lot of faith in it now.

He reached up and knocked, the sharp sound of his knuckles on the door seeming to echo. Then, realizing that Andy wasn't exactly the most mobile person at the moment and Luna was out he pushed the door open. "Andy?" He called out, but not as loudly as he normally might've, as he searched the open space for a sign of his friend. "Hey, it's me, Sam."

Andy shook his head and laughed. "Yeah, okay, Sam," he replied sarcastically. Though at Sam's next response, Andy laughed. "Ha, fuck yeah. She's so hot..." he muttered to himself.

The two of them went on walking and when Sam asked about Lexie's ability to knock him out for the stitches, Andy smirked. "Dude, I dunno. There's a whole rack of prescriptions behind the counter and shit. She found Ketamine in the pharmacy. It's an anesthetic, really, but only when it's like diluted with other medical shit. Intervenous or whatever. She used it straight and sent me right into a motherfucking K-hole from hell. Webber was there. And a shitload of Lunas. It was fucked up," he replied. "But I didn't feel a thing, so I'll give her that much."

As they walked, a building loomed in the distance and the closer they got, the more Andy was pretty sure it was the clock tower. He hadn't ventured down to this part of town in a while. A long while, seemed like. Sam's curse caught Andy off guard and he looked sharply up at his friend to follow his line of sight. "Jesus fuck..." Andy breathed, picking up his pace as much as he could manage as well. The hobble was a little painful and he wasn't sure why he was moving faster; the person hanging there was dead or would be even by the time Sam got up to cut them down. He supposed the speed was probably more reflex and trying to keep up with Sam than anything else.

Looking up at the body as he finally stopped, his brow furrowed. He had no idea who the hell that guy was, but it wasn't anyone he'd met which was the important thing as far as Andy could tell. "Shit," he said quietly, looking over at Sam. "I just had a fucking flashback of Lily..." he admitted. "We should cut him down, whoever he is..."

Sam smiled to himself, glad to have solicited a laugh out of Andy even if he was rolling his eyes at his comment the next moment abut Katie Holmes.

He nodded sympathetically when Andy explained the K-hole. He oculdn't imagine what it would be like to hallucinate Webber there, not to mention the dozen Lunas, it sounded like a hell of a bad trip if he'd ever heard one.

Sam came to a stop under the clocktower, only convinced close up that there was no way of saving the man who hung there. He was definitely dead. Sam stared up at his slightly swaying body until Andy caught up. He'd had the same flashback to Lily and he couldn't help but think it'd been done intentionally.

He looked over at Andy when he said they should cut him down. He cleared his throat and nodded, furrowing his brow before moving towards the clocktower doors. He was surprised Rorschach hadn't already cut him down, unless there was something wrong and they'd had to get through Rorschach and Merope in order to put him there. He knocked again, louder this time, and when there was no answer he shoved against the door and it popped open. Inside the clocktower was empty.

Swallowing thickly, Andy followed Sam up to teh door of the clock tower and then inside once his friend's knock went unanswered. There was no one inside. Andy was pretty sure there were people supposedly staying here, but there didn't seem to be any sign of them. His eyes moved over the area and he nodded toward the stairs. "You got a knife or something? Or are we gonna have to heft the guy inside and untie?"

Either way, Andy thought as he started toward and up the stairs carefully, limping slightly the further up the stairs he went, it wasn't going to be pleasant. If they used a knife and cut him down, they'd have to hear - if not see - him hit the ground and if they had to heft him inside, they'd have to carry him back down the stairs to bury him. Unless, of course, Sam just wanted to leave the body and Andy would definitely not fight him on that.

Sam moved up the stairs quickly, not exactly waiting for Andy. He glanced over his shoulder as Andy asked what he wanted to do. He didn't actually want to do either, but he couldn't leave the body there. "I've got a knife," he said, moving towards the broken face of the clock tower. "I think it'd be better if we hauled him up though."

Cutting him down, to Sam at least, wasn't an option. He wouldn't be able to stomach the sound that his body would make when it hit the ground. Sam had a strong stomach, but there were still limits. He reached out, grabbing the rope and starting to pull the body up. He didn't leave much room for Andy to help and he wasn't really sure that he wanted to. Sam felt responsible, even before he saw the photo pinned to the front of the man's chest as he hauled him inside the clocktower.

"Shit," he said, laying the body down on the floor and picking up the picture of Lily. He looked up at Andy, a deep frown on his face and an unpleasant turning in his stomach. "It's for us."
