Domeki returned to the museum with all haste. The words spoken by Watanuki's double haunted him in time to his footfalls and he found that he couldn't quite banish the admonishments as easily when he was on his own. It was one thing for him to not flinch in the face of an insult but it was quite another to nurse a hidden bruise - especially a bruise which had been well deserved. Still, Domeki knew that it was not the time to be thinking of himself - not when there was a double of Watanuki wandering about and causing trouble and not when the very fact that Watanuki had a double likely meant serious repercussions. It didn't take much studying, after all, to know that a double was a sign of death.

Trying not to think too deeply on this, Domeki let himself into the museum. Only when inside did he realize that he hadn't asked Watanuki where he would be waiting but Domeki assumed that it wouldn't be all that difficult to find the other. His features grim, he wandered with purpose toward where he had last seen Watanuki.

"It's me!" Watanuki said, when he realized that Domeki was studying him and possibly trying to decide whether he was the real one or the clone. His heart sank when he realized that he had no way to prove this, at least not if the clone was really identical to him, but thankfully Domeki seemed satisfied that he was the original. He still looked ill at ease, though, and his words didn't reassure Watanuki at all.

He groaned when he heard that Tinkerbell hadn't come along. "It would have been better if she wasn't alone," he said quietly. "Will she be safe?"
It wasn't that he thought Domeki had been careless. On the opposite, Watanuki knew that his friend wouldn't have left Tink if he wasn't sure the little fairy would be okay. But he couldn't quite shake off the sensation that if the mysterious person behind the journals wanted to harm them there would be nothing they could do to save themselves.

He was almost more worried for Domeki than Tinkerbell. Whatever had happened, it had affected Domeki badly. He'd never seen his friend look like that, not even when he was under the spider's curse.
"I'll talk with Tink as soon as possible," Watanuki said. "But first you have to tell me. What did that clone do?"

Silently, Domeki rather agreed that it would have been best had Bell come along with him but the situation had worked against him - the fairy had been so shaken by all that had happened that she had seemed to not want any company and he hadn't felt that forcing his presence on her would have done either of them any good. In fact, he had gotten the impression that his presence might have been more trouble than it would be worth.

"She should be alright," he nodded in response to the question but he was speaking more from hope than from surety. The state of Bell was still a concern for him but his concern for Watanuki had proven to be the greater of the two. "I would have asked her to come with me but I was pretty sure that she'd just say no."

"When I found him, your double was doing nothing more than walking the streets but during the course of the conversation he said some very hateful things to Bell - mostly how no one cared for her and she would always be alone. He also kissed and insulted her." His recount seemed to show no care for the effect the words would have on Watanuki but Domeki knew that it was important that his friend knew as much as he could about what had happened - at least as far as Bell was concerned. "I'm not sure that she understood that she was speaking to a double of you, so you may want to be careful around her for a while."
