Day Nine - Midmorning
Who: Ianto Jones and Shannon Rutherford
What: Morning jog and then hitting the showers
When: mid-morning
Where: the gym
Rating: Let's go with PG for language - showers totally taking turns.
Status: Active

When Shannon extracted herself from the amusingly awkward tangle of limbs in the boys' room, she made her way to her own. There was a bit of hesitation there, just outside the door of the room she shared with Sam and she wondered if he would be in there...and whether he'd be upset that she ditched him. She found herself relieved, though, when she opened the door and the room was empty.

Not that a skirt was probably ideal, considering it's not-so-modest length, but it was hers and it was the coolest outfit she had - the one she'd started in. It was too hot for jeans and too hot for the long-sleeved shirts she'd stolen from the thrift shop, so she changed back into said skirt and the tank top she'd been wearing with it when she'd first woken up in the woods in the rain over a week ago.

She sat in the room for a few minutes, on the floor, mulling over the previous day and the morning that proceeded it, opening her journal. There was new handwriting...and Shannon couldn't bring herself to respond to any of it. Not just yet. Whoever said she had to be the welcome wagon, anyway? It just sort of happened that way and maybe she wasn't sure she wanted to be that person anymore.

But Ianto had already journaled, too, she saw, so she replied and smirked at her own joke when she teased him for the grabbage in the other room. Okay, a jog it was, then. Maybe she could talk him into taking her back to the gym so she could take a shower after. It had been a few days. He could maybe stand guard outside, so she wouldn't end up having another...inappropriate encounter.

So, Shannon grabbed her backpack - filled with extra clothes she'd have to use as towels as well as what she had left of soap and shampoo. Oh, and she could definitely enjoy a shave again, by now. Shouldering the bag, she headed back out of the room, closing the door behind her to quell any potential curiosity anyone might have to paw through Sam's things, and made her way back toward Jack and Ianto's room, knocking on the door. "Let's roll, Grope-y, before I decide I'm too lazy," she teased through the wood.

Shannon gave Ianto a sad smile and shook her head. "Believe me, Ianto. It makes you better," she said with a tone of finality. She looked down, then, thinking to herself that she couldn't even say that she hadn't ever judged someone based on their sexuality, because it'd be a big, fat lie. When she looked back up at Ianto, she nodded her understanding. "Well, I won't judge you," she offered. It was true now, even if it'd be a lie back in the real world before she'd come to this place.

The small smile expanded into a grin as Ianto turned. "Totally hot," she said, winking. "Should we get back, then?" she asked. Now that she had had a good morning, a good jog afterward, and a great shower, Shannon was ready to retire to Sam's room, have something to eat, and flip through the journals idly, like she often did when there was nothing left to pass the time.
