Edward's mood had plummeted quickly. He was beginning to fear a similar reaction to what had happened fifty years before in Suburbia. It had all seemed so wonderful at first, the new world a magical place for him to find friends and acceptance in, but so far things seemed to be going wrong. Edward was trying hard, he truly was, and some people seemed to still like him. However, he remembered accidentally cutting Shannon the day before (when she was being so kind, too!) and he knew that there was currently someone on the journals saying things about people. Some of the things were true, and some of them weren't; Edward knew this from watching people's reactions to the words in the space below before they disappeared.

He knew that he didn't have blood on his hands at that very moment, but he most certainly had before. He'd accidentally cut a few people, and himself... and he'd even killed a man at one point. Though he hadn't felt very much at the time, Edward had watched insects in his garden enough to begin to understand death. That it was something that wouldn't happen to him, but that almost everyone and everything else in the world would stop moving and turn to shells or bones.

Edward had attempted damage control to the journal entries, in his own sweet way, but it was starting to get a little bit overwhelming to the sensitive razor-fingered man. So, he'd set his journal aside and started to wander, a little heedless of where he was going, until he looked up and saw a towering ferris wheel. His face brightened as he forgot his troubles for a moment. The bright colors and interesting shapes of the carnival reminded him of the pastel world that had once welcomed him.

The fake Doctor's steps had brought him almost outside of town. He saw the shape of the ferris wheel looming not very distant from there and headed in that direction. There was a good chance of the real Doctor being there, and he didn't want to leave without saying hi to the "original". Because with the passing hours his thoughts has started getting more clear, and by now he had a definite feeling that he wouldn't be allowed to roam around freely like today.

He had to make the most out of it while he could. Scaring Shannon and the others and writing nonsense on the journals had been good, but now he needed some sort of closure. He was slightly disappointed when the lonely form in front of the carnival turned out to be someone he didn't recognize at all, and he was about to turn on his heels when he realized that this gave him a perfect opportunity. This time he could act however he pleased, and maybe when this young man would come across the real Doctor he'd find him suspicious. He laughed at the idea.

"Hello!" he called out, waving. However he didn't get to say anything more since the sight of the blades where the man's hands should have been made him freeze.
"What is that?" he asked pointing, his voice full of shock. "What happened to you?"

Edward whirled around and looked spooked, his typical response to being jolted out of a beauty-appreciating reverie. He took a few wary steps back, a little put-off and suspicious of the man's forward way of approaching him. Usually, Edward's shape and Frankenstein-esque way of moving was enough to keep people from coming near him too quickly, before they even noticed his hands. Not that Edward minded; he liked it when people weren't afraid of him.

"Hello..." Edward responded, his head hanging forward at an angle as if the stiff leather coating his neck was holding it stiff. His bladed fingers flexing nervously, he glanced down at the scissors, preparing to answer the question he was all too used to hearing. "I'm not finished... my name is Edward." Gazing meaningfully at the man, he offered a timid smile. "What's your name?"

This man was quite something, the Doctor thought to himself. Even though calling him "man" was stretching the definition: the hands were only the first thing he noticed, and as he walked close he took in the corpse-like face and the strange expression.
His attitude was probably the most amazing thing. Despite looking like something out of a horror movie, he moved and acted as if he was afraid. What of, the Doctor couldn't have said.

He couldn't understand what the monster meant by "not finished" but it didn't matter.
"Nice to meet you," he said, his smile going from one ear to the other. He would have fun with this person, he was sure of that. "I'm the Doctor. You're the one who arrived a few days ago?"

Edward had many reasons to be afraid, especially in a new world where people's first reaction to him was along the lines of "monster". He was a delicate, sharpened Frankenstein with a child's gentle heart in the form of a cookie, so of course that assessment was purely superficial.

Edward watched the man's big smile with curiosity, his own widening automatically as if to mimic it. Edward loved faces and expressions. His own brightened noticeably when he heard the man say who he was. "The Doctor! The scientist!" he said happily, his fingers fluttering the way they did when he got excited. They made rustling, slightly-scraping metallic noises, of metal-on-metal, since they were essentially large sets of shears attached to his forearms and nervous system. "You are very nice! You told me about sex!" he said, unashamed and completely unaware that he was not addressing the same person.
