What else could she do but try to put his seeming paranoia at ease. Naturally Kaylee saw the best in everybody, but she really was not sure what she could find in this man. Especially when she could not see his face.

With a stiff half of a nod, she turned back to the device she had built, carefully removing the front panel to show him. Turning her back on him did not feel right, but what else could she do? The mechanic took a step aside, "See, nothing that'd hurt anybody. Unless they stuck their hand in the middle of it, I guess, some pieces are sharp."
