Entry tags:!dropped, day 09, esmerelda weatherwax, jay, location: barn

Who: Jay and Granny Weatherwax
What: She might be exploring, but Jay is just plain lost.
When: morning, a while after the arrivals
Where: At the intersection after the barn
Rating: PG-13 for definite language.
Status: Active

You would think after all this time here, someone wouldn't get lost anymore, wouldn't you? Except Jay had never really walked this far down this way. He'd followed the straight-ish road from the Not Quick Stop up until a point, and then chose to not turn right and keep going. Now he found himself at an intersection, seeing nothing but forest, and a building further down. But he didn't want to go back into the forest. And turning around and walking back up wasn't really an option because... Well because Jay was dumb as a box of hammers and when he turned around to look at the other roads, he couldn't figure out exactly where he'd come from.

So here was Jay, standing at the intersection trying desperately to find the page where he knew someone had drawn a map. Another thing he hadn't bothered checking before going on this 'adventure' without Silent Bob.

After parting with the Ripley woman, Granny had wandered aimlessly through the empty streets. The whole village seemed almost abandoned, and even though there were signs that people had been there recently it didn't seem as if they'd made any attempt to fix the damaged buildings.
Even though Granny had no set destination, she walked briskly. No point in letting the morale down.

Finally, after turning the corner of a barn, Granny noticed another person standing at a crossroad.
"Good morning," she called to the young man.
She noticed immediately that it would be pointless to ask him for directions, since he obviously seemed more badly lost than her.

Jay wasn't expecting anyone to be there, really, so he slowly looked up from the journal...And let out a yelping sound when he saw a fierce looking old lady staring back at him.

"Whoa!" Was all he said. He couldn't say he did well with old people. Especially the crazy kind, which this one probably was, judging by the weird hat she was wearing. But there was no point in being rude. "I mean, good morning. Ma'am." He tried to act polite, but it was clear he wasn't exactly used to it. Jay had no idea what to do with old women, he certainly couldn't think about fucking them - at this thought he almost puked - and he felt kind of bad using his usual language in front of an old lady, too. In short, old people made Jay uncomfortable.
