Day 9 - 0030
Who:  Remy LeBeau & Amaterasu [And OTA, if you're brave enough!]
What:  Arrival thread.
When: 00:30, Day 9
Where: In the forest, closest to the gas station.
Rating: PG-13, just in case.
Status: Complete

The first thing that Monsieur LeBeau noticed was that his head hurt. A lot. The next thing he noticed was that he was laying on his back.. in the middle of a forest. And it was dark. It took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust, but the Cajun was slowly sitting up and smoothing a partially gloved hand back through auburn hair, ruffling it up as he looked around. "C'est ici que.." He breathed in deeply through his nose and tilted his head back to look up at the moon through the trees. "Ah dun' t'ink Ah'm in Kan'sus anymore." The soft words broke the silence around him, before the odd-colored eyes of the mutant (red and black, odd even by mutant standards) were lowering away from the moon and sliding over the trees around him, then to the cold ground he was sitting on, before he finally noticed the woman laying next to him. "Mon dieu. 'Dis mus' be heaven." From what he could see, and the soft moonlight that lit her face, she looked quite pretty. And Gambit, being Gambit, had to appreciate that for a moment before he got back to business and was slowly pushing himself to stand, hands smoothing over his chest, then over his sides, to assess his situation. All limbs accounted for, he could feel all of his body parts.. and then those partially gloved fingers were finding their way over his pockets.

They were empty.

"Merde." The thick Cajun accent sounded softer when he was speaking French, but it was a rare occurance. He felt through both outside pockets of his brown leather jacket, then he opened it up to feel through the inside pockets. Then his pant pockets. Nothing. There was nothing. No cards. No knives. No lockpicks. No wallet-- no credit cards (so what if they weren't his? Don't judge him!). No sunglasses. Just the clothes on his back and the boots on his feet.. His boots! Quickly, he was lifting his right foot to feel at the ankle.. no. His small swiss army knife was gone, too. And that had been his emergency weapon, for cutting ropes and things, of course. But at least he wasn't completely without weapons For Remy LeBeau, anything could be a weapon. But first things first, he needed to figure out where he was, and how the Hell he'd gotten here.

And who was that pretty lady? His eyes came back down to her again. It was chilly outside, but he was comfortable in the large leather coat. He was so fixated on her that he didn't notice the little survival kit not far from him. Not yet. "Vous êtes éveillés?" The soft question wasn't meant to be heard, he was only enquiring if she was awake or not.. and if she was, she probably wouldn't understand him anyway. If she wasn't, then it wouldn't matter, in the end.

"Ah need t'get de Hell outta here." The Aubrun-haired man lazily reminded himself. As if he needed reminding.

Amaterasu had been in the midst of a majestic dream. She was running, her four legs were like a blur as her head held high and proud, her tail wagged so fast it looked like it was standing still. She almost literally flew across grassy plains and nature-drenched valleys. Waka wasn't too far behind her; she could hear him saying something in French. She turned her big, white, wolfy head...

"Oh!" She gasped when she realized that the other person was, infact, a stranger. A confused look crossed her face but was instantly replaced by a friendly smile. She was, at the very least, a people deity; humans were very important and necessary for her survival (other than animals or surroundings). Not only that that was the only reason, of course.

Ammy was able to get on her knees (which was a suprise in itself as well) with some difficulty, and asked very kindly, "Did you give me this form? I appreciate it if you did, Sir, but it wasn't necessary; I did well enough as a wolf," while taking a look at her new body.

"I ain' do not'ing, Chere." Gambit assured her in an easy, but quiet tone. If there was something out there that was watching them, something that had brought them here, he didn't want to give it any cause to be startled, or any cause to attack them. That was the last thing they needed right now, and he was turning to look around them once again, for safety's sake, before that lithe, acrobat's body turned back towards her, and one partially gloved hand extended down to her.

"But I t'ank de people who give you dat body, is very easy on de eyes." That compliment came with a charming smile attached, the corners of his lips curling up to reveal straight, white teeth. "But I t'ink you been on de bottle uh bit too much, you not a wolf. You a fox." Even in the middle of the forest, in such conditions, the Cajun couldn't manage to take it seriously, and just had to hit on the prettiest thing within a hundred feet. If Rouge were here, she'd crack his skull open.

But she wasn't. And really, Remy was thankful for it.. it meant she was safe, back at the mansion.

Amaterasu didn't think twice before grabbing Remy's offered hand, there was no reason to be rude or not take it, and at the compliments, she smiled a little wider, but did not blush. He seemed friendly enough, and was certain that she could trust him (the man didn't smell like an ogre, Tengu, Imp, or other foul beastie, or even possessed, so she concluded that she was safe for the time being).

Amaterasu laughed a bit at the 'bottle' part, "I'm afraid I don't drink, Sir. It messes a lot of things up, or it will be your downfall.

You are the charmer, hmmm?" She joked, clearly not taking the unfamiliar surroundings seriously, either. Of course, she was in her natural element; Ammy was at total ease here.

"My name is Amaterasu, but you can call me Ammy, if you'd like," the deity smiled softly, as she readied herself to stand up.

"You can call me Gambit. Nice t'meet you, 'Ammy." The thick Cajun accent put a twist onto her name and when she was prepared to stand, he was using that hand to help her up to her feet. "Dis your fores', Chere?" He questioned as he looked around again, but his larger hand never released hers. It wasn't often these days that Remy got to touch a beautiful woman (without getting smacked, that was).

Eventually, those black and red eyes came back around to rest on her and his lips turned up into another smile. "What you say we get outta 'dis fores' and get somewhere where 'dere be people 'dat could answer some mah questions." He lifted auburn eyebrows slowly, not awaiting her verbal answer before he was leading her forward.. and it was only then that he noticed the little survival kit on the ground. In fact, there were two. It caused him to slowly release her hand and kneel down there in the grass to look through one. After a moment, he was holding up the tube socks. "What 'dis some kin'a joke?" The socks were wiggled and the Cajun was pulling out the tic-tacs, then those odd-colored eyes were lifting back up to her curiously. "'Dis your doin'?"

"No, these woods are unfamiliar, Gambit," Amaterasu replied calmly, although she felt better about learning how to walk on two legs once again.

Again, she refused to say anything, mentally shrugging. She would have preferred to stay in the forest, but humans were different than she was. It wouldn't be too bad, though. She may recieve some praise through it, and find some work to do (including, but not limited to finding a way to transform into her wolf form again).

Ammy turned her attention towards her box, and (after opening it) cocked her head at an angle as she inspected each item, especially the notebook and pen (she'd worry about the others later), "These appear to be used... Hmmm. Are these supposed to be writing or drawing tools?" The goddess asked no one in particular. How odd these humans were, and such interesting things they came up with!

"No. This would not be my doing. There'd be more than just water if I would ever think of such a thing."

"Not sure, Chere. Look, you stay here, non? Maybe be safer. Stay in 'de shadows, don' make any loud noises. I be back jus' shortly, t'bring you inside, wan' make sure it's safe firs'." He flashed her another winning smile, then was bending to scoop up one of the journals and tuck it into the inner pocket of his jacket. He left the rest of the items in the box there on the ground.

"I be righ' back." Assured once again, as he was turning to leave the forest.

"I suppose I should," Amaterasu replied, although she wasn't fond of being left behind, or treated almost like a fragile thing. If only Gambit had known about the monsters and demons she had rid her home (temporary and permanent) of, if only.

She did as she was told, while keeping a noteworthy watch over their new belongings, only taking her eyes off of them for a second when she decided to keep note of her surroundings in the book to relieve boredom.
