Hey You, Hey You, Finally You Get it. The World Ain't Fair, Eat You if You Let It (active)
Who: Rorschach, Merope, and Doc Lexie
What: Merope's infection is getting out of control, Rorschach is fulfilling "partner's duty," and Doc Lexie isn't feeling great but is the only one who can help them.
When: Around 10:00 AM, Day 9
Where: Starting at the clocktower, and then the gym
Rating: PG-13 for medical stuff. :)
Status: Active

Rorschach hurried back to the clock tower, cursing softly. He had hoped, like Merope, that a shower would clear up the infection, but clearly things didn't work that way. Now, she was just as badly off, and possibly worse, and he knew that he had to get her back to the gym to see the female doctor called Lexie.

He was in great shape, so getting back and climbing the winding stairs on the inside quickly were not a problem for the masked hero. Entering the little room he shared with Merope and ignoring the body hanging from the clock face in the already sweltering heat (Rorschach was sweating under his coat), he knocked twice and then entered without waiting for a reply. "Are ready to go?"

From before, Merope was quiet all day and hadn't felt like she needed to go down the winding stairs for a second time today. At the moment, she found a rather simple looking violet dress, so she was in something quite easily moved around that was soft. The second she heard his voice, she raised her head slightly and pushed her hands against where she was sleeping and raised her body up.

"....Yes, I am." She called.

Whenever he would open the door, she felt sick from the scent of the blood and rotting carcass if not from her own medical problems already. Merope was much more pale, even ghastly as she looked towards his body with a light smile.

The scent of death was either filtered out by Rorschach's mask or simply something the man didn't react to anymore, so there was no reason for him to go back to check the source of the scent. Glancing at the deep purple dress that Merope was wearing, Rorschach only noticed that it made the hue of her skin even paler-looker.

"Will carry you," Rorschach said, not waiting for an answer, but striding over and slinging Merope over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. He didn't treat her roughly, by any means, but he seemed to characteristically have duty foremost on his mind.

As he came by, she frowned as he went to sling her over his shoulder. Merope wasn't really in the best shape to be picky, but as her hip felt pressure of his shoulder, she winced. "Stop. You are hurting me..." Merope used her hand and pressed into his shoulder to alleviate some of the pressure.

While there wasn't much struggling, she wouldn't have minded this way if it didn't mean pressure in all the wrong places. "Rorschach..." She whispered and made stifled groans so she wasn't very loud..

That caught Rorschach off-guard. He was hurting Merope? No, that couldn't be. He would never hurt his partner! However, she certainly sounded like she was in pain... so Rorschach quickly set her down.

"Am sorry. Did not mean to hurt you. Can climb on my back? Would be all right?"

The girl squeaked so she could alleviate the pressure there, but when he quickly set her down, she leaned a little into him. Merope took a minute and clutched the fabric of his coat before she waited for it to subside. When she was not feeling anything too intense, she raised her eyes to Rorschach and leaned her body against him in silence.

Moving her hands a little, she lifted his mask some so she could see his face,"...I think that would be okay." It'd been some time since she'd seen his real face, her gentle fingers moving over it before she pulled it back down and signalled that she was ready.

Rorschach considered his mask his true face, so it went without saying that he was just a bit uncomfortable when people tried to remove it. However, he allowed Merope to lift it, staring at her with his usual wooden expression. It was even more mask-like than the cloth he usually wore to conceal the weathered features.

He turned, offering her his back. Once she was securely held in place, both by her own strength and his arms looping snugly under his knees, he started toward the gym with her, trying not to jostle her too much.

While he seemed to be devoid of anything that appeared like touching, Merope tried to offer him some here and there. She even tried to offer him a kind smile which seemed to default to a slight winced after a moment or two. When he turned, she was quite slow in her movements.

The moment she pressed her frame against his, she settled back and winced. It took her much longer than before to get herself settled in a position that didn't compromise her body feeling much discomfort. Merope just wanted this pain to be over, she couldn't take much more of it as it was stopping her from even moving.

She nearly choked.

In what weak strength she had, she moved her arms to try to wrap around his neck without choking him. Any time there was a movement that was too much, she tensed and had a muffled cry that never hit the air. "Please don't leave me."

Rorschach heard the differences in Merope's breathing, the occasional catches and half-formed vocalizations. He knew the sounds of pain very well. They sounded a lot like the sounds of fornication. "Won't leave. We are almost there."

Indeed, they were almost at the gym, and as they approached it, Rorschach dared to quicken his pace slightly. He didn't want them to be too late to catch Lexie while she was willing to tend to the infirm. He entered, careful not to let the door hit Merope, looking around for the woman he knew by sight or anything resembling a clinic.

Merope tried her best to be as accepting and as loving as she could possibly be. Her face hid into his back, trying to keep any noises down so they weren't obnoxious in any way. When the two finally made it into the Gym, she slacked her body on his as she did before. Merope knew that she was safe and nothing could go wrong, she could depend on him to hold her up when she couldn't do it herself anymore.

While Rorschach looked around, Merope did nothing more than try to relax.

"...Thank you, Rorschach."
