Day 8 AM, Carnival
Who: The Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith
Where: The Carnival
When: Early - Mid Morning
What: Pillaging the ride controls
Rating: PG, most likely
Status: Complete

It had been an interesting morning thus far. The Doctor was currently slid halfway underneath of the large motor used to turn the Ferris Wheel in the center of the carnival. The motor, rusted and for the most part useless, was being cannibalized for it's gaskets, sprockets, and bolts. He needed lots of bolts. Without bolts there was no way to hold the casing of the sonic modulator together - and it seemed that the entirety of the large motor was nothing more than a dumping ground for bolts.

Reaching out to grasp his journal, the Doctor tilted it, squinting at the writings within. The whole place was going batty it seemed over the writings of this insider- person. On top of that there was talk of clones and of people nearly resorting chaos. The Doctor disliked chaos for a variety of reasons - top of which being it made a situation like this one even more volatile. Scribbling back a few notes he laid the journal down. Now, at least he had Sarah Jane as well. She would be an immense help, he was certain. There were people of action, like Sam and Dean for instance; people of analysis like that bloke Ryuzaki; and then there were people of thoughtful action, like Sarah Jane Smith. The Doctor could hardly think of anyone he'd like to see more. Sure, Jack was valiant and heroic and a fantastic follower (and as the Doctor was starting to see a fairly good planner as well); the Doctor was used to Sarah Jane and how she thought - and he knew she'd be invaluable to the team. A team, which oddly enough, included Ianto.

Tapping the toes of his sneakers on the concrete the Doctor continued his work harvesting spare bits and parts from the motor."I like Chinese, I love their tiny little trees," The Doctor mumbily sang, his mind going to a happy Monty-Python-Infested place. He'd have to remember to keep an ear out for Sarah Jane. Or one of those clones. Or Jack sneaking up on him with some sort of prank at heart. This, when it came down to it, wasn't so bad at all. It wasn't like he was fighting the Daleks with a toothbrush or thwarting the Sontarans with a copy of Moby Dick. No, he was just putting together a Sonic Modulator to help them all escape the glass cage.

This he could do with both eyes shut.
