Entry tags:!dropped, day 08, jack harkness, location: pharmacy/liquor store, npc

WHO: Jack Harkness, Clone!Jack
WHAT: Jack, meet your clone.
WHERE: Pharmacy
WHEN: Day 8, evening
RATING: TBA
STATUS: Dropped

There was a headache that had begun at the base of his skull since the morning and meeting Ianto's clone that had slowly radiated outwards as the day progressed. Logan and that whole deal, he didn't want to think about. At all.

But the one thing Jack did have to do was check out the chemist's and see what was available that wasn't going to be necessary for humans and what could most closely recreate the Weevil spray they used in Cardiff. According to the map, there was a barn situated in one corner, and Jack had yet to do any other exploring. If these powers that be could follow them and create clones, surely they weren't going togive their captives a detailed map with the words 'you are here' emblazoned on it.

The barn, however, had possibilities. If they could, perhaps, round up the Weevils -- then they all could stop worrying about one threat and work on the bigger picture. It was a thought at least. Letting himself in, Jack wrinkled his nose and began moving through the aisles. Didn't matter what his clone said, Jack was going to be doing this his way.

It was a trick he was playing with himself. Guess the whereabouts of Jack and it was so much fun because he wasn't entangled with Ianto anymore now. Ianto was just boring now. There was no spark. No interest because Not Jack couldn't have him. What was the point? Oh but there was always the real Jack or "Other Jack" as he was starting to think of him. That could be fun! They could even spar and no one would die. Not permanently at least. Not like the wrinkles that he almost was getting because he was not having fun with Ianto.

So he had read in the journals that Other Jack was going to try to make Weevil spray. He had totally bluffed and said he'd made it himself already because he didn't want anyone to know he had spent a large portion of the day pining over Ianto in the library. That was really pathetic. It was business time now. No, scratch that. It was game time now! It was Find Jack time and he was so sure Other Jack would be in the pharmacy sooner or later.

Ah and there he was! Not Jack stood in the shadows and said in his most serious voice, "Hello, Jack. Fancy meeting you here."

The moment he heard his voice speak his name, Jack froze. He had been waiting to finally encounter his clone and now, here it seemed, was the moment of truth. Had taken the majority of the day, which made Jack wonder just what his clone had been up to for the other twelve plus hours. Part of him didn't want to know and the other part wanted to throttle his clone and find out what all he'd been up to.

Jack had seen the way the other Jack spoke and, well, he was concerned.

"Meeting you here?" Jack asked, drawing his lips into a thin line. His eyes searched the darkness, slowly rotating until he spied his clone. Vaguely disconcerting to look at himself. Interesting, but disconcerting. "And here I thought you already created the compound. Never knew myself to be a liar."

Which, in and of itself was a lie. Ah well. To be Jack Harkness.

"Why would my being here make me a liar? I have had multitudinous hours to play the hero since creating the compound." He smiled broadly and stepped out of the shadows with slowly paced steps. He wasn't mincing, mind you, he was just perfecting a kind of John Wayne inspired swagger. If he could not be Jack per se, he would be his own version of Jack. That way he could play all of his other games to his heart's content and no one could ever accuse him of trying to usurp the real Jack.

He stopped walking when he was finally in a spill of light from the window. One of his eyebrows arched and he folded his arms across his wide chest. "My but aren't we handsome?" He gave Jack a long and maybe a little naughty once over. It made the happiness begin to well up inside him again to see himself. He wanted to clap his hands and give a little whoop of joy. They could play games together now!

Except he was playing it cool now. He was going to keep himself under control because he was not going back. No effing way was he going back because the real Jack couldn't live with there being two of his very handsome, very huggable, and oh so very shaggable self running around.

Oh god, Jack wasn't really this bad, was he? He knew he could be a bit of a cocky ass at times (or, perhaps a little more often than this) but not to the point of damned annoying. Right? Jack shuddered ever so slightly, hoping his clone didn't notice the motion. God, of all the people to run into -- or in the famous words 'in all the gin joints in all the world...' Jack hoped to god he wasn't this bad.

This was... vaguely unsettling to see himself. Logically Jack knew it wasn't him, but it still was strange to look at oneself without standing in front of a mirror. Really, really strange. So many years of always avoiding himself during temporal shifts and now it felt like all that training had gone out the proverbial window. "Of course we are handsome. If you're me you should be exact in every detail."

Jack crossed his arms in front of his chest, returning the once-over. No, he was not going to contemplate those ideas. Well, he already had but had been told that there wouldn't be any naughtiness with the clones. Unfortunately. "So what are you doing here?"

Oh but he could do whatever he wanted, Jack was a big boy. Almost Jack winked rakishly at well himself. "Yes, I am very exact. Very perfect. Just like you."

He always had found himself a mightily good looking guy. Very handsome, oh yes. So why shouldn't he want to shag himself? That would be better than shagging Ianto. He was sure of it! He wanted to bounce up and down now with that thought. The fantasy. Oh oh oh! This was too good to be true. He would play it cool with himself though. He did not want to scare himself off before they could get to the shagging. There had to be lube in this place! No excuses this time.

"What am I doing here? I'm playing Find Jack! because there was nothing else to do anymore. Nobody likes me even though I am wonderful. It's very not fair, Jack. Do people not like you too?" There was a little bit of a pout in his voice but not Jack was not worried that real Jack would think badly of him. They were the same person after all!

Then it came to him. Maybe Jack would want to see his big secret surprise! It could not hurt to ask. No it could not. So he smiled a big toothy smile and asked his question. "Jack, do you want to see my big secret surprise? I know you'll like it a lot."

There was a vast part of Jack that wanted to protest, say that he wasn't perfect but they both knew that was a lie. True, Jack knew of his imperfections, but he tended not to think on them too often. Really, why focus on those negative qualities? Jack knew of them and there was no need to revisit them.

A large part of Jack would have jumped at the chance to shag himself. The part that was wary of this place, however, held off on continuing that fantasy. Years of dealing with everything the Rift could throw at him had given Jack a sort of cautiousness that he never used to have. Now, in addition to the idea of fantastic sex, was the after-consequences. Pregnant Gwen from the shapeshifter immediately came to mind.

"People love me," Jack replied, leaning easily against one of the shelves, one foot toeing the ground. "But there's a vast difference: charisma. Some have it, others do not." Which begged the question, if this Jack was a clone, why wouldn't personalities be exactly the same? It made no sense to him whatsoever.

Jack frowned, lifting an eyebrow at the clone. "What is it? Bypassing all the 'guess, it's a surprise' business."
