What: Anti-Watanuki fun
Where: Outside, somewhere near the museum and the theater
When: Late afternoon
Rating: TBD, but PG for starters
Status: Active

The snow had been melting, and, as with spring, with it came birth. The false Watanuki was, at first, surprised to find that he had been granted physical form. Then, his lips curled into an almost-sneer. Why would he not be given physical form? He was the potential Watanuki, he realized, as his memories began to take form. All the wasted energy of the real one was his to use.

He walked slowly, making his way down the road. It was all very new to him, being alive, and he was having a bit of difficulty coming into his own thoughts and body. The real Watanuki had so many thoughts, so many opinions, so much social conditioning that he simply could not understand. He also had many complex interpersonal relationships. Then there was that bizarre power he had, the one that the real Watanuki had had seventeen years to come to terms with; he'd barely had seventeen seconds.

Pushing his glasses up on his face, he inhaled deeply. The air was still a little crisp, and he'd inhaled with too much vigor. He broke into a coughing fit, doubling over slightly. He was not, for the moment, aware of anyone else in the area.

For a few moments she was silent as he stroked a hand through her hair. She had made no reaction when he had punched the fake Watanuki. She still wasn't exactly sure what, exactly, was going on. Her mind was still reeling from all of the horribly mean yet, somehow, true things that he had said to her. She tilted her head towards his hand only for a moment before pushing his hand away.

"You shouldn't hit people. Just like you shouldn't wish them dead. Even if they deserve it. I've learned that much in the past few days." She attempted a half-hearted laugh as she turned her face away from him. It bothered her that he was seeing her crying in such a situation.

His suggestion, though, simply prompted more tears. She buried her face in her hands, her blonde hair forming a curtain to hide her from his view. The glow around her body got darker, so dark that it was barely a glow at all. "You have Watanuki. I don't have anybody. I want somebody to myself!" She was not aware that she sounded somewhat like a spoiled brat, but all of the pain that had been in her heart since Neverland was building up and pouring out. "I want somebody to want only me! I want somebody that thinks that I matter. I don't want to be part of the group anymore. I want to be special!"

She stumbled to her feet, her chest shaking with her crying, and she turned. Glaring at the fake Watanuki, she spit at him. "You might be right, but that doesn't mean that I have to let other people watch me as I fall apart." She started walking, looking lost. "I should go."

"If I'm only feeling a fraction of what she's feeling, then what fraction of what you're feeling am I experiencing, Domeki?" He curled into himself, laughing. "It is not I who needs to learn anything, though I have chosen to take this lesson to heart. You are incapable of taking criticism gracefully. It's a shame, really, as it's such a necessary part of being alive." Demented. He was just a little bit demented and sick.

The fake Watanuki watched the two of them from where he was curled up on the ground. His fists curled into fists, and he began uncurling himself. He'd be feeling that for quite a goodly long time. His eyes narrowed at them. How were they still so close? They knew the awful truth about each other.

When the fairy spit at him, he barely flinched. She was walking one way, and he was walking the other. "I know I'm right," he said, wiping his shoulder. "The question is when will you accept that I'm right?" Hands in his pockets, he picked up the pace, doing his best to get out of there before he got hit again.

Domeki took his hand back without comment when Bell pushed it away and he shook his head slightly. "You're right. I probably shouldn't have hit him - but it will make things easier a little later on." In silence, he listened to her declaration that she wanted to be the sole important one in someone's heart and he felt that he could understand what she was saying - it was nothing more than what a large portion of the world wished for. Unfortunately, only a small number of those ever achieved such a fine thing and even fewer realized what they had.

Sitting back on his heels, he watched as Bell moved to wander away but she seemed so last that he didn't know if it would be wise for her to go alone. "Bell, let me walk with you - just as far as you're going."

Domeki turned his head to watch the not-Watanuki as be began to walk away but he came to the quick conclusion that following him would do little to no good; it would be better to tend to Bell and to warn the real Watanuki about what might be ahead of him.

Her eyes followed the Watanuki as he walked away. It felt as if her heart had been shattered into a few thousand little pieces, and all of it wanted to pour out of her eyes. She took a few deep, heaving, shuddering breaths to try to calm herself. It wasn't a very effective practice for her. Very frequently, the emotions that she experienced were overwhelming. They had to burn themselves out and use up all of their energy. This upset, compounded with others of late, would take some time to clear up.

"I don't know where I'm going," she said absently. Her voice sounded far away. Stopping, she looked back at him, wiping her eyes with the back of her arm. The tears were welling up again, and her eyes felt heavy. "I'm not sure I can let you walk with me. I mean, you've got people waiting on you." Her voice trailed off. Crossing her arms over her chest, she turned away from him, clenching her teeth. Wretched. Absolutely wretched. "I don't want to be a bother, after all, and keep you from getting back any more than I already have. I probably should have stayed in the thrift shop, but I just couldn't take it anymore."

Her hands lifted, covering her face, and she tried to keep breathing slowly. "I don't know where I'm going to go because I don't have anywhere to go. Nobody needs me the way that they need you. What am I going to do, Domeki? Where am I going to go?"
